We had an awesome time! The owner was super nice and accessible. The house had a great layout and had an awesome backyard for sledding! We loved the decor and everything was very clean...no mildew smell on sheets! We will be back!Recommended for: Families with young children.

My friends and I had a great time. The owner was very sweet to us (about 16 people), and accomodating regarding check-in/out. There were fresh towels, toiletries, and the place was very clean when we arrived. The place itself is as described, perfectly. Very spacious. Lots to do: huge tv, pool table, lake nearby, hot tub, dry sauna, foosball table, huge open kitchen and dining area. And LOTS of room to house lots of people. If you have a large group, you won't be disappointed. Rooms up and downstairs. Not much else to say, but we loved it and will be returning for sure one of these days! Can't give a better recommendation than that!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

"Perfect Getaway" We had a great time. Your cabin met our needs perfectly and mother nature provided the rest (snow)! It was our first Big Bear experience and we hope to make it a tradition. Thanks! "Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Wow!!! I am so grateful to have had this cabin available during the busiest time of the year. This was the perfect cabin for my family at Christmas time, as it was easy to find. We are a small family, but this cabin could have easily held more of us. It’s perfect for couples, and perfect for bigger families......perfect all around. I can’t stop raving about how special our Christmas was and how unique and different our holiday was this year. We have set a new tradition, and we will be back for Christmas next year. My parents are older and I was worried about their comfort, but they were very comfortable. It was felt very spacious and bright. Whether it was reading a book, or watching the game or hanging out in the kitchen, we all came and went and made ourselves at home....it was so nice. There was even a Christmas tree. We felt right at home during the holiday, and we didn’t miss a thing. Thank you for giving us such a great vacation.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This was an amazing Big Bear home and we had a great time. I highly recommend this home if you want to stay in Big Bear. One of the best things about this home is the ability to sled in the snow in the back yard. There is nothing better than sledding and then walking inside and jumping into a warm bath to warm up.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Hi Rachele, It was great to have you and your family/friends stay at our home. Now that you have had the pleausure of experiencing Big Bear in the Winter, you have to come back in the Summer. The lake is great fun and there are an equal amount of activities to enjoy during the Summer. Also, thank you for the kind review about our home. We work very hard to try to make sure our guest have everything they need and are as confortable as possible. Sincerely, Michele and Don

I am so glad that we chose this property for our christmas vacation rental. The house was a perfect fit for our large family gathering. Everything from top to bottom was clean and in great condition. You could tell walking into the house that it has been well taken care of. It had pretty much everything you would need to cook a good meal and have a good time with the family. The kids had the greatest time sledding down the bunny slope in the back yard and making baby snowmen. Michele (owner) was so sweet and helpful. I would definitely recommend this to my friends. We had a blast here and can't wait to go back next year and do it again.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children.

Wow--what a great time we had staying in your house. We have been coming to Big Bear for over 25 years but your home was by far the nicest place we've ever stayed. Michele was very helpful with suggestions for local activities that were age appropriate for everyone in our party. Our group ranged in ages from 1 to 83 and there was plenty to keep everyone happy. Grandma and Grandpa loved that they didn't have to climb stairs and the kids loved the bunk bedroom. We all loved the comfortable beds and the 2 cozy fireplaces. The kitchen was great and very well stocked with every possible appliance and gadget. The location was excellent and it was so nice to have ample parking for all our cars. Thank you again for a wonderful place to stay and I can't think of any other place I'd rather stay. We will be back in 2013!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

We felt so at home in this beautiful cabin. The kitchen was amazing because they had everything you need and more. We had a blast playing the games that were provided as well. The Jacuzzi was great after a long day at the lake and the patio with BBQ grill was put to good use. This was by far the best Big Bear trip we’ve had and we didn’t want to leave thanks to this cabin! We are DEFINITELY renting this place again and can’t wait to go back. Thank you for everything!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children.
Owner response: Hi Richard, We're so glad that your family had a great trip and we are looking forward to your return. It was so nice to hear that you were able to enjoy our beautiful lake--wasn't it nice to not to make a 5 hour drive to get home? We do have you on the calendar for your return trip in December and I'm sure you will love Big Bear with snow too! Thank you again for choosing Camp Run A Muk Big Bear Lake! Sincerely, Michele and Don

