We love Five Iron Lodge! So much that our family of 14 plan to go back for a third year. We love it, it is a great location, the house is always clean and comfortable. Big and open enough that our grandchildren have plenty to keep them busy. We love hiking and biking and this is a perfect place! Our guys golfed this year and it is perfect for that and then the girls took the next day to go into Bend for shopping. The Childers Family

Hi Ann – we had a fantastic time! I wish we could’ve stayed longer, but we are hoping to return next year! We found the house to be clean, very comfortable and in good order. The tri-level layout of the house is great for big groups so everyone could have some space. The deck with the pretty views was such a nice place to spend time talking or having a drink or dinner. We loved having the BBQ right on the deck and enjoyed a great BBQ’d meal for my parents anniversary. The kids (and adults) thought the hot tub was great fun and a wonderful way to end the day. Having the bikes was such a treat – we rode all over the resort and enjoyed the fact that it stays so much lighter at night, so had some great rides in the evening! It was nice to have the pool passes - the south pool, and in particular the slide for the big kids and the wading pool for the small one, was lots of fun. For activities we really enjoyed rafting down the river, taking a day trip to Mt. Bachelor and riding the chairlift to the peak and checking out the dog sledding, and exploring all of the beautiful lakes and falls in the area. I would highly recommend Five Iron Lodge to any family or bigger group that is looking for a terrific place to stay in Sun River. Hello Ann, We really enjoyed staying at the Five Iron Lodge, it's a perfect place for a family gathering. It had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay for our large group: several areas for separate group activities, and plenty of things to do with the games/movies/hot tub/play equipment you provide. Our group of 13 had plenty of pleasant and very comfortable accommodations, the lodge was equipped with virtually everything needed for a truly relaxing stay. The lodge was spotlessly clean when we arrived and the lodge decor throughout made it a very special place to be for a family holiday. The lodge feeling, snow falling outside the windows, watching the grandkids playing in the snow, and the Christmas season festivities at Sunriver Lodge made it a very special time for all of us. We look forward to a summertime stay to explore all of the warm weather Sunriver activities. The house was absolutely perfect for our needs. Everyone who stayed there agreed it was an amazing house and just what we needed for the weekend. The house was very clean upon our arrival. The beds (even the sofa sleeper) were AMAZINGLY comfortable and the sheets were nice and soft. This was noted by everyone who stayed; we all slept very well all 4 nights that we were there. Plenty of dishes/silverware/glasses for all was a huge plus as well, I hadn't thought of how necessary this would be until I was cooking 3 meals a day for 15 people! Double coffee pots were a lifesaver. We all agreed that we'd stay at 5 Iron Lodge again, we were very happy.

Ann, We had such a great time at your house! It was a great set-up for our annual trip to Sunriver with 4 families! I had surgery yesterday and am off work and on crutches for 6+ weeks, so it was my last hoorah for a while. Everything was well stocked and the location was perfect. The kids were excited to see a coyote outside the window one morning, and the weather was perfect for skiing, hiking, and a crazy 3 1/2 hour run one of our friends did! We will definitely keep your place in mind for next year's trip! Thanks for everything!

Our 25th wedding anniversary weekend was wonderful. All 6 couples were very comfortable in all 6 sleeping areas. Your house is perfect for a large group. We played foosball and air hockey, enjoyed the hot tub. We had 5 to 6 Deer visit us every night. That was a delight to see them. Friday night we hired a Shuttle from Sun river to take us to The owls nest for drinks and dancing. What a nice service Sun river has to offer. I wanted to take a bike ride on Sunday but we woke up to 5" of snow, That was absolutely beautiful and unexpected. As always the golfing in Bend and Sun river is wonderful. We really enjoyed staying at the 5 iron lodge, It was so comfortable for everyone. I know we will be back someday.... Thank you for having a user friendly web site. So we had a house full of people – 8 adults and 8 kids all under 5. It could have been a disaster, but we had a great time! The house was beautiful and spacious. There was more than enough room for everyone. We all loved the huge dinning table that was well used for some great dinners. The view was fantastic and having the golf course to ski, snowshoe, build snow forts and snowmen on was great. It was a pleasure to walk out the door and be surrounded not only by peace and quiet, but also by acres of what seemed to be our own private snow park. The vacation and house truly exceeded our expectations and we can’t wait to come back with the same group in the summer to see a different side of the lodge and Sunriver.

