Nantucket Town house description
Recently and lovingly restored spacious 4 bedroom family home that sympathetically combines the vintage beauty of an original Victorian Blacksmith's house, with all of today's modern requirements for a perfect family vacation.
The house boasts ample room for family life, a library to relax, with plenty of reading material (also has a Vermont Casting gas stove for off season chillier days).
A large family room equipped with Bluray, 3D, dvd and plasma television and over-sized sectional for comfortable movie watching.
The dining room, with farmhouse dining table and ample seating is set up for catering for any occasion. There is also a gas Vermont Casting stove in the dining area to take the chill off any cooler day.
The kitchen combines the beauty of traditional vintage cabinetry with modern day appliances (Fisher & Paykel dish drawers), marble counters, built-in stainless-steel French door style fridge/freezer, and dual fuel range. It is also equipped with all the necessary appliances one could need to enjoy all the home comforts.
Upstairs, the master bedroom has a king bed and brand new en- suite bathroom.
The second bedroom has full bed and built in closet. The family bathroom has original claw foot tub and stand alone shower.
Further two separate bedrooms are decorated with a vintage, nautical, theme and have 1 twin bed in each.
The twin and queen beds lead out onto a large landing area that is accessed by a second set of stairs from the dining area.
The landing area has been made into a children's entertainment suite with a second plasma, xbox with games, traditional games and also a daybed. The daybed can be used for one additional sleeping guest.
Given that it is a Victorian house both the stairs at the front of the property and the rear are steep and therefore not suitable for very small children.
There is a half bath downstairs and also an outside shower - as is traditional in Nantucket.

The nearest beach is Francis St. where you can kayak - also only a 5-10 minute walk, along with the famed duck pond. We are very close to the bike paths that can take you to both ends of the island, Sconset to the East and Madaket to the West (- also perfect for running approx 7/6m respectively.)...moreless

Perfect in every way!
Perfect in every way!
I spent 2 weeks in August with my family in this lovely home. Close to town, Stop & Shop and bike paths. The home has everything you will need including 5 bikes, 2 kayacks and a paddle board! The home has been loving renovated with quality appliances, furnishings and ammenities. The comfortable backyard was so inviting. Beautifully landscaped, gas fire pit, and several seating areas. I would definately rent it again!!

We have rented a number of houses in Nantucket and Tuckety is A+ for amenities and cleanliness: European appliances, lovely gardened patios with a master grill plus fire pit, practically new bikes available for the guests, quick walk to town and close to bike paths, wonderful master bedroom suite, the latest in TVs, good reading materials for adults and children and other amenities too numerous to list. Alison responds immediately to inquires and has provided a lovely tranquil home for vacationers. We were a party of 7, so it was a bit tight upstairs but Alison explained that to us in advance. I definitely recommend Tuckety for families with children-a hidden jewel.

Tuckety is a great. The house is adorable - tucked away on a small street. The rooms were quite comfortable and the location was ideal - walk to town, bike anywhere else. There is plenty of space for lounging around downstairs and a nice outdoor area. On top of that Alison is a great renter. Excellent response time, she even called the caretaker for us when we had a minor inconvenience with the house. My understanding is that there may be bikes on premises in the future which would pretty much seal the deal as this being the ideal spot. My wife and I rented the place for a long weekend along with another couple and our single friend. We're probably not the exact target audience for this set-up but it worked great for us. The outdoor space is wonderful, the master bedroom is super comfortable and the Cisco suite looked nice. The other rooms are probably better suited for children, but Alison told us that up front so we were quite pleased by how nice they were. I would certainly recommend this to anyone looking to strike a balance between a well-appointed and reasonably priced place on Nantucket. It would be great for families as there is a playroom upstairs and a big sitting area downstairs. Enjoy your stay.

great time by all
great time by all
We have been to this island numerous times and found this home to be the cleanest, best equipped, and beautifully decorated rental yet. We left our car behind and found the location perfect - close to town, grocery store, Downy Flake, and beaches. Very private yard with outdoor fire pit. Definitely coming back again.

Owner response: Thank you so much for your fabulous review. We look forward to welcoming you at "Tuckety" again next year. Thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the fire-pit .
This house is wonderful! The owners put a lot of thought into renovating it. Our family with four young kids had a wonderful two week stay here. There are lots of thoughtful touches - coffee capsules and comfortable beds, kid's toys and great beach books. There is a separate room upstairs with Tv and games which they enjoyed after a day at the beach! The owners were extremely responsive and pleasant to interact with. It is an easy bike ride into town and beaches. We enjoyed the patio and fire pit - great for s'mores. If you are looking for a luxurious stay in an updated Nantucket antique, you will be happy here!

About the owner: We are a family of 5 who enjoy Nantucket more than anywhere in the world! 'Tuckety' is our home away from home, we hope that you enjoy it as much as we do.
Why the Owner Chose Nantucket Town:
We first visited Nantucket in 2010 after becoming exhausted by long haul travel and endless delays at airports. We are originally from the UK and have traveled to many places. Upon arriving on island I immediately fell in love and fortunately as time ensued so did my husband. We spent 11 months searching for the right property and feel that our quest really paid off. We love our house and have really made it our home away from home.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The location of the property is perfect. We really are only an 8 minute stroll to town (even with 3 children) - no hills. The duck pond is only one street away, where the children like to frequent. The town beach, flats and harbor are also a very short stroll where you can wander, take a picnic or rent kayaks/paddleboards.
