On the Sand Lovely Private Beach House and Tropical Garden

Our home is located on the quiet beach of Potrero Bay in the community of Surfside. We are between the villages of Flamingo and Potrero, which are both within walking distance. This is the perfect home for a secluded and quiet get-away from the Rat Race.
With the fully equipped kitchen you may never leave the air conditioned house and the back-yard beach. Enjoy sand and water sports out the back door or while away the hours with a good book and iced tea in the tropical garden.
But if you want to venture out, the local area has many restaurants and adventure activities to try. Within minutes you could be surfing, jet-skiing, leaving on a fishing charter or catamaran tour, horse back or quad riding just to name a few activities. There are also nearby grocery stores, souvenir shopping, coffee shops, ice cream shops, and other beaches.

We were tremendously pleased with the house, the location, the weather, the help at the property, the friendliness of the local people! The house is lovely with a beautiful grassy back yard right on the beach! We rode beautiful horses on the beach, we surfed at a nearby beach, we rented jet skis, we ate a lot of fresh seafood. The atmosphere of the area was very relaxed and clean. The beach where the house is located was very quiet without many people but if you wanted some lively places with music and a lot of people, some were within walking distance. The owners were very helpful! They gave us a lot of information on places to see and gave us contact info for transportation to and from the airport and for any other wants that we might have. I definately recommend this property. I recommend that you stop on the way to the house and pick up water and anything that you might want to eat for that day. The markets don't stay open all night as do some in the US. We definately want to go back and do it again!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

Our stay in Potrero was amazing. The house was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. We made a trip to the grocery store for some food and had everything else we needed at the house for our meals at "home". The grounds were beautifully maintained. The ocean was just steps away. The kids loved diving for sand dollars! They also tried surfing and boogie boarding. We were able to walk 15 minutes on the beach in both directions and find restaurants to eat in. One was a small informal place and the other was more formal but both were great! The other nights we drove into town and ate at any place that caught our eye and I have to say the food was great in every place we ate. We hired Alex (information on the board in the house) to take us to Nicaragua one day and that was an experience of a lifetime! He was a great tour guide! On another day Alex took us on a river tour (Palo Verde) where we got to see crocodiles, birds, iguanas, etc. and feed the monkeys! On the way back from the river tour we stopped at a zip-line place. It was great fun for the kids and adults alike. We absolutely loved this part of Costa Rica. The people were ALL so friendly and helpful. The owners of the house were also a great resource for any help or ideas we needed before heading over. Thanks!! We will certainly return!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing.

We couldn't have been more please with our stay. The house is situated in a private cove with only a handful of other houses, that all have incredible views of the ocean. Walking out the back door there is a private yard with a nice patio and you're only steps from the beach. Inside the home there are temperature controls in almost every room for a pleasantly controlled temperature and the house was immaculately kept. I highly recommend anyone visiting the area to stay at this home.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

What a great place to escape from the hustle and bustle of life. Our trip started by flying into Liberia. Liberia is a small, modern airport that is easy to navigate. Immigration and customs were a no problem. After renting a car, the drive to the house was our first view of the beauty that Costa Rica is. One of my favorite memories is how I was able to start each day - after sleeping in, I would start my day with a run on the beach. Most mornings, it was just me and the waves. I even skipped the music, so I could enjoy the sound of the waves. No one in sight. After my run, it was into the water for a swim. No better way to start the day. Although the house feels secluded, it is close enough for a quick drive to just about anywhere you would want to go. When we were not utilizing the fully stocked kitchen, we would take a short drive to numerous restaurants. A couple of the Italian ones were my favorites. Several nights, we make a quick run out for Italian ice cream. (Good thing I was running every morning to burn off those calories) Zip lining in the trees, seeing the monkeys, shopping in Brasilito, or pretending to be a surfer in Tamarindo are all just a quick drive away. Ok, maybe one complaint. On the last day of my trip, we had an early afternoon flight home. It left us just enough time for one last ‘quick’ swim in the ocean before our flight. It was suppose to be a quick swim so I skipped the sunscreen. As you will find out if you come here, the water is just so nice. I just didn’t want to leave; I just couldn’t get myself out of the water. Well, I stayed in the water until the last minute, finally drug myself out, made my flight, and took home a sunburn. But the sunburn was worth those extra few minutes in the ocean.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

This home is a great deal. It is lovely, clean, great area, very large and the layout is perfect for relaxing or having a guest over to entertain. They had lots of ideas available to make your vacation great. They are all very close and easy to get to your activity for a day trip. The beach and water was perfect and it was very quiet. The very best thing is the unbelievable sunset each night. Do not miss out on this... I would strongly recommend this vacation home.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

“Our stay in Potrero created a lifetime family memory. The house is very modern, spacious, and clean with a million dollar view of the Pacific Ocean from the Dining Room, Living Room and the upstairs’ Master Bedroom’s huge balcony. The staff made our stay relaxing and stress free. All I can say is two thumbs up!!!”Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Our stay in Costa Rica was one of the greatest holiday we had. The house is beautiful, very large and with everything you need and more... The beach is amazing. Sunrise and sunset by the ocean are just waiting for you. The house is close to everything (shops, plenty of beaches around, grocery store, pubs, restaurants, National parcs, activities...) The staff is very helpful and great to spend time with. It is a quiet location where you can relax, have fun, visit, have excursions and come home and have a BBQ. We recommend you get a car if you want to get around on your own. There are beautiful National Parcs you can visit on your own, beaches to visit, etc. We do recommend this house and intend to go back !! :O)Did you find this review helpful?
