What an awesome cabin. Loved the decor of cabin. What a "set up" in kitchen & bathroom. You're very generous with your supplies. Finally saw a moose yesterday morning and last evening saw cow and 2 calves in same grassy area down the road. What a quiet and tranqiul place. We hope to be back. THANK YOU!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Loved the cabin... Lots of extras provided in cabinet, kitchen and bathroom. We saw a bull moose crossing the river first night and the cow and her 2 babies the next morning. We appreciated Mike telling us that the moose caves were in the yard the next morning. This is better than most cabins we've staye din for less money!! Thanks again We will be back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had an incredible time here at the chalet. The wildlife did not disappoint - we saw two moose, a goshawk, many birds and fish. I only wish we had more time here before our next stop. Thanks for thinking of every ammenity we could possibly want. We were so comfortable! Also, the hot tub was a great way to end the day!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We spent the holidays here at the cabin and loved it. With friends in the area, we tried our hands at ice fishing, enjoyed the tranquility and cross-country skied on the river. We will recommend Moose River Resort to our friends! P.S. The hot tub is perfect for below - zero stargazing. :)Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2002
About the owner: I like to introduce myself as "Moose River Mike". Hobbies include flying in my Piper PA18 Supercub all over Alaska, smoking fish, hunting, skeet shooting and wood working. Family man with two small dogs that fit into the airplane without hogging to much space for the weight and balance. MAP DIRECTIONS: Sterling Highway MilePost 81.5, turn North onto Otter Trail Road, drive 1.3 miles, turn left or west onto Bull Run Rd, follow Blue and White Business Signs to 39315 Bull Run Road (road re-named was 39315 Moose Run Road)
Why the Owner Chose Sterling:
Mike fell in love on the Moose River, then decided to put down roots. He hand built the Chalet from the ground up and wanted to extend true Alaskan hospitality by turning it into a Vacation Rental, since he moved into the new house next door. The beauty of the Moose River with all the great birding and wildlife is spectacular year round.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Front row view of the river within 50 feet, yet secluded and private. Gazebo with round table seats 4-6 people. Largest outdoor Hot Tub manufactured by Sundance Spa on a deck with wonderful private views of the river. Private covered sun deck out back with a chest freezer and lounging area, including propane porch heater for winter time use. Just outside from the kitchen is a large stainless steel fish cleaning table and handmade cutting board. Double hamock under the shade tree. Greenhouse and laying chickens (no rousters). Outside BBQ stocked with fresh cut wood, charcoal and firestarter.