My friends and I have rented several houses in the Big Bear area before, and this is the first one we all agree that we'd love to return to. This house has everything for a great getaway. Our group consisted of 6 adults and 7 kids, and there was something to entertain everyone; the foosball was perfect for the kids and the pool table entertained the adults. The hot tub looks out over beautiful treed yard and the house is a 2 minute drive to Snow Summit. The kids had fun sledding in the snow on the bunny hill in the backyard. The kitchen is well-equipped (I made pancakes on the griddle), and luxury towels and bathroom amenities are nice finishing touches. This was the first time I experienced a European dry sauna and what a relaxing experience it was—nice touch to have in a private home!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.
Owner response: Wow--Amber, thank you for the complements about our vacation home. We do our best to make sure all our guests at Camp Run A Muk have an enjoyable and relaxing time. Please feel free to calls us when you're ready to return. Sincerely, Michele

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2003
About the owner: In 1990, my husband and I got engaged in the California mountains and we have been escaping to the high country ever since. We are an active family and enjoy using our mountain retreat for all the activities that exist in the Big Bear Valley. We never run out of places to explore and adventures share, which made Big Bear Lake the perfect location for us to buy a vacation home of our own. One day, we’d like to retire up here – until then, we’re content to try to keep up with our kids! There are endless options of things to do and see here, all under the glorious California sunshine. We hope that you’ll enjoy all that Camp Run A Muk Big Bear Lake has to offer!
Why the Owner Chose Eagle Point:
Our family loves nature and playing outdoors! That's one of the main reasons we chose to buy our vacation home in the city of Big Bear Lake. Due to our work schedules we needed to have a place that our family could escape to within a couple of hours. Big Bear is just a short (and easy) 2 hour drive from our home in Orange County, and only slightly longer for our extended family and friends in Los Angeles and San Diego Counties. Access up the mountain is easy with 3 highways leading up the mountain and right in to the city of Big Bear Lake. Drive time is an important factor when you want to ski and travel on the same day.
Big Bear truly is a 4 season resort area with so much to do year round. We love being centrally located to so many fun activities in every season -- awesome mountain & trail biking throughout Big Bear Valley, hiking & wildlife viewing, fishing & boating on Big Bear Lake and of course great snow boarding & skiing at Snow Summit and Bear Mountain.
The Unique Benefits at this Estate:
Camp Run A Muk Big Bear Lake has been a wonderful vacation home in so many ways. After a fire (2009) we rebuilt our home with the idea of hosting large groups of friends and families. At that time everything was replaced and upgraded. Our great mountain home, can easily house up to 18 people. The home is unique in that the Dining room can seat 8 at the dining table and an additional 12 at the breakfast bar. The open layout of the house allows for large groups to relax together while still having their own space.
The little kids can sled in the fenced backyard on our own small private bunny hill. Experience the private patio, grill and hot tub while enjoying the starry night sky. Relax in the Family room with the giant fireplace and your favorite book. Prepare a hearty meal for friends and family in a dream gourmet kitchen. End the evening with a game pool in the Gameroom or cuddle up and watch a movie.
Our home is located in the prestigious community of Eagle Point, a quiet residential community. The streets are flat and maintained by the city so during periods of heavy snow our property is still accessible. There are no steep driveways and when more than an inch of snow falls, our plow service will clear the driveway for you. In the Winter, there is no parking on the city streets but we have a very large, flat circular driveway that fits 8 cars.
The lake is only a couple streets away and in the Summer our renters have access to a boat slip at a small additional fee. Big Bear Lake is a public lake that is 7 miles long and has 21 miles of shoreline.
Located close to “The Village” downtown area, Snow Summit and Bear Mountain ski resorts, a short walk to the free shuttle service and adjacent to major biking paths, skiing, golfing, tennis and hiking. Our 3,000 sqft. vacation home is perfect for guests looking for the extraordinary home to spend their winter or summer vacation. We wish your family, lots of joy and many 'Marathon Fun Days'!
