The home is a wonderfully eclectic log home situated on 20 acres overlooking the East Fork of the Bitterroot River and the Bitterroot Mountains. Walk to the river and enjoy world class fly fishing, or grab your rifle and enjoy some of Montana's finest big game hunting. Like to ski? Lost Trail Powder Mountain is located just 12 miles from the property. If white water rafting is what you're after, the Salmon River in Idaho is right over the pass, just a 30 minute drive from Ross Hole Retreat.
Maybe you'd rather just kick back and relax. In that case, grab one of the chairs on the wrap around porch, and enjoy watching the variety of wildlife that frequent the property such as, big horn sheep, elk, deer, and numerous predatory birds.
Ross Hole Retreat is a historic log home which has been updated and modernized by the owners. The home features three bedrooms and two baths plus a loft with additional sleeping space. The main living area and dining room are very spacious and would easily and comfortably accommodate a large friend or family gathering. The cabin is kept very 'cozy' with in-floor radiant heat. There is also a wood stove to compliment the in-floor radiant heat.

Because this place was originally a homestead, its location in that valley gets the most optimal amount of light of any other place around there. The 20 acres gives you the privacy you would expect and the handsome remodel of the old homestead brings perfectly modern accouterments to already cool place. The radiant floor heat and the wood stove make the place a perfect cabin for winter warmth, skiing and fun. We LOVED the place and the owners were awesome as well. Thanks.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