Ann, What a great house! We had a large group and it was absolutely perfect. We decided to stay at the home for all our meals, and the kitchen was SO NICE to cook in! There was PLENTY of counter space and cupboard space to store food. It was just great. The kids had a good time playing downstairs and we had a nice time relaxing in the loft. We all slept so comfortably in the nice beds and were able to each have our own bathroom! The laundry room was so handy, as the kids played outside and in the hot tub. Overall, it was very relaxing and roomy! We are already talking about renting FIVE IRON again and enjoy being in Sunriver. Thank you for the easy transactions and beautiful house. You were all a treat to work with.

Our stay at your house was awesome. We arrived Sunday and left Thursday and it snowed the entire time! The house was so comfy and accomodating for our group the entire time and we hated to leave. We will return...thank you Ann.

Thanks, Ann. The week was lovely with all the snow which we utilized on the Mountain, on various x-country attempts and then a ladies spoil day at that magnificent SR spa. Your vacation home is wonderful; it handles a crowd with ease and comfort. I’ve never experienced a rental with such a well provisioned and quality supplied kitchen. Your attention to detail with the superior kitchen wares made cooking in your home easy and fun. The beds were all so comfortable (we all loved those windows that opened to let in the fresh night air and the sounds of the hooting owl). It’s a small thing but no one else has ever supplied towels like your house does…it was noticed. In addition, doing business with you has been lovely. You’ve been so responsive and taken such a personal interest in the details of our trip, I understand why your house is a stand above many other rentals. Thank you….we loved our week and hope to have the chance to experience Five Iron Lodge again.

Hi Ann, Sorry it has taken me so long to send the well deserved compliment on your beautiful home! We all had a great time and built many new memories there. Although the snow fell just one day after our departure we managed to get some snowboarding in. We cooked a TON and I have to say...your well stocked kitchen was much appreciated!!! Thank you! We hope to stay at the Five Iron Lodge in the future and so look forward to when that day comes.

We had a wonderful time in the Tro's beautiful home. We made some great meals in the nicely stocked kitchen and it was nice to have two coffee makers. We've been renting houses for 15 years and this is definitely one of the nicest. It was nice to have the great room w/the fireplace for visiting, the room upstairs for the adults to watch t.v. and the downstairs for the kids to watch a movie. All of us enjoyed the foos ball, air hockey, and hot tub as well. The kids had fun playing in the snow behind the house and we were able to get some great skiing in. I would highly recommend staying in this home.

I was going to email you to let you know how much we enjoyed your house but you beat me to the punch. We all had a wonderful time in your home and really appreciated how well supplied the kitchen was. My son-in-law is a gourmet cook so uses a lot of pots, etc. to cook. (My daughter is on clean-up duty when he cooks.) We loved the large dining room table which we used to play lots of games on as well as eating. We all enjoyed playing foos ball and air hockey. That is a great addition to the home. My 3 year old grandson played a lot of air hockey and foos ball with grandma and one day when we were playing, he told me he "loved this hotel"!!! We were impressed with the laundry facilities. There were lots of towels supplied which we appreciated, but we still did a load so hopefully that made it easier for your cleaning staff. We loved the largeness of the kitchen, dining area, and great room. Our family loves to be together (aren't I lucky) so that's where we spent most of our time. We set a card table up by the window and we put together 2 puzzles while we were there. Also, we celebrated 3 birthdays: my son's, one of my granddaughter's, and my son-in-law. The location on the 17th hole was fun. We went for walks to the 18th green and threw rocks into the frozen pond. When you called Wednesday night, we were probably at Sunriver Mall having dinner at the Italian restaurant. The only thing we missed was that there was no TV in the great room. (It was wonderful having TV's in the bedrooms, downstairs, and in the loft.) My family loves sports so they love having football games on while we play games and work on puzzles. On Friday we moved the small TV out from the queen bedroom on the main level to the great room so that helped. Thank you so much for allowing us to use your home over Thanksgiving. There is nothing better then having a family gathering especially when the grandkids are into so many activities at home. Our grandson took the bus to Bend from the University of Oregon in Eugene so it was wonderful to see him as he doesn't get home much. I would love to rent your house again in the future.

