We have stayed on Big Pine for the past four years and this year was the best! The house is lovely and spacious, off the beaten path. It's very nice to have a place that is one level, no stairs to haul luggage and groceries up and down. The kitchen is wonderfully stocked with plenty of pots and pans, etc... We hope to return year after year!Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities.

We loved the house, the pool and the grounds. We have vacationed in the FL Keys many years but this was the best place we have ever stayed and hope to do it again next year. The house, the pool and the grounds were spacious, clean and well-maintained. The house was well set up for visitors as any info we needed to know (such as garbage pickup days, etc.) was right there and we didn't have to call someone to ask or find out. The wildlife is abundant. We fell in love with the key deer. They came in the mornings/evenings everyday. The fishing was good whether from the Old Wooden Bridge, out from the house or offshore on our boat. The close proximity to Key West meant we also did quite a bit of shopping. I highly recommend this place for any age group as there is something for everyone to do whether fishing, shopping in Key West or just relaxing in the pool.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children, people with disabilities.

The house was immaculate, spacious, and quiet. Perfect place for a long vacation. I can't say enough about the pool. It was huge, clean, and the best part of our day.The key deer came to visit nearly every day at sunset. My grandson and I fished off the bridge by the marina just up the street and caught dinner. We enjoyed Bahia Honda State Park with its sugar sand beaches and saw first hand "Flagler's Folly" (the railroad built from miami to key west often seen on the history channel). We walked to "No Name Pub" for pizza and beer. Another great place for dinner and entertainmaent is "the Boondocks". We drove 30 minutes to Key West for shopping and night life. While in Key West our best dining experience was "Blue Heaven" then dessert at "Better Than Sex", it was a night to remember. Shirley and Sunday were great people to work with and we enjoyed our stay in paradise.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children, people with disabilities.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It all went by way too fast. The owners are wonderful people and very easy to deal with. No problems getting keys or any needed info. The house is very clean and HUGE ! The master bedroom is like a small house in itself! This is a very private piece of property so if you like being away from the maddening crowds then this is the place for you. The No Name pub is just a short walk up the street. Although, a car would be well advised here. Key deer wander through the area so expect a visit from them. ( God, are they cute ! ) Small word of warning, noseeums can be a bit of a pain throughout the Florida keys so if you are the type to get bothered by them I'd suggest taking a light pair of pants and a long sleeve T-shirt to wear during sunrise and sunset. And Ohhhhh.....the sunrises and sunsets.... they are stunning!! The pace of life is perfect and the people warm and friendly. We made lasting friendships here and can't wait to get back for another visit. Thanks for all your help Shirley.( we consider you one of those lasting friends ) Pete and DiRecommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing.
