8 Min Walk to Town, Perfect Vacation Home Away from Home
- Minimum stay:Contact owner
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Recently and lovingly restored spacious 4 bedroom family home that sympathetically combines the vintage beauty of an original Victorian Blacksmith's house, with all of today's modern requirements for a perfect family vacation.
The house boasts ample room for family life, a library to relax, with plenty of reading material (also has a Vermont Casting gas stove for off season chillier days).
A large family room equipped with Bluray, 3D, dvd and plasma television and over-sized sectional for comfortable movie watching.
The dining room, with farmhouse dining table and ample seating is set up for catering for any occasion. There is also a gas Vermont Casting stove in the dining area to take the chill off any cooler day.
The kitchen combines the beauty of traditional vintage cabinetry with modern day appliances (Fisher & Paykel dish drawers), marble counters, built-in stainless-steel French door style fridge/freezer, and dual fuel range. It is also equipped with all the necessary appliances one could need to enjoy all the home comforts.
Upstairs, the master bedroom has a king bed and brand new en- suite bathroom.
The second bedroom has full bed and built in closet. The family bathroom has original claw foot tub and stand alone shower.
Further two separate bedrooms are decorated with a vintage, nautical, theme and have 1 twin bed in each.
The twin and queen beds lead out onto a large landing area that is accessed by a second set of stairs from the dining area.
The landing area has been made into a children's entertainment suite with a second plasma, xbox with games, traditional games and also a daybed. The daybed can be used for one additional sleeping guest.
Given that it is a Victorian house both the stairs at the front of the property and the rear are steep and therefore not suitable for very small children.
There is a half bath downstairs and also an outside shower - as is traditional in Nantucket.

We have been to this island numerous times and found this home to be the cleanest, best equipped, and beautifully decorated rental yet. We left our car behind and found the location perfect - close to town, grocery store, Downy Flake, and beaches. Very private yard with outdoor fire pit. Definitely coming back again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your fabulous review. We look forward to welcoming you at "Tuckety" again next year. Thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the fire-pit .

This house is wonderful! The owners put a lot of thought into renovating it. Our family with four young kids had a wonderful two week stay here. There are lots of thoughtful touches - coffee capsules and comfortable beds, kid's toys and great beach books. There is a separate room upstairs with Tv and games which they enjoyed after a day at the beach! The owners were extremely responsive and pleasant to interact with. It is an easy bike ride into town and beaches. We enjoyed the patio and fire pit - great for s'mores. If you are looking for a luxurious stay in an updated Nantucket antique, you will be happy here!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

About the owner: We are a family of 5 who enjoy Nantucket more than anywhere in the world! 'Tuckety' is our home away from home, we hope that you enjoy it as much as we do.
Why the Owner Chose Nantucket Town:
We first visited Nantucket in 2010 after becoming exhausted by long haul travel and endless delays at airports. We are originally from the UK and have traveled to many places. Upon arriving on island I immediately fell in love and fortunately as time ensued so did my husband. We spent 11 months searching for the right property and feel that our quest really paid off. We love our house and have really made it our home away from home.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The location of the property is perfect. We really are only an 8 minute stroll to town (even with 3 children) - no hills. The duck pond is only one street away, where the children like to frequent. The town beach, flats and harbor are also a very short stroll where you can wander, take a picnic or rent kayaks/paddleboards.
