Me and my family rented this home the week of July 4th. We couldn't have been happier with our stay! The home is located perfectly for walking downtown and biking around. It's also a perfect spot to watch the annual 4th of July parade....you can sit right on the porch or front yard. The neighbors on either side were very nice, both introduced themselves and were very curtious. The home is nicely furnished and well stocked with all you kitchen essentials. A loaf of fresh bread even awaited us upon arrival. The home is kid friendly and the middle bedroom has enough room for a portable crib. Our only disappointment was there was no air conditioning and most of the windows lacked screens. Also, the backyard does not have a back fence, so the kids had to be supervised at all times. The yard is large with a nice patio and grass area. It's nicely landscaped with plenty of room for the kids to play ball and run around. The bathrooms are roomy and nicely renovated and the beds were supy comfy!! We were more than pleased with our stay!! The property managers were also very easy to communicate with and very accommodating.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

My two daughters (ages 18 and 21) and I stayed at this lovely home for two nights at the end of July. The home is exactly as pictured, appears to be newly remodeled, and is nicely furnished. I was happily surprised that the home was absolutely immaculate, the beds were comfortable, and there was even a loaf of cinnamon bread baking in the bread machine in the kitchen when we arrived. What a nice touch! The reservation agents were easy to work with, and there was plenty of information on activities in the area helpfully provided on the living room table. We recommend the Shasta Caverns tour, hiking to the waterfalls in Fowler campgrounds, and driving up to the mountain to hike around Panther Meadows. The downtown (just around the corner from the house) is cute and eclectic. We loved the giant salads at Zak's Koffee house. People are friendly. We're glad we visited--and glad we chose this house! One thing to note if renting in the summer months: the house is not air-conditioned. The temperatures soared near 100 degrees during our stay. There is one large ceiling fan in the living room, which helped, and the cool breeze at night through the windows was lovely...but we did not feel safe sleeping with our windows open, as the house faces a heavily trafficked street, and many of the windows facing the front of the home had no window screens at all. If there had been ceiling fans in the bedrooms, it would have been comfortable, but there weren't, and both nights were hot. If you're visiting in cooler months, this would not be a problem.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
