Cross the one-lane bridge to Treasure Island and you're instantly on island time and ready to relax. Although you're still close to town (about a one and a half hour drive from Seattle, and 30+ minutes from both Bremerton and Tacoma), you'll feel a million miles away. This is the perfect destination for a family getaway, ladies weekend, or romantic retreat! We are pet-friendly and family-friendly.
You'll love the unobstructed, waterfront views which you see from the moment you enter the house. The main level of the house includes the living room with wood-burning fireplace, kitchen, dining area, master bedroom and full bath.
The lower level has its own living area complete with TV/DVD combo, couch with full size pullout bed, a private bedroom with two twin beds, a second full bathroom, and outdoor access. The set-up makes for a great stay for families with kids or couples as the 2 levels really provide for your own space!
Relax on the large deck with a drink and your loved ones while watching the sun set from your West-facing view. Play a board game after dinner with your family in front of the fire. Visit one of the state’s remaining Drive In Theatres, located about a 20 minute drive from the house. Go for a walk or run around the island (it loops around, and is about a mile and a half). Dig for clams and cook them outside over the fire pit - or roast marshmallows there. And don't forget to enjoy the waters of the Case Inlet -- boating, swimming, fishing, kayaking and more!
Looking to explore the area? Other things to do:
- GOLF: Lakeland Village, the course at Alderbrook Resort, Trophy Lake (18 holes), and championship courses Gold Mountain (36 holes) and McCormick Woods (18 holes are all within a 30 minute drive.
- HIKE: Checkout the Theler Wetlands in Belfair, or take a 3-mile hike to the Mt. Elinor Trailhead. There are countless trails in the Olympic National Forest.
- WATER ACTIVITIES: Rent a kayak in Allyn, go swimming, dig for clams, rent a fishing pole and gear from Hood Canal Adventures in Union, visit one of the many public access boat launches or beaches for a picnic, swim, or adventure on the beach.
- DAY TRIPS: Spend a relaxing afternoon driving along US Highway 101, checking out the Hood Canal. Make stops along the way to visit Hoodsport Winery, Potlatch State Park, or seafood markets and shops in Lilliwaup and Hoodsport. Visit the High Steel Bridge, 420 feet above the Skykomish River. Other day trips include visiting Port Townsend, Bainbridge Island, Bremerton, Olympia, and of course Seattle.
- MUSEUMS & GALLERIES: Mason County Historical Museum in Shelton, McReavy House in Union, Skokomish Tribal Center and Museum in Skokomish Nation, Harstine Island Gallery in Shelton.
- CHAINSAW CARVING: Don’t miss the George Kenny School of Chainsaw Carving in Allyn.
- FARMERS MARKET: Visit the Belfair, Shelton, and Harstine Island Farmers Markets.
- WINERIES: Hoodsport Winery, Walter Dacon Wines, Mosquito Fleet Winery, Nanstad Winery, and 2 tasting rooms/gift shops: Top of the Cork in Allyn, and Cameo Boutique in Union.
The house has everything you will need for a perfect, stress-free getaway - beach towels, linens, a small but well-equipped kitchen, iPod sound docks, charcoal BBQ, servingware for entertaining, board games, cable TV, wireless internet, and so much more. You'll love the special touches we've included from Pottery Barn furnishings to Henckel cutlery.
Traveling with a large group? The lower levels of our property are perfect for tents. Traveling with kids or pets? We recently installed a gate on the deck to keep little ones and pets from trying out the stairs. We know you'll love our beach house as much as we do!

A friend of mine recommended this for a quick easy family getaway! It was the perfect place for our family to unwind and relax. The weather made it rather difficult to get outside but we had the best time staying indoors playing games and watching movies. The place was clean and we had everything we needed to make our stay a home away from home. The owner was flexible and so easy to work with. She even accommodated a last minute rescheduling when a family emergency came up! It was just what our family needed to recharge and we are definitely planning on coming back. Thank you!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We had such a fun and relaxing weekend at this cozy cabin on Treasure Island! The cabin itself is very comfortable, and beautifully decorated - exactly what I look for in a weekend getaway. The setting is peaceful and private, and the views from the cabin and deck are beautiful. Emily could not have been more pleasant to work with, and she even checked in with us via email during our stay just to make sure that we got there alright and to offer assistance if we had any questions. I would definitely recommend this lovely cabin to anyone looking for a charming place to stay on adorable Treasure Island. The island itself, by the way, is unique and fun to walk around via the road (about a 25 - 30 min walk) or the beach. So many seashells, sea stars, etc! We hope to return sometime soon!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

