Royal Mauian condo description
This spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bath ground floor condominium home recently underwent a complete renovation.
Both the kitchen and master bath are now larger than the typical Royal Mauian floor plan. Everything is new - walls, ceilings, floors, appliances, shower, bath tub, furniture and dishes.
Conveniently located on the ground floor, this unit is on the south corner of the building farthest away from the street. It is very easy to park near the home and come into the end without having to go through the entire building each time you come and go. We are only a few short steps to the pool and grassy lawn, and a few more to the sandy beach and ocean beyond. The view is as shown in the photos and is considered a partial view. You can see the ocean from both the master bedroom and the lanai. We enjoy breakfast and lunch on the lanai and usually have dinner on the rooftop deck to watch the sunset.
The master bedroom has a California King-size bed, ceiling fan, flat screen TV and walk-in closet. The ensuite master bathroom is remodeled and enlarged.
The second bedroom features twin beds that can be bound together to make a comfortable second King-size bed if desired. (We have a top of the line converter kit with a mattress topper and will have it all ready if this is the configuration you wish - we have slept on it and you can not tell it was not a king-size mattress - very comfy). The second bathroom includes an extra deep bathtub with shower.
The kitchen has been enlarged and features new tile flooring, granite countertops and all brand new stainless steel appliances. There is an eating bar with pendant lights and counter stools and a wide selection of small appliances (coffee maker, blender, toaster, etc.) to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
For entertainment, this suite includes a flat screen television in the living room complete with DVD player. There are also flat screen televisions in each of the bedrooms. In addition, there is an IPOD dock and an IPOD with a variety of music in case you forgot yours or would like a change.
We have wireless internet service and a secured router. There is also a small safe for you to secure your valuables if you wish.
We have been adding some wonderful local artwork to our home. We are using many local Hawaiian artists. You may recognize Mark MacKay's ceramic koi or Scott Green's metal honu or even a couple of Alex Arthur's exciting and colorful local photographs.
We are new to the Royal Mauian, purchasing our home in September of 2011 and completing a full remodel mid-December. We love the area and even if you are not staying with us, we encourage you to stay at the Royal Mauian. It is a beautifully maintained resort and has the best location in Kihei. It is the only resort that I know of that has that fabulous roof top garden with BBQ grills and tables and a spectacular view of the ocean, nearby islands and the Haleakala volcano. The guests are also very friendly enjoying a glass of wine together in the evening or watching their children and grandchildren play together.

- Sun bathing, relaxing, snorkeling is right off the end of our grassy lawn. Also very fun and relaxing is the Ocenafront Yoga at the Nalu right next door. The Royal Mauian has a spectacular location - it is a short walk to many wonderful restaurants and shops. If you like to walk - you can take the beach down to the Shops at Wailea (We like to go in the morning for coffee). Snorkling is very good off of the lava flow in front of the resort. Also I have heard the whales are already beginning to arrive, but have not seen them myself. It is spectacular to watch the mother whales and their calves swimming right in front of the resort. there are also green sea turtles that call this area home....moreless

We have just returned from our stay in this awesome condo and already have booked our next stay! We cannot say enough good things about the location and amenities of this unit- the rooftop BBQ area at sunset, the pool, the proximity to the beach, shopping and restaurants, the clean, spacious rooms and great closets, fully equipped kitchen...everything was great! Susan was always quick to respond to any questions we had before our stay. I would highly recommend this unit for any family looking for a relaxing home away from home.

Owner response: Leann was a great guest to work with and I am thrilled that she is joining our family of "regulars". It is really great to have the same people stay each year - it really does feel like family sharing our home. Susan
A wonderful unit in Kehei
A wonderful unit in Kehei
I would definitely stay in this unit again. The building location was great for our young family with VERY easy access to beach, shops, groceries, coffee, ice cream, playground, etc. The unit is accurately described in the listing and Susan was very helpful with answering all of our extra questions -- before and during our trip. It was extremely clean with unique, local decorations. Our oldest child used the pull out couch and he slept well on it. The second bedroom held two single beds for the two girls. There was plenty of room for their clothes and toys and books. The master bedroom also had it's own entrance to the lanai - so with our son sleeping on the pull out couch in the living room, there's access to go outside without disturbing him. The air conditioner worked awesome -- cooling off the whole unit very quickly. The kitchen was stocked with spices and there was a great selection of pots, pans, tupperware, and even a cooler for taking snacks to the beach! It was also helpful to have the selection of sand toys for the kids - including a boogie board and beach chairs. We ended up renting more boogie boards from across street at Annie's snorkel (we used a 2 for 1 coupon that was available in the room ). We were steps away from the beach and could watch the sunset over the water from the lanai. We loved that it was on the ground floor.

