La casa del piano is a stunning reconversion of an 18th century convent in keeping with the rustic character and traditional charm of the original building. It was our main family home for over ten years so this is definitely more than an ordinary holiday let !
The house includes :
- three airy double bedrooms, - two bathrooms, one with bath tube and one with walk-in shower. - a study with desk, library and reliable internet connection for working holidays, - two spacious lounges, with fire places, sofas, armchairs, a well tuned up-right 1938 piano and plenty of corners.
Oak beams, twisty walls, hand glazed tiles, a choice of terraces and a tropical Andalusian courtyard, beautifully weathered terracotta floors - it has bags and bags of character; still there's all mod cons too - large la screen TV, DVD player, a well appointed kitchen with extra large SMEG cooker.
The house is well equipped for kiddies with football table and board games. a fenced off splash pool (3m x 4 m) and a play ground at the end of our quiet, traffic-free pedestrian street. The house is both spacious and stylish, a pretty attractive home-from-home.
Just a stone´s throw from the village square and local shops, restaurants and bars. Here you can enjoy the very best of being in a very traditional and classically beautiful ¨pueblo blanco¨ with great views over the glorious sweep of countryside below the village, over to the Rock of Gibraltar.
Jimena is on the well known ´bird super highway¨… each year millions of birds travel from Sub-Saharan Africa to nest all over Europe. They funnel across the Strait of Gibraltar, over Jimena and, eventually, on into Europe. Walk directly from the house to view swallows, black storks, white storks, red kites, ospreys, wag-tails, etc…
Jimena de la Frontera is ideally situated to provide easy access to Blue Flag Mediterranean beaches 20 minutes' drive away, excellent restaurants, shops and superb golf courses (Valderrama, Sotogrande, etc) along the coast.
Bakers and fish sellers come every day with their van to deliver fresh bread, sweet local goodies, and sea food. Supermarkets, banks are at walking distance from the house.
The wonderful cities of Seville, Cordoba, Jerez, Tarifa, Grenada and Malaga are all less than 3 hours away - and Morocco is a 30-min ferry ride.

About the owner: My partner and I took a three month Andalusian break from our busy city lives in Paris and London... we fell in love with this region, a perfect cross-roads for travelers: Andalusia with its strong culture, breathtaking and ever changing landscapes ... but also on the doorstep to Africa !
We extended our stay ... a wedding, two children and thousands of new places later, tseventeen beautiful years have passed ! We are now living in the Albayzin quarter of Granada always searching more special places to share with our visitors !
We still spend time in Jimena for holidays. It´s a great place to entertain friends !
