  This was my third stay at Good Day Sunshine and the second for our Girls' Road Trip. It truly feels like our home-away-from-home. The cottage is comfortable and nicely equipped. Add to that the perfect location -close to restaurants, shopping and activities. Then there are the picture-perfect ocean views and convenient walk to the beach. The owners, Aaron and Kim, couldn't be more accommodating and responsive to a vacationer's needs. A super value for the price. All these factors combine to make our stay at Good Day Sunshine a wonderful, carefree experience in the OBX.

  We have stayed with our family the last two years at Good Day Sunshine. There is more than enough room for two parents, three children, and two grandparents. The home is completely stocked with all the essential kitchen ware you need for the week and has many thoughtful touches.The beach is steps away from the front of the house and it is enhanced by the recent beach replenishment. The homeowners have supplied all the essential beach items necessary for adults and children so there is little you have to bring to enjoy the beach. South Nags Head is quiet and residential which provides a true escape on the Outer Banks. Five minutes from the house you can find all the shops and restaurants you would need during your vacation. The homeowners are very friendly and a pleasure to work with. For a truly relaxing and enjoyable vacation on the Outer Banks -- you can't go wrong with Good Day Sunshine.

  This is our second year staying at this beautiful little cottage on the beach. The place has an awesome view of the beach and is well maintained. It is perfect for a small family or 2 couples. We will keep coming back as long as we can get a week reserved! Thanks so much for allowing us to stay at your renta!

  This VRBO was beyond our expectations! We were very pleased with how well the cottage was maintained and especially the spacious and comfortable bedrooms, living room, dining area and kitchen with a beautiful walk-out deck facing the ocean (the photos are very accurate!). This cottage was more than a cottage in my opinion. Very tastefully decorated and all the bedrooms had what appeared to be new beds, bedspreads, pillows and decor. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need and the appliances again appeared new w/ large stainless steel frigerator, fully stocked dishware, utensils, all sizes of pots, pans, bowls, and a spacious pantry closet. It was very nice having TVs in the 2 queen bedrooms and the outside showers and parking spaces were perfect. The homeowners have obviously put a lot of attention into details in this home and have done a very nice job keeping it clean and comfortable for their guests (and were very helpful answering all of our questions). thank you!

  This property location is fantastic! It is right on the beach, and the beach is not crowded. It is in great condition and we found the kitchen fully stocked and easy to use. The view form the deck is amazing -we didn't have the best weather - we wished we could have used the deck more! The property owner was very easy to work with and attentive. Easy to hop back on route 12 for shopping, seafood, and kids activities. Thanks for sharing your wonderful house with us!

  Our family has been vacationing in the area for over 20 years, and this house is by far the best. Our realtor found this house for us when we decided to downsize from the big multi-family oceanfront houses we'd been renting to a smaller 1 to 2 family house. The house has been beautifully redecorated and is very well-equipped for vacationers. In addition to the owners' continual updating, the location is this home's greatest asset. It's practically oceanfront with excellent views of the ocean from almost every room. The house is a short drive to Oregon Inlet and both piers for the fishermen, and the shops and grocery stores for the shoppers. We were concerned when we left our longtime realtor to rent through VRBO, but the owners addressed our concerns immediately. They stay in touch by phone and email, and they even use the same housekeeping and maintenance staff as our realtor. Check-in and check-out were much simpler too. No long lines at an office---the owners email you the necessary info and the passkey instructions. We've been renting this house for two week vacations for quite a few years and would highly recommend it!

  Our family has been coming to the Outer Banks for over 30 years and we have definitely found our favorite vacation cottage. The house is located in a most desirable location where you are close enough to access a variety of attractions but you could also easily spend a quiet and relaxing week at the beach. The house is decorated in a lovely fashion and includes a well-appointed kitchen. We really enjoyed the views from the deck, the hammock located under the house in the perfect nap spot, and the evenings in the hot tub staring at the stars. There are so many little "extras" provided in the house that make the stay even more special. Our family includes 2 children under the age of two so the highchair and children's gates were very useful. Overall, this is a lovely, well-maintained cottage that we would highly recommend.

  This has to be one of the best cottage locations on the Outer Banks. You are near shops, restaurants and attractions, but have none of the congestion of the northern beaches. The beach itself is wide and uncrowded. The deck on the cottage provides a wonderful view of the beach and you are only steps away from being on it. The cottage is lovely. It was nicely stocked with everything we needed. The kitchen was modern and the furniture and bedding was comfortable. The outdoor shower was great! We had a small problem when we arrived at the cottage. The owner was immediately accessible and handled it with courtesy. I would certainly return to this cottage and highly recommend it.

