This house exceeded our expectations. Tastefully appointed, quiet , secluded, yet close to Asheville, and the parkway. Vey, very comfortable beds and other furnishings. We had the loveliest time. The wild turkeys were our alarm clock. Watched them every morning from the porch. No sightings of bears, though I got quite the start from a black lab who visited a couple times. We love the Asheville area and hope to return again and again, hopefully back to this house. Much thanks to our hosts. You have created a truly beautiful and comfortable space.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Susan Thank you for taking the time to write the review and the kind words. The house's country setting, amenities and proximity to Asheville truly make it and ideal getaway. It is rewarding to have someone appreciate the effort that went into making the house a "beautiful home" We are glad the "Girls" (Turkeys) showed up to say hello! We sincerely hope you will visit us again Marilyn Weinstein

We enjoyed our stay so much in this spacious yet cozy mountain home. The bedrooms were extremely comfortable, and the great room had plenty of room for all 8 of us to spread out and enjoy the fireplace and mountain views. We cooked in one night and the kitchen had everything we needed. We also went out to eat in nearby Asheville and Weaverville, and enjoyed some hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway (5 minutes away!). Wild turkeys greeted us on the driveway upon our arrival, adding to the feel of getting away in nature. Great memories!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you Lee for your wonderful comments. Your stay encompassed everything we love about our home, the hiking, eating out in Asheville, Weaverville and even cooking in. I too love being greeted by the wild turkeys! Marcia

This house is exceptional. It is lovely and extremely comfortable. My husband and I remarked," we have never slept away from home on a bed as comfortable as ours". We were in town for the wedding of my daughter on my son's organic farm. I catered the wedding for 35 using the lovely kitchen as well as my son's. We had a small family dinner in the lovely dining room Friday night and the ambiance was wonderful. The home is outfitted with lovely, upbeat dishes and even though I brought my own, I used some for the contrast. The garage was a great place to store and organize my dishes and supplies. My family was so comfortable with the location, we hope to visit it annually. I can truly say while I knew the home was lovely from the pictures, it way exceeded my expectations and the owners were a dream to work with.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much for the wonderful comments. We try to make the whole experience easy and seamless. We are glad you found the house as warm and inviting as we do. It is rewarding when someone recognizes the hard work and creativity that makes a house a home. We look forward to you coming back and visiting again.

Can't even begin to tell you how wonderful this home is. We had a group of 8 women celbrating very long friendships and a big birthday year for all of us! The home was so comfortable and well equipped, beautiful details throughout! We could not have asked for more. Spent much time on the beautiful deck, making new memories we will treasure forever. Close enough to all of the activities we were looking for.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had spent plenty of time in North Carolina but had been looking forward to checking out the Asheville area. This beautiful mountain home was more than we had hoped for with its first class amenities, gracious hosts, and a quick drive into both the small town charm of Weaverville and the big city action of Asheville. When we weren't hiking or exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway we were just walking around, finding great restaurants, shops, and music. Perhaps the best part of everyday was ending up on the deck enjoying the mountain view. Looking forward to our return. Thanks!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Karl for your review.....best of all worlds! We agree being close to the Blue Ridge Parkway with exceptional hiking and minutes away from Asheville is ideal. We enjoyed having you as our guest! Marcia

The stay in your cabin made our visit to the Asheville area perfect. Not only is the cabin beautifully decorated but it is clean and spacious! We appreciate your attention to detail . The information notebook came in handy when picking out restaurants. You're right, the well bred bakery is not to be missed! Also, it was a pleasure working with the owners! They were prompt and friendly during the entire rental process.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed here for Thanksgiving 2011. We had an amazing time. A big plus is the house has several bedrooms that are separate, so a family with kids can have nice adult time while the kids have kid time. The kitchen is decked out with really great dishes and serving plates. Made our Thanksgiving meal special. There is a yard for the kids to play, and great place to walk. The cabin is 2 miles from a lovely hike. One of the main perks is that it close to a cute downtown Weaverville and not far from Asheville. So you feel away from it all but are not so remotely located. The last thing that is different from other places is that you don't need to drive down a bunch of windy roads to get here, making the trip here and to town more pleasant. We highly recommend this modern and cozy place for you and your family!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you Kathryn....it was a pleasure having you! We look forward to you visiting our home again. Marcia

The location of this beautiful home is just perfect! Just off the Blue Rigde Parkway, the ride to Asheville or the Cherokee reservation, is a scenic delight which just melted my stress away and brought me closer to nature's best. The home it's self is gorgeus with a warm "at home" feeling. My stay here last year was just what the doctor order and I've got a prescription for another stay very soon. If you are planning to stay here for a weekend or a week, you just can't go wrong!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you Eddy and come visit us again! Marcia