Wow - vacation of a lifetime !!
I escorted my 70+ year old parents from South Dakota on their first trip to Hawaii. As the planning process began, my father stated" You are the daughter that will show me the world." I am the travel bunny child-with pressure like that I knew that I couldn't let my Dad down. After viewing the images of Susan's condo -- I knew instantly the place/location was perfect for our Maui stay. The first thing my Dad stated when he walked in the door "I don't know if I will ever leave here." Unfortunately the time does come & you must return home. This condo provides all travelers a luxurious place to stay in the middle of Kihei. Easy access to everything- rental shops, breakfast locations, restaurants, grocery stores etc across the street. Omg the beds --definitely provide a good nights sleep. The appliance are all brand new. On the rooftop is an area to socialize with other guests/ grill out. Being on the first floor & an end unit take a right and you will walk directly to the beach or take a left and you will walk to your car. The place is very quiet. Honestly, the only negative thing I can say - eventually you have to go home !!! Susan -- Thank you for opening your home to me & my parents. We loved it. Truly was a trip of a lifetime for all of us. I am already planning my return trip in the Spring - this time with friends.

"Comfortable & a perfect location"Guest comment entered by owner
"Comfortable & a perfect location"
My wife and I stayed here with our 3 kids for a week. It was fantastic. Very comfortable and recently remodeled. The location was the best. Location: The Royal Mauian is on a point with great beaches immediately to the north and south. I prefer the one to the south as it is more spacious, prettier and an easier walk from the room. But we are just talking steps here! The best part is the reef that is directly in front of the property. This is an active sea turtle reef and considered the best snorkeling around. We rented equipment across the street and swam with sea turtles multiple times! There was one sea turtle that was as big as me (I'm over 6'). My kids and I followed him for the longest time. Beautiful fish and lava rock and coral abound. Many people just stand at the edge of the property and watch the turtles as they frolic in the reef and eat. Susan, the owner, is extremely responsive and friendly. She is a delight to work with. When we arrived there was a miscommunication and the two twin beds had been made into a big bed. We needed them as two beds and she had someone there in 5 minutes to fix it. She is very organized and detail oriented. The kitchen is great and has everything. Beautiful granite counters and stainless steel appliances. It has a washer and dryer. The master bath is big and nicely designed. The beds are very comfortable. The second bedroom got a little warm because of it's distance from the air conditioner but we kept the door open for circulation. The location of the unit is along the side of the building but you can still see the ocean from the master bedroom. We preferred this location because it was quiet and you didn't have to worry about noise from the pool area. The roof top patio is great for a barbecue at sunset. Across the street there is a mini market and an amazing cinnamon roll place run by the sweetest lady from Michigan. We ate a lot of cinnamon rolls! Great restaurants and shops are literally across the street from the property. The Cafe O'Lei is really good and top rated in the guidebooks. Bottom line, this is a wonderful property and we didn't have enough time with one week. We can't wait to go back!

OUR FAMILY MAUI VACATION
OUR FAMILY MAUI VACATION
The location of this Kihei condo was right on the money. Close to everything we wanted to do or needed to buy. The listing photos were exactly as pictured, rooms, décor, outside areas. Condo was clean and well-maintained. All the comforts of home and the sleeping arrangements gave us a restful nights sleep. We had only one concern and the owner addressed it quickly. Also, owner gave us many good tips about restaurants and activities and the binder in the condo was extremely helpful to us as far as information. We would certainly recommend this condo to relatives and friends and plan on doing so. The beach access was just a few steps away. We enjoyed swimming in the ocean and snorkeling with the turtles and the beautifully colored fish. We took advantage of the rooftop barbeques and ate many meals as we watched the gorgeous sunsets. Our granddaughters took surfing lessons and enjoyed the open air markets with many choices from which to purchase items. We went to the Old Lahaina Luau (good food, entertainment and watching Hawaiian wood carving, using Hawaiian instruments with a little dancing), Hawaiian jewelery to look at and listening to some Hawaiian culture tales. We enjoyed the many shops in Lahaina and the big Banyan tree in the center courtyard. Also, attended the theatre production of Ulalena, the story of how Maui came to be. We drove to Iao Valley, lovely area and did some hiking. We drove to Haleakala Crater, absolutely breathtaking and then down to Tedesci Winery for a tour and a picnic lunch. Also, before the end of our trip we went to the Whalers Villlage in Kaanapoli and took a catamaran dinner cruise, also good food and the feeling we took with us being out on that beautiful water, watching the waves and scenery. Also, our family went ziplining on the North Shore and what a fun and exciting adventure. We did many things in the short time we were there, but all unforgettable. Thanks again!! WILL RETURN NEXT TIME FOR MUCH LONGER.

All the comforts of home
All the comforts of home
We would completely recommend this property! We were within walking distance of a natural grocery store and restuarants which was great. There were two beaches on either side of the property, and both were great. Not too crowded. As far as the condo itself, it was very recently remodled and is beautiful! The owners have it stocked with many items that we don't usually see in rentals such as spices and lots of cookware, beach supplies, shampoo, etc. I would say that 4 people is about what this condo fits comforably for people to have enough space, although it could sleep up to 6. The property seems to be quiet and we didn't have any problems with noise. It is well maintained and the groundskeepers are seen hard at work all the time. Would definatley recommend....had no complaints at all.

