Wonderful rental! The house was large enough for a party of three couples to have plenty of space. The kitchen is well sized, modern and sufficiently equipped, which was nice because we prepared all our meals at home. The location is very convenient for all of the major north Tahoe ski resorts, close to downtown Truckee for shopping, and just a short drive from the shore of Lake Tahoe (Kings Beach). We all loved that there was no TV in the living room, which encouraged "no screen" socialization and lots of fun games. The hot tub was a welcome treat after my first day of skiing since 2007. I highly recommend this VRBO.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children.

My family and I stayed at this lovely house a few weeks back for an extended weekend. The pictures do not do the house justice. My wife loves to cook and was in heaven in this kitchen. Everything for a family get away was provided, even shampoo and great conditioner. This house is close lots of great things to do. In downtown Truckee, we ate at Squeeze for breakfast and suggest that you do the same. We went on an excellent river rafting trip (www.raftirie.com), the meeting point was walking distance to the house. Squaw Valley is less then 20 minutes from the house by car...GREAT day trip to the top of the mountain, suggest you bring your swim suits and good hiking shoes. Ok, this house is not on the water but could not be more convenient to lots of local places to go. We also spent a day in North Lake Tahoe, also a great place and very quaint. There was so much to do even without the snow. It is a great location to enjoy the fresh air and mild beautiful weather. Back to the house, lots of space to spread out and hang along with a huge selection of DVDs for the kids and or family watching... High end washer and dryer are an added bonus as we did not to have to do laundry once we got home. Master bath steam shower is another huge bonus as well as the hot tub out back. Looking forward to returning soon!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We would definitely stay at this house again. The home is new, yet is comfortable, not sterile. We used the instant fireplace and the private spa. The home is located right off the freeway so it feels like you can get on your way quickly. It is close to downtown Truckee and an easy drive to Northstar, Squaw and Reno. We cooked and there was everything we needed to prepare our wonderful meals. Coffeemaker, griddle, slow cooker, and a popcorn maker are just a few small appliances we used. We watched movies they own and there were board games, magazines, and tour books to enjoy. The TV's were great too. It felt like we were staying at a friend's house. The property is well maintained and easy to keep clean. I highly recommend this property.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

This house is amazing! Every detail is thought through, the layout and furnishing is spot on with every need catered for. Love the separate living area and hot tub deck as well as the steam/shower. The bed in the master suite was like a "Princess and the Pea' moment! The location is fantastic for all the best snowboarding resorts and Truckee itself is only a stones throw away. The owners are really helpful, and I highly recommend this house for anyone wanting a home away from home in the mountains - you won't be disappointed...We can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas in this home! It was the perfect vacation home for our family -- hot tub and DVDs for the kids, wonderful kitchen for mom and lovely sitting area around the fireplace for dad. The home is brand new and beautifully decorated, even more lovely than we expected. The kitchen is completely outfitted for any level of cook. The owners were very helpful in getting us settled in, even leaving Christmas decorations for our use. I would highly recommend this property!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: We enjoy spending time with family and friends in this beautiful and comfortable home! Truckee is our quick get-away from our life in the Bay Area and we love how relaxing it is! We are avid skiers and snow enthusiasts but also enjoy all the wonders of nature, the gorgeous lakes and exciting activities that summer in Truckee offers!
Why the Owner Chose Truckee:
This development is fantastic! New homes, friendly neighbors and easy access to the ski areas, to Lake Tahoe and to Donner Lake. Even in snow storms the roads all around us are flat and cleared! It's a short 15 minute walk to quaint downtown Truckee with outstanding restaurants and shops.
The Truckee Regional Park enjoys a playground, skateboard park, frisbee golf, golf, summer concerts (Wednesday nights), rodeo, carnival and a farmer's market, ice skating rink (winter) and it's only a 5 minute walk away! You can also access a great walking/jogging trail along the Truckee River from the park. The town of Truckee booms with excitement every Thursday evening during the summer with a weekly street fair, and throughout the year there are many great festivals and fairs.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Everything you want is close by - skiing, hiking, swimming, shopping, grocery stores, restaurants, bars. If you want the nightlife Reno has to offer, it's only 30 minutes away!
But often we don't even want to go out.... the house is so comfortable, with a hot tub and steam shower you can have your own spa day right at home! The kitchen is well stocked and fun to cook in! Or cozy up on the loft and watch TV or movies!