A friend recommended this cabin and boy am I grateful. It was the perfect Seattle getaway with a 1 month old and 7 year old. I could see my 7 year old from the porch. We dug for clams daily and feasted every night. Rented paddle boards in town. Hiked around at low tide. Had a lemonade stand. Biked around the island. The cabin was well appointed with everything we needed and was super comfy. We invited friends down for dinner one night and had a fire down by the water. It was just lovely. Would come again.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We just got back from staying at your cabin for a few days and we did not want to leave. Your house is wonderful. The kitchen is well stocked, the many windows and large deck were great to watch the tide come in and out , and the beds soft and comfy for a great night sleep. We had beach fires every night to watch the sunset and roast smores and jiffy pop-what is a vacation without that? We dug clams and steamed them over the fire and even made clam chowder-yummy. Our dog even helped us dig for clams. She loved the beach and thank you for the hoses to rinse her off and the many beach towels for the beach. We played games, went for walks , read books, explored the area and had a great family bonding time. The attention to detail is amazing . We have rented from VRBO many times and this is right there at the top. Thank you again for ending our summer with a bang and we will be back. Jeff, Kristi, Darbi Lamb and Khloi-woof woof...Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family spent 2 weeks at The Bacon Beach House and we all agreed, it was the best family vacation we have ever had. The pictures do not do the house or the location justice. It was beautifully decorated, with every convenience you could need. Emily was more than helpful, answering any questions we had and providing information about nearby attractions. Treasure Island is the perfect get away. The island is quiet and safe, we had no qualms about letting our 7 and 10 year olds ride their bikes around the island on their own. You are only a short drive to shopping, restaurants, movies, kayaking and so much more. We managed to see Shelton, Silverdale, Seattle, Belfair, and Bremerton during our stay,as well as nearby Allyn which has a gem of an antique shop as well as some of the most amazing chainsaw carved woodwork. We brought a bear named "Allyn" home with us to sit on our front steps. Not a day has gone by since our return that I have not wished I was back on Treasure Island. Emily, thank you for opening up your home and sharing it with us. We will all cherish the memories we made there. I would recommend this property to anyone.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Dear Michael and family, thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to write this wonderful review! I loved our e-mail conversations in preparation for your stay, especially brainstorming fun ideas for your family vacation on Treasure Island. During the 2 weeks you were at our home, I thought of your family every day wondering what kind of fun you were up to. It sounds like you definitely made the best of the 2 weeks! I know it is quite a journey for you, but we'd love to have you back someday. Take care! Sincerely, Emily

Over and around July 4th I spent eight days at the cabin with my college roommate and my dog. It was the most peaceful and relaxing vacation I've ever had. We all spent hours on either the upper or lower decks reading, relaxing, watching the boats go by. We met friendly neighbors, one of which brought us steamed clams and butter one evening! My dog swam for hours. We took walks every day around the island, meeting even more neighbors (I now know the full story behind every pet a 10 year old girl has known so far). We walked to Fair Harbor Marina, bought coffee, and sat on the floating dock talking to boaters as they arrived. Boy, it's hard to write this and not want to be there now! The cabin itself is very charming. Nice open floor plan that uses the space wisely. The beds were comfortable and the decor welcoming. The entire place was quite clean and well taken care of. Many many chairs around the cabin and the decks for people to sit on. Except for a few days of fireworks, it was very quiet and serene. You have a nice feeling of privacy without feeling isolated. My hope is that the family adopts me so that I can live there whenever it's not rented...or to win the lottery and buy a place nearby. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable experience.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Hi Marsha! WOW! We cannot tell you how thrilled we are that you had such an amazing getaway. As you said, your Best Vacation Ever... we are honored!! We have always felt that there is a special and unique charm to Treasure Island and it sounds like you experienced that as well. Your week sounds much like times we have spent out there, from walking around the island to visiting the marina and so much more. We would absolutely love to have you back as our guest anytime! Thanks and enjoy the rest of your summer. It was truly a delight working with you on your vacation! Emily

My husband and I rented this beach house last summer and invited another couple. It couldn't have been more perfect! The house is two levels, so it was perfect for 4 adults because we had our own living space but shared the kitchen and fabulous deck. We enjoyed our weekend going on runs, bike rides, watching the deer in the yard, BBQing, and relaxing on the deck with our favorite pinot grigio. The house was clean, well maintained, the owner was great to work with, and I would recommend this house to anyone. We're excited to go back this September!Recommended for: People with disabilities, pet owners, girls getaway.
Owner response: Hi Cara! Thank you so much for writing such a thoughtful review. We also love sitting out on the deck and enjoying a glass of wine! We loved having you and Tim as our guests & can't wait to have you back soon! I think you'll love the updates we've made since your last visit. Talk to you soon, Emily

We spent a few days on Treasure Island for our spring break vacation and had a wonderful time. The house was clean and cozy and the beach was perfect for walks and digging for clams. We hope to be back soon.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2000
About the owner: Originally purchased by our family of 4, we love creating more memories there as our family expands.
Why the Owner Chose Treasure Island:
We originally visited Treasure Island back in the 90's with some friends who have a house on the island. Our family fell in love with the charm of the island and the one lane bridge. When this house came up for sale, we bought it! Having lived in Seattle for many years, it was just the right distance to go for a quick weekend trip, or longer. It's the Northwest area at its best!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Being directly on the waterfront is the best, with easy access for all kinds of water related activities. We have spent many summer days digging for clams right in front of the house, and cooking them right there over the firepit. We love grilling on the charcoal BBQ in the summer, and lighting a fire in the fireplace in the winter.
