My family of 4 just spent a week in this unit at Pelican Beach Resort. It was amazing. The pictures are exactly how the unit is. The condo was stocked with everything we would need for the week we stayed here. We did have to buy a pizza pan to cook a pizza on that we bought at the store, but that was only $4. We had two small kids with us under 5 years old, and the condo was perfect for them. They stayed in the front bedroom with two twin beds. I pushed one bed up against the wall and brought our rail with us to keep the little one from rolling off the bed. I would have liked to have seen a curtain in this room over the window as the morning sun beamed through and woke them up super early which in turn woke us up. The bathrooms were stocked with towels, more than we needed/used. The water pressure is horrible, but I don't know if that is specific to this unit or all units in this condo. Possibly new shower heads could help alleviate this issue. Something with a little oomph to it would have been nice when washing off all the sand, sunscreen, and such. The water pressure was quite possibly the only thing I really had problems with during our stay. The only other thing I would have liked to see would be some way to lock the door from the inside of the unit for the night time. There is a dead bolt on the door, but when little hands pull on the handle, it unlocks the dead bolt and so we had to put the dining room chairs in front of the door during the evenings as an extra safety/security measure. Luckily, my two little ones were so worn out by the end of the day, they passed out. But once they realized they could open the door for themselves, it was "game on". All in all we LOVED our stay here. The front desk staff was helpful when needed; we had all we needed with the condo. Wal Mart is just down the road for groceries and such. An elevator ride down to the lobby and out the door we were to the beautiful beach. Pools, Bar-B-Que pits, outdoor bar, the beach.....we were set. We will definately be back to Destin and if this condo is available, we will definately stay here!!!!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, girls getaway, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Thank you Stacy for your nice recommendation of our lovely condo in Destin! We were recently asked by the Management Co. to change the shower heads so as to conserve water! We thought we were doing a good thing! I will have it changed back to the stronger shower heads. Also, we have never had a problem with the wooden blinds in the guest bedroom as the sun does not come up on that side of the building! Do you suppose the children were excited to be at the beach and to get down to the ocean? Thank you so much for your suggestions and I hope you will come visit with us again! We just returned from Thanksgiving Break in this unit at Pelican Beach Resort. I cannot say enough good things about it. The owners recently remodeled the kitchen and it is so beautiful. The cabinets and countertops really give it an elegant look. I had everything I needed in the kitchen to make a Thanksgiving meal and the grocery store is right across the street. Love this unit because it is so comfortable. The couches in the living room are very plush and my husband loved the large flat screen in the living room. The owner is also so pleasant to work with. I highly recommend this unit. Its one of the best we've stayed at in this resort community.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your condo over Thanksgiving. It was a wonderful week! The weather was practically perfect for November. The shopping was great and thanks to your incredible kitchen, Thanksgiving dinner was delicious. Most of all, the week away gave my husband such peace of mind and a return to sanity amidst all the chaos in life right now. That was priceless. The bed was comfy, the couches were cozy, and the flat screen TV was my husband's favorite amenity! You personally have been so pleasant to work with. Thank you for making the process so easy. We will definitely rent from you again and would recommend you highly to others - as long as they aren't trying to get the same week as us!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We go to Destin every year with friends and this condo was our favorite. The view looking down the beach is wonderful compared to straight out in the ocean. There is so much more scenery to enjoy. All the furnishings were updated and very clean as well and wonderfully decorated. The kitchen is well supplied. We didn't feel in need of anything. We will definately stay here again.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Dear Owners, How can I express my thankfulness to you for the joy you have given my family. The look on their faces at seeing the ocean for the first time, feeling the sand, the view from the balcony and the joy of swimming in the ocean. This vacation could not have come at a better time. Even though we all live together at home, this gave my oldest daughter time for just herself and her girls separated on their own at night. After moving back home and starting over again, you can't imagine what a positive effect this has had on her. I think we get so caught up in the "day to day", trying to make ends meet, that we don't take time for ourselves. Wow! What a difference to leave everything at home and just enjoy life and family! Watching the cleanup from Hurricane Ivan reminds me of disaster times in our own lives and also reminds me how fast what you have can be gone in the blink of an eye. It is not the material things that count for the short time we are on this earth, but the relationships with family, friends and even an act of kindness to a stranger that counts. Your condo makes me feel welcomed, kind of like this is your home, making visitors who stop in feel both loved and cared for. The guest book and the little notes just add to your hospitality. Thank you for allowing us a piece of your dream. You cannot imagine what an emotional uplift this has been for us. Thank you for helping us shore up our family. I feel blessed to know you. About: Tom and I fell in love with Destin in 1985. We spent our honeymoon in Destin. We knew we would return one day to buy a place here. There are no prettier beaches anywhere else in the United States or abroad that has the sugar sand beaches and the emerald colored water like Destin. It is truely mesmerizing! We hope you find it to be just as relaxing and beautiful. We love to bring our sons, Emory and Madison. Some of our best times as a family have been here. We love to have shrimp boils and sit on the balcony and enjoy the gulf sunsets. We love to watch the dolphins early in the morning as they swim by. We love to go fishing. We love to read books. We love to walk the beach. Mostly, I love to just sit in my beach chair and look at the water... We hope you create your own memories too.
