Great place to stay in Whitefish and minutes to Big Mountain

Our family of 4 really enjoyed our stay. House had all the necessities, plus some nice extras in the kitchen (sugar, olive oil, flour, etc). The deck was quiet and we ate most meals outdoors. We loved the convenience of the bike path into town, which was basically 4 pedal strokes away. Highly recommend this home for families; our kids loved playing in the huge front yard area.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

This property was all it was advertised to be. We do agree that if you are looking for the "hot-tub, lodge" experience, this is not it, but rather a cozy home away from home. We enjoyed the extremely quiet location, yet close to all activities. We did not get a chance to use many of the amenities, as we were in town for a baseball tournament that took up most of our time, but the path literally out the front door was very inviting, and the proximity to Whitefish Mountain Resort is a plus, especially in the winter. The kitchen was the best-stocked I've ever encountered at a vacation rental! All supplies you would need were easy to find and plentiful. We love the Whitefish area, and will definitely be back to this rental!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

Fantastic Home Away from Home in Whitefish!

This lovely home is right outside the Whitefish town line - just a 5 minute car ride or a 15 minute bike ride along the paved path right into Whitefish itself. I love the perfect placement of the property, right at the foot of Big Mountain and across the street from Whitefish Lake. It's close enough to town that you can drop in on a whim, but away enough that you don't have to listen to the traffic and noise of the town itself. The pretty wooded yard had deer visiting every morning and the back yard has a huge porch and a fire pit for evening sitting. There's also a nice two-car garage to hide your cars away from the rain (or snow!) I found that the attractive (and large) kitchen was fully stocked with all dishware and utensils that I needed during my stay and the living room had plenty of comfortable furniture to relax on in front of a great fireplace. I felt at home there immediately, and invited two guests to stay with me as well. There were great bedrooms with comfortable beds for each of us and our stay was more than enjoyable; it was most memorable. I will definitely seek this place out for my next trip to Whitefish!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We were a little hesitant after the last review, but we booked this place anyway. We were glad we did! This place is in a quiet location, close enough to Whitefish (5 min drive) and has a great walking/biking path right out the front door! My family of 5 stayed here for a full week. The large kitchen is equipt with anything you need and the house is nicley decorated. As my husband said "no trinkets and knick-knacks that clutter other places" . If you are looking for a high end lodge, this is not it, but if you want an affordable base camp for enjoying Whitefish and Glacier Park this is the place! We hope to come back this winter and ski at the resort! Thank you Keith and Lindsey for a wonderful place.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We stayed at the property from February 16-20, 2012 with 2 couples and 2 kids for a skiing weekend. The property is located at the base of the road leading up to the ski hill and is about 5-10 minutes into town. It's a small bungalow with no basement, so a bit tight for the 6 of us but suited our needs fine for a few days. Definitely no frills with this rental- beds are average, no hot tub or jetted tub, missing a few key cooking utensils, old TV and no stereo. We had friends staying in a place closer to town for a similar price per night that was basically a mansion on the lake with a huge floor plan, hot tub, entertainment system, massive yard, fire pit, etc. so we were a bit jealous and felt we weren't getting our money's worth. In addition, we cleaned the property before we departed and still got hit with an additional cleaning charge on top of the cleaning fee charged with the rental. That left a bad taste in our mouths, so I wouldn't stay here again based on our experience, and especially after seeing how much more you can get for your money in the area. My advice- get more bang for your buck and stay somewhere else.Owner response: Standard with most rental homes a list of check out instructions is provided for our guests. Unfortunately, failure to follow these instructions will result in additional charges, as clearly stated in our rental agreement. Our home is not advertised as a mansion, nor does it have a hot tub, jacuzzi, or fire-pit. There are plenty of homes in the surrounding area that fit that bill, and we will be the first to recommend you look elsewhere if that is what you are looking for. Our home does however, have a brand new television, is warm, comfortable, and affordable. We continually strive to provide a positive experience for our guests, and encourage them to contact us immediately should they find anything to be unsatisfactory. We personally live just around the corner from our rental home and are available 24 hours a day for our guests should they need us.

My husband and I stayed here with some other friends. This place was perfect. Located at the bottom of Whitefish Mt Resort rd. Took us 5 minutes to get to the resort and 3 minutes to get to town! Or leave the car and take the walking path out the front door. This home is comfortable, warm and has everything you need, nothing you don't. Simple, tasteful and affordable. We will stay here again! Cant wait to see it in summer.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
