Green Landing is a spacious and classic 1880's waterfront shingle-style Maine summer home set on the shore with an amazing view where the tidal Damariscotta River meets the sea. Just outside of Boothbay Harbor, Green Landing has been lovingly maintained and in the same family for nearly 50 years and over 4 generations. The entire property encompasses 5 acres and three homes.
Green Landing offers the best of the comforts of summers past: a wide covered porch overlooking the water, a private beach, cozy places to sit by the fireplace, and plenty of room for friends and family. At the same time, we offer the convenience of summers present: a well-equipped kitchen, outdoor gas grill and lobster cooker, free wi-fi, and cable TV with DVD and VCR.
The 4 bedrooms offer comfortable king (2), double (2) and twin-sized beds (2), and the 3.5 bathrooms means there is rarely a wait. When the weather is fine you can open the sliding doors out onto the deck and soak in the sun, and when the fog and rain arrive you can settle in by a crackling fire and enjoy one of the many jigsaw puzzles, movies, or books available.
Green Landing is a destination all it's own, with many of our guests returning year after year. Uniquely situated in the village of East Boothbay we are secluded yet within easy walking distance to the East Boothbay General Store (watch for their yummy specials!), Lobsterman's Wharf Restaurant, and the East Boothbay Post Office.
Guests can see traditional Maine maritime activities in action at the local ship and yacht builders right around the corner: Washburn and Doughty - builders of steel hulled tug boats and fireboats - and Hodgdon Yachts - builders of fine yachts for 5 generations.
We invite you to join us as our guests and enjoy the spacious dock. You can watch the lobster boats as the lobstermen haul their traps, or witness the incredible sight of sunrise over the river. Use the spyglass to check out great blue heron and harbor seals as they feed.
At Green Landing you'll find the authentic Maine experience.

About the owner: Welcome, friends! Green Landing is the place to enjoy time with loved ones. The Boothbay Region a perfect place for hiking and kayaking, and meeting new friends. You may see me and my dogs (Clara and Piper) at sunrise as we walk to the shore to greet the day. They especially enjoy hunting for crab shells along the shore, and watching the water from the float. My professional background is as a Certified Nurse-Midwife and I practiced in the Boothbay Region until 2003. Currently, I am a Consultant to the Public Health Nursing Program at the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention. I am happy to live this wonderful coastal community, and I find village life both peaceful and engaging.
Why the Owner Chose East Boothbay:
My family has summered in East Boothbay since the 1880's. Growing up here summers, I helped with Green Landing as a youngster. As an adult, longed to come live here full-time. In 1986, I made the move, and have lived here ever since.
In the early 1990's I took over the stewardship of Green Landing, bringing my artistic eye and expansive sense of comfort to this wonderful 'cottage'.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
What are the best things about Green Landing?
I'd have to say they include the perfect blend of privacy and accessibility. It is delightful to wander up to the East Boothbay General Store or to Lobstermans' Wharf for a bite to eat, or to the shore for a splash on a hot summer's day. Moonlight kayaking on the river is amazing, and watching the sunrise from bed (and then pulling the covers over one's head!) never fails to delight.
But the very best thing about Green Landing is inviting friends and family for lobster feasts, to eat, laugh, and soak up the incredible atmosphere while dipping savory chunks of lobster in butter or munching on corn on the cob. This is summer in Maine at it's finest!
