A former 18th century convent, carefully restored by the American architect Kit Smith to make a stunning three double bedrooms / two bathrooms family home (two queens beds, and one room with Twin Beds.)
The property consists of a very large house (about 3000 ft²) with chef gourmet kitchen and an up-right piano for musical evenings between friends. The townhouse is surrounding a central Andalusian courtyard with tropical plants, with its own well and a 4m x 3m splash pool. There is also a summer room for cool afternoon siestas !
¨la casa del piano retains many original features, such as fire places, oak beams, woodwork and hand painted terracotta tiling. Furnishings combine comfort in keeping with the style of the region and preservation of the house, two modern bathrooms, one with bath/ one with shower, two spacious living room with fire places and a fully-equipped kitchen. Perfect for a couple or a family, or a group of friends.
It is located in the most sought after part of the historic “pueblo” of Jimena de la Frontera in the only pedestrian street in the village, calle San Sebastian.
Jimena is on the well known ´bird super highway¨… each years millions of birds travel from Sub-Saharan Africa to nest all over Europe. They funnel across the Strait of Gibraltar, over Jimena and, eventually, on into Europe. Walk directly from the house to view swallows, black storks, white storks, red kites, ospreys, wag-tails, etc…
La casa del Piano is ideally situated to provide easy access to Blue Flag Mediterranean beaches 20 minutes' drive away, excellent restaurants, shops and superb golf courses (Valderrama, Sotogrande, etc) along the coast.
Bakers and fish sellers come every day with their van to deliver fresh bread, sweet specialities, and sea food. Many bar/restaurants are just around the corner. Supermarkets, banks are at walking fistance from the house.
The wonderful cities of Seville, Cordoba, Jerez, Tarifa, Grenada and Malaga are all less than 3 hours away - and Morocco is a 30-min ferry crossing from Tarifa.
A studio annex for two, with its own lounge, TV, DVD player, shower room and kitchenette is available at extra cost. Quality white linens provided. Daily cleaning available at additional cost.

My partner and I took a three month Andalusian break from our busy city lives in Paris and London... we fell in love with this region, a perfect cross-roads for travelers: Andalusia with its strong culture, breathtaking and ever changing landscapes ... but also on the doorstep to Africa ! We extended our stay ... a wedding, two children and thousands of new places later, thirteen beautiful years have passed ! We are now living in the Albayzin quarter of Granada always searching more special places to share with our visitors ! We still spend time in Jimena for holidays. It´s a great place to entertain friends !

La casa del piano is as lovely as the pictures depict. We enjoyed the patio and its pool for outside dining under the lemon tree, the romantic balcony outside the master bedroom and the top balcony with views of the castle and surrounding countryside. The house is on the nicest street in the village, a pedestrian street. The life in the village was a wonderful experience thanks to Christine who at our every request tried to fulfill our needs. Having lived in the village for years she shared her contacts with us, enriching our stay. She was very responsive and supportive. Excellent Liana Welty

This very old, typical home in Andalucia is filled with modern features, making our stay very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped for any cooking you might want to do; the house has more books, music, and movies available than you will have time for! Sheets and towels are luxurious. The neighborhood is delightful; we thoroughly enjoyed staying in a typical "white village." Christine provided excellent directions and resource information ahead of time. We had wonderful weather so made great use of the top terrace and the courtyard when spending time at the house.

We spend 6 days in ''cas del piano'' and it was just great. You found yourself like at home, everything is been thought. We are a couple with 2 kids, 10 and 4, and we all loved it. Kids're playing piano, we're chilling in the lounge or the terrasse...The house is big so it's very pleasant, if the weather is crap (like it was when we're there ), that everybody can have a place to chill, to read, listen music...I really, really loved this house... I arrive with a very bad cold, the weather wasn't nice everyday but i felt very confortable and cosy in ''casa del piano'' ! Chris and Stick think about their client ! They are very nice people.This is very very important, you fell like you're expected in their house. I was very touch by that. The village is very pleasant, there are shops, restaurant...and the castle, amazing view ! You can take the train to go to Ronda. Lots of things to do around, like going to Gibraltar, Tarifa... Definitively we 'll be back ! Thank you so much to Chris and Stick. (sorry for my english writing, my man is english, i'm french, we both live in france and i'm not use to writ any more...! ).

We loved everything about the house, which is absolutely charming and unique, and also the town, which seemed very pleasant and quiet, but with just enough activities going on and leisure options, especially for nature lovers. The house is very spacious and comfortable, with many different areas to relax in (patio, roof terrace, huge living room, gorgeous bathrooms and of course the piano room). We and our 5 and 7 year olds also had a wonderful time going for nature walks just outside of town and exploring the castle in the town, following recommendations left by Christine. I would say the description provided by the owners is accurate, it was very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. All in all, it was a very enjoyable visit...

We were hoping for a peaceful and relaxed holiday in lovely surroundings. La casa del piano has more than exceeded our expectations! You feel at home as soon as you walk onto the house and feel instantly relaxed. The house is lovely and the scenery around Jimena are stunning. Everythng here seems to be done in a caring way and the gentle atmoshere is a joy to experience. Thank you to Stik and Christine for your very friendly hospitality-we will certainly return.

We stayed at the la casa del piano for one week and could not have been more pleased. It is a charming house with all of the comforts of home, but with such amazing historic charm. Christine has thought of everything to make the stay comfortable -- laundry machines, a DVD collection, tea and coffee, etc. We felt right at home. And Jimena is a wonderful base for exploring the Alcornocales Nature Reserve. There are lots of wonderful hikes nearby and the scenery is breathtaking. It is a truly rural Andalusia experience.

Dear Stik and Christine, Our two week family vacation at ¨el Convento¨ was as close to perfect as you can get. The house is lovely---beautifully restored, spacious, immaculate, well furnished. The splash pool, the beautiful courtyard and the open views from the top terrace were an added plus. Although we have visited Spain many times, this was our first time in Andalusia and it was a revelation. The region is truly beautiful with its cork trees covered hills and charming white villages. It also offers some of the best walks I have ever had in Spain. I can't speak highly enough of Stik and Christine. They organized a marvelous dinner for us the day of our arrival and were most helpful in making arrangements and offering suggestions. ¨el convento¨ is truly a gem and I hope to spend time there again.