  The cottage was very clean & comfortable. We had beautiful views of the ocean from the deck and easy access to the beach. The kids were excited to see a school of dolphins early one morning as well as two beach weddings! Some of the restaurants we enjoyed were Dirty Dick's Crab Shack and Fishheads Bar and Grill. Our favorite places to spend some family time together were on the fishing pier, playing putt-putt at Mutiny Bay, taking evening strolls down the beach and playing exciting games of dominoes and Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader( We are not smarter than fifth graders, lol) in the dining room. We are all excited to return next summer to this lovely home.

  The house was exactly what we hoped for: close proximity to the beach, quiet and "non-touristy." Our goal was to take our toddler away for the week and spend one on one time w/him before his new baby brother arrives and we were able to do that all week despite the rainy and windy (17-30 mph winds all week). The kitchen is fully stocked w/pans and pots and utensils so meals were never "half" made. The amount of rooms were perfect for additional guests to come down for a few days. Everything in the house feels clean and fairly new. It's apparent that the house is taken care of by the present owners. Having the keypad door was so convenient for check in and for use of the house throughout the week. Our only recommendation is to add someway to lock the door from the inside - our toddler was quick to learn that the front door was not locked and he could easily open the door. Using the baby gate outside his room at night squashed our fears of him wandering out in the middle of the night but still made us a bit wary. We will definitely consider renting this house next year!

  PERFECT. That says it all. Perfect cottage, perfect location, perfect vacation. Cottage was well equipped and beautifully decorated. Such an easy walk to the beach, an oceanfront view without the oceanfront price. Owner was pleasant and easy to work with, excellent communication. Can't wait to return.

  Awesome beach home. The interior is lovely. The views incredible. Just a few steps to the beach. The hot tub was nice and hot on a cold night.

  This was our first vacation in South Nags Head. We have been vacationing on Hatteras Island one or two times each year since 1993. We decided to try here due to access restrictions to Hatteras Island(as a result of Hurricane Irene), and we are glad to have done so. It is beautiful here, and I agree with an earlier writer, in all the years of coming to the NC shore, this house tops all others. Thanks!

  The kids loved playing games of backgammon and foosball in the loft. There were many games played all day long at the dining room table. Wonderful house with awesome views. We enjoyed the hot tub and deck. The kids loved all the TVs (no cable at home). The parents loved the details of the house.

  Our first year at this house. We loved it! Great location and adorable house. Only two negatives: need better drainage in the outside shower and the driveway can be a bit hard to navigate. But we had a great 4 1/2 days. Sad to leave early. Maybe next year...

  The house received a makeover since we were here last and we could have not been more pleased with all the improvements. The attention to detail was wonderful and it was great to finally have the worn out furniture and appliances replaced--not to mention all the additional amenities. It was also nice to have shelves and cabinets to put our toiletries in the bathrooms! We all agreed that this was one of the best years if not the best year we've ever spent here (we've been staying here at this house for 12 years now). And what a lovely basket and card from the new owners who obviously really care about the property! We already signed up to stay there next year and can hardly wait to go back. Kudos to the new owners for making our stay more comfortable and enjoyable.

  We're very impressed with the new owners' improvements. Compared to the previous years that we stayed here, it's like a new house! (We were the unfortunate family staying here last year when the foreclosure sign was nailed to the front door in the middle of our stay! What a turnaround!) We're already looking forward to next year!

  Thanks to the new owners with lots of talent and energy, this wonderfully located beach house has been transformed from a very tired rental to a lovely little gem. We've leased this house well over ten years based on its location, now with the major changes made to both interior and exterior, it's about location and house!

  After speding the past 12 years vacationing here, we were thoroughly impressed and thrilled with the much needed upgrades, repairs and additions. Having these little luxuries made the whole week more enjoyable. Kudos to the new owners and their attention to detail! We will be back next year!

  Having experienced the deterioration of this house over the years, we were overwhelmed with its transformation. What was once a very tired rental property with a superb location is now a sparkling little gem! All of the changes to the baths and kitchen, long awaited new bedding, beautiful new furniture and professional integration of light and color throughout are magnificent. Thanks much for making such a difference!

  This house is outstanding. The view is beyond amazing. The interior is gorgeous. A perfect getaway . . . I hate to even share this gem through a review, but it earns it's stars, so if your looking for an AMAZING spot (which includes a huge furnished deck overlooking the ocean), look no more!

  We thoroughly enjoyed your beach cottage. The views are spectacular. We enjoyed watching the dolphins and pelicans feeding offshore. Ans stargazing was enjoyable. We really don't want to leave your paradise.

  I had my wedding at this location and had family from out of town. Everybody raved about the place and of course the breathtaking views. The house was very well maintained and had all the amenities you could ask for. We felt we got outstanding bang for the buck.
