  As we are getting ready to leave I thought I would take a to write this review and warn people to read all the reviews as only read the first few if I had seen the one about the road noise I would never have rented this condo. The condo was clean upon arrival and had everything we needed until we opend the drapes and the sliding glass door the road noise was terrible, Like most we like to enjoy our morning coffee on the deck but at this place it's a non starter. Pros: Nice clean condo, beach chairs, boogie boards. Cons: Old stained mugs, dirty beach bag, terrible road noise even with door closed, AC and bathroom fan really noisie, blood on mattress cover, pool clean but lots of tiles missing and a real pain to have to enter and exit with a key. Would I return to Maui yes in a heart beat, would I return or recommend this condo NO.

  Owner response: It is always difficult to respond to reviews like this that are uncharacteristic of the usual guest experience.Without being unkind, this guest was very difficult to please from the word `go,' was unkind to the cleaning lady, suggesting that I `fire' her (!) even though the unit was perfectly clean on arrival etc. Without going into too much detail, the glass was always half empty. What I can say; however, is that I do agree with title of this guest's review which is `You get what you pay for.' In essence, I provide a beautifully decorated, clean condo with new, tropical furnishings and a view of the ocean, all for $79 per night in low season. This is a bargain. The resident manager has told us that our condos are among the nicest in the complex. Of course, you can also get all of that and pay double, triple or more, per night. At $79 per night, you have got to expect that it is not the Ritz. Most of our guests understand that, and are travelling on some sort of a budget, and appreciate the value that we offer. If you want everything perfect-ocean view but no traffic, open up your wallet and head to Wailea. It is unrealistic to expect that you are going to get 5 star everything for $79 per night. Most of our guests have a wonderful time and appreciate all that is beautiful, such as the interior, the grounds, the view and the people. I am sorry that these guests did not enjoy their stay.

  Wonderful condo for my girlfriend and I. The amenities were very nice to have. We used the adjustable back-pack beach chairs and ice chest everyday. Boogie boards and high powered hair-dryer were also nice to have. Good beach to watch the sunset across the street. Easy parking. It's about a mile from all the Kihei action so I'd advice some form of transportation. We caught the bus to Kihei and rented a car for $30/day at the Avis in Kihei with was MUCH cheaper than renting at the Airport. We reserved the car through Orbitz and the directions for Avis were not correct, so check on that before going that route. Comfortable bedding + nice air conditioner = good night sleep. My only con would be that the place needs more towels. 2 beach towels and 2 bath towels is all you get, but we were fairly warned and not a big deal for us. We would rent this condo again for sure.

  The description and photos accurately described the rental unit. It was clean and well maintained. Lisa was very helpful. I hope to stay there again next year, on my return trip to Hawaii. I recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably-priced, clean accommodation that includes a pool, hot tub, beach, and all the little extras (beach chairs, coolers, etc.).

  The condo was clean, had everything that we needed. It was close to everything and the beach across the street was great! The listings and the photos were accurate in depicting the condo. I would recommend this condo in the future. We really enjoyed our stay.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

  It's south Kihei and it's close to everything. Apartment is clean, in a good shape and everything has worked fine. It faces street so there is some noise from it, but I knew it before renting. Closing balcony door and using A/C as a fan can solve it.

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

  Very nice place to stay, I would stay here again! For the price you couldnt ask for too much more. Very nice and updated! My only complaints are the condo stays very worm. I leave my house at like 75 and I am still cold but at the condo I stayed very worm the whole time. And when cooking it takes a long time to get the condo back to an okay temp. The road was pretty loud. You wouldnt be able to sleep with the door opened. Also there were a lot of older people and we even got in trouble for backing our car into a parking spot.

  Recommended for: Age 55+.

In order to keep a cool even climate in any Kihei Bay Surf Condo, it is important to follow the steps as outlined in my condo details package that each guest receives before check-in: please leave the curtains closed during the day when you are out, or if you are watching TV and not enjoying the view, and leave the A/C on at all times. If this is followed, you will be comfortable, perhaps even too cold! On a completely different note, you mentioned that a lady told you not to back your car in to the parking spot. Unfortunately, that lady's husband used to be the building manager, and she is having a hard time giving up her `first lady' status LOL. I expect that she will be dethroned in short order, as the resident manager is aware of her overstepping. Hope to see you again next year. Mahalo, Lisa

  We went in June 2012 with our two children, ages 8 and 9. The foldaway couch/bed was more than enough for the two kids and had a thick mattress on it (for a foldaway). I thought for the price this was a great place to stay. It was comfortable and clean, and larger than it looked on the photos. There was a vaulted ceiling with wood making the area feel spacious. It was plenty of room for us and our two kids. There was a closet with two large boogie boards and nice Tommy Bahama beach chairs, as well as a cooler. The kitchen was fully stocked with plates, bowls, and utensils, even trash bags. All of the instructions given to us within 24 hours after booking and were very easy to read and understandable. There is an e-code for the door that is set to a specific code for your stay so you do not have to worry about mailing keys. I was actually wondering if the e-code was the same for everybody (worried about locals knowing the e-code) but our fears were allayed on that as well. We actually arrived about 1 hour early and the e-code would not work. We checked out Kihei, waited and came back at the appropriate time and the e-code worked perfectly. So you will get a personalized e-code. The only complaint I would have is the A/C was turned off when we arrived during the summer, presumably between guests. Perhaps nobody was occupying the unit in the days before us... The little tiny window unit seemed small, was at the floor level and took, with the ceiling fan, about 18 hours to get the room completely cool. Once it was cool it was fine the rest of our two week stay. If you are going you might request that the A/C and ceiling fan be turned on the day before you arrive. If you are looking for a clean place to stay close to the beaches without breaking the bank, then look no further. This unit was great. Kihei beaches were beautiful and very accessible. I liked Kihei and Wailea the best out of all the areas on Maui because of their beaches. Uncrowded and gorgeous! If we ever go back to Maui, we will definitely try to stay here again.

  Very nice place! Perfect for my 9 month old son, and myself. We liked the location in Kehei, and the quality of accommodations for the price was fantastic. I'd definitely consider staying here again on our next trip to Maui. I liked the idea of a pull out couch/bed in the living room, it would be perfect for a couple and a one child family. We left this morning and it was truly a sad day in paradise! Thank you Lisa!

  I'm late writing this........words can't express what an amazing time we had during our stay on Maui. A major part of what made it amazing was this great condo! Lisa (the owner) has made sure that you have everything you need during your stay -including extras that you'd pay several $$$'s to rent, like the boogy boards and beach chairs. Having a full kitchen made it easy to save on the cost of eating out and we were able to enjoy some of the island's fresh fruit from the stand down the road. The beach is only on the other side of the road so we were able to start our days with walks along it and watch the sunrise. We are hoping the place is free when we make our trip out again next year -we'll definitely be back!

  My husband and I were just island hopping and had only 2 days and 1 night in this fabulous little condo, so we were really happy that we had picked a good one. It was recommended to us by some friends who had stayed in another unit on the same floor and had peeked in one day when the cleaner was in. It was just so nice ... the most beautiful and unusual green granite countertop that I have ever seen! The owners have gone out of their way to make this condo really special, and we certainly could feel the attention to detail in the decor and the finishing that had been put into making our vacation experience memorable. Thanks again for a wonderful stay ... next time, we will come for a couple of weeks!