Our stay was wonderful! This is a beautiful home with a great layout. It accommodated our large group well. The kitchen was well-stocked with great dishes, plenty of pots and pans, utensils, glassware, and dishes. We enjoyed using the large gas barbecue on the deck. The home is beautifully furnished with a wall of windows that overlooks the golf course. We enjoyed watching the outdoors activities from the large deck and also from the comfortable dining room and living room. There are two family rooms which worked well for us. Our kids loved the big screen T.V! We also liked having five bedrooms and four bathrooms. The location is exceptional. It's quiet on this side of Sun River and we liked the proximity to Benham Falls and the river. We rode bikes every day and enjoyed walking the scenic river loop. The one problem we had was resolved quickly by calling the owner who called a repair man. The only complaint came from the downstairs sleepers who were awakened by the early risers walking around on the hardwood upstairs. I would definately recommend this property to large groups who like lots of comfortable beds, lots of baths, lovely setting, and great location for biking the trails, Benham Falls and walking or hiking. We liked being close to the north grocery store, too!

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Dear Ann, This is Apryl, Jim's wife ! WOW- what a beautiful home. We all loved it from top to bottom. My 80 year young mother, and 83 year young dad- were in absolute awe of your home, and how comfy it was for all 12 of us. It was so peaceful, the grandkids and I stood about 3 feet away from a doe- and watched her munching on leaves in the yard.. The highlight was of course, all four sisters, and our oldest son ran in the 5k- 10k and 1/2 marathon during the weekend. Deb and I came home with a silver and bronze medal in our age category or 54-59..so for a couple of old "farts" we did pretty well-not to mention what we might have accomplished if we had put our hearts into it..instead of lookin' good- and not getting too 'sweaty'... We loved the area- your home was the most beautiful-and fully equipped with everything that we could have imagined. Thank you for opening up your home for others to share...we felt very close to heaven- with family all around in such a beautiful setting. Thank you, Ann..and also for directing our two youngest up..what a surprise that was for me, those stinkers..they spent many a week making up excuses..and letting me think that they were too busy to come up..What a silly family..I am so blessed...Thank you again..

Ann- Sorry to take so long to respond, where did the time go??? Anyway, we LOVED the house and I have even passed on a recommendation to a few friends. We especially appreciated that it was mostly kid friendly (we had a 15 month old in our group who is quite mobile and was obsessed with the stairs of course....). It was great to use the cruisers to go for bike rides and then soak in the hot tub. It was definitely home away from home, very comfortable and well kept. We would like to make this an annual family event, so hopefully we can arrange to do it again next year! Thanks again!

"The house was fantastic! The view was incredible and the atmosphere was relaxing and peaceful. The Tro Home is the best! We had a family reunion there with 16 people and it was perfect! Keeping kids ages 3-21 entertained was never a problem. The beds are all extremely comfortable and the bedrooms are all decorated very nice. The kitchen is very spacious and well stocked with everything you need to make big family meals. Lots of room for everyone to be in there at once working together! We also appreciated the welcome call from Niva. We had fabulous summer weather and spent a lot of time on the wonderful deck overlooking the golf course and BBQ'd every night. Looking forward to going back in the winter so we can enjoy that nice fireplace and head up to the mountain! Thanks so much!

As appealling as the house looks on the web site the pictures don't do it justice. This is the third time we have vacationed in Sunriver and the third home we have rented. This is by far the best we have stayed in and the one we would come back to again and again.

Hi Ann, We had a wonderful time at your home. We all agreed it was the most beautiful home we've stayed in since we started going to Sun River in the mid-80's. We were all comfortable and happy. I especially loved the dining room set. The chairs were so comfortable and the tin accents were beautiful. We had nice cool weather which made for great snow. We hope to stay at your home in the future and the rest of our party feels the same (Franco, Nielsen and Cassidy's). Our 2 boys may start ski racing in Tahoe next winter so our Bachelor trips may be limited.

Thanks, Ann! We had a fantastic time and left quit a lengthy dialogue about our stay in the guest book. Nobody wanted to come home! Your house is beautiful and perfectly setup for large gatherings. So much to do and so little time! We also appreciated the verbal welcome from your husband shortly after our arrival. We've been going to Sunriver over President's Day weekend the past twelve years and never had an owner call and welcome us until this year. Nice touch! It was very cold during our stay but we didn't mind at all. Sunday morning, it was minus 16 degrees heading to the mountain! Brrrrrr! Five Iron Lodge is definately on our list to return to!