Fabulous home away from home
Fabulous home away from home
Being that I use to live in Kihei, I was very selective of where I wanted to stay. This was going to be my first trip staying in a rental and it was the first time my husband and 4 girls were going to be experiencing Maui and I wanted it to be perfect. I knew that the Royal Mauian was an excellent choice and this unit, and the fabulous owner, did not disappoint. This unit looks and is described perfectly. I would stay here over and over again. Why? 1. Everything was new and clean in the unit. 2. They had all the amenities needed, 3. It slept 6 comfortably, 4. The grounds were spectacular and very well maintained, 5. It was nice without being stuffy. I felt comfortable having 4 young children there, 6. It was in walking distance to everything you might need in Kihei, 7. You have two great beaches to choose from right our your front door. and 8. the owners were fabulous to work with. Take it from an ex-local...the Royal Mauian is the perfect spot if you want to be in Kihei. I give it a 10 out of 10! Besides answering all my questions about the unit and amenities, the owner was so nice to take the time to answer other questions I had. My husband and I were renewing our vows and I asked her about photographers, flowers, someone to renew our vows, etc. She was nice enough to ask around and get some information for me. We had a wonderful anniversary. And here is a tip for those of you on a food budget. Hit up the local food trucks! We stopped at Costco and got everything we needed for simple breakfasts and lunch items to take in a cooler to the beach. Then, we opted for an early dinner at a food truck. There are several located close to the condo. We would pick up our good eats and then go sit on the rooftop at the Royal Mauian. It was perfect and no clean up!

Owner response: It was so fun to know there was going to be a Wedding! It was wonderful to ask my "Maui Friends" for their input and to see Erica planning her renewal of vows . This was a first for our home and I hope not the last. I loved seeing the photos - Erica looked so beautiful and her family seemed to be having such a good time. The wedding photos are posted on our Facebook page if you would like to see them. I am excited to host them again. Susan

Could not have found a better place...
We could not have found a better place to stay than in room 119 at the Royal Mauian with our family. This newly remodeled and immaculate condo had every amenity and convenience that we needed during our stay. The owner has thought of everything, and was so helpful and accommodating of our needs before, during and after our stay. The condo's location between Kamaole Beaches 1 & 2 puts it at the center of Kihei shops and restaurants. We were able to cross the street and find great food for breakfast & snorkel rental or just drive a mile up the road for groceries. We went on so many adventures around Maui, but being based in Kihei was ideal, it was so easy to get everywhere! The Kamaole beaches offer a range of wave intensity from very mellow areas great for little kids to bigger waves on Kamaole 3 for boogie boarders. We went snorkeling right out in front of the building every day and saw beautiful coral, fish and sea turtles! We loved that we didn't have to cross the street or go downstairs to get to the beach, we could just walk right out from the patio with all of our gear. The pool is also right by the shore and a nice place to spend the afternoon. The rooftop garden is a great place to grill (or we ordered pizza) and have dinner chatting with others in the building. The fact that the condo is a partial ocean view was completely offset by the easy access to the beach, garden, pool as well as the lovely ambiance inside the condo itself! (There was plenty of space for all of us, four adults and two young children each in a pack & play)

Beautiful rental. Ideal location.
We spent six nights here and plan to return - both to Maui and this rental. I almost don't want to share this review in the hopes the condo will be available for our next trip ... Delivers exactly what is promised in the photos, even more. The owner emailed to ask if we needed anything. I asked for shopping recommendations for our daughters (souvenirs) as ideas for eating out. She replied immediately. Before and during our stay she was extremely helpful. We ate many meals at the condo and the kitchen had everything we needed. Steps away from a great beach and only minutes from other destinations (snorkeling, etc.) So comfortable, like being at home, only better. Laundry facilities saved us - always had fresh swimming suits. Plenty of towels and amenities. Ideal for families. What I liked best about this accommodation:Location, amenities, friendliness, condition. What I liked least about this accommodation: Loved everything. I Recommend This For: "Absolutely, I would recommend this accommodation to my best friend!"

About the owner: We are the Sipe Family: Al, Susan, Parker and Spencer, from the Seattle, WA area. This photo is from September 2012 when we had the rare opportunity for all of us to vacation together. In this photo we are 'On the Road to Hana'.
Why the Owner Chose Royal Mauian:
As our two boys have gotten older we wanted a place where we could all meet, relax and play together. It took us nearly 2 years to find the ideal property - we believe that the Royal Mauian is it. Gorgeous, well-maintained property, walking distance to everything and so much to do for all generations.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
While Seattle is beautiful and green in the summer - it can get pretty gray and dreary from the fall through the spring. We love to come to Maui for a 'sunshine break'. It really improves everyone's mood. The water is great for swimming and other water sports. We have just started to paddleboard - it is harder than it looks. Royal Mauian is perfect for us - the sandy beachs are right there and the lava outcropping is great for snorkling and scuba diving - a hobby we all share. Recently we started naming the turtles that live off the shore. We are eager to get to know the whales that well also!
