My best friend and I have traveled from opposite sides of the state for the past 20+ years to meet here on the river. We hike the beautiful trails, enjoy river side nature, and craft for an entire week. The rental has everything we could want: quiet, wonderful people, space, a well-appointed kitchen and natural beauty. I love my space in the loft where I can see the river from my bed and especially enjoy eating on the patio above the river. We watch the rafters go by and enjoy the wonderful mountain ambiance..Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We have had the opportunity to stay at the Caddisfly on the banks of Oregon's famous McKenzie River for 20+ years. We keep going back year after year (sometimes more than once)and have always been warmly welcomed by owners Dick and Doris Lauer...in fact, we've come to feel like family. The setting is idyllic with three rustic cabins within yards of the free flowing McKenzie which is one of the most historic trout streams in the Pacific Northwest. The grounds are nicely landscaped and the river side setting puts you instantly into "relaxation mode." The two largest cabins have accommodations for large families or groups and the third is warm and cozy and just right for singles or couples. The cabins aren't fancy but offer all the necessary amenities you'll need to kick back and relax. The "Fly," as it is affectionately known by those who have stayed there often, is close to fishing, rafting, hiking, downhill and cross country skiing, and is located on the main highway connecting the Eugene/Springfield area to central Oregon. You can't go wrong if you appreciate a quite and relaxing destination in a tranquil setting...we strongly recommend the Caddisfly Resort!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, people with disabilities, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.
