Brookings condo description
WELCOME! From the instant you enter the living area, you will drop your suitcases and stand in awe at the magnificent ocean and sea stacks seen a short distance below. Our condo is considered a prime location at Rainbow Rock because of its unobstructed over 180 degree view south down the Oregon Coast and west out to sea.
A truly beautiful few minutes private access walk along a well groomed winding path and over a wooden bridge to our private deeded beach will lead you to Rainbow Rock's own pot of gold, a cave with unique rock formations which are a geological wonder. When the sun is pouring into the cave colorful rocks go dancing before your very eyes! The beach has driftwood and sea stacks, star fish and mussels, and you will be able to have enjoyable long walks along the coast toward the town of Brookings. Access to this beach is private, for owners and their guests (that's you!) and more often than not, you will have it all to yourselves!
If you like whale watching, pristine tide pools, beachcombing, star gazing, sensational sunsets, hiking (the Coastal Trail is practically at your door step), and sitting in the condo or on the deck watching the waves roll in, then you've picked the perfect place--our balcony! Seasonally, whales stop to socialize with one another right in front of the Rainbow Rock condos, often staying for days at a time. They seem to love showing off by spouting and flipping their tails up in the air, almost like they are inviting you to come play. There is a lookout place just below our condo on Highway 101 (the Coastal Highway) where people pull over to whale watch. The fantastic Harris Beach State Park, just a mile or so away, has a group of locals who offer whale watching tips during winter migration to Mexico where, in the warmer waters of Baja, their babies are born.
Our condo is comfortable and family friendly. It is exceptionally CLEAN and well equiped with furnished linens and kitchen appliances. A gas BBQ is at the ready and a Jen Air stove has a grill. Everything from a popcorn popper to a breadmaker is available for your comfort and use. The master bedroom has its own bathroom and there is also a guest bathroom close to the guest bedroom. The guest bedroom has a double bed and a single bed, the master bedroom has a king size bed, and there is a hide-a-bed in the living room. Pillows are all in protective covers as are the mattresses.
The ocean can be seen from most rooms in the condo, exceptions are the bathrooms and the guest bedroom which overlooks the Rainbow Rock complex. The rhythmic sound of the ocean can be heard from the living, masterbedroom, and kitchen areas, especially when the sliding glass doors and windows are open, adding to the atmosphere of being at the fabulous Oregon Coast. From this condo highway traffic is not heard so you can enjoy the deck while reading, visiting or just watching the exciting ocean scene. This is a top floor (3rd) end unit affording all the privacy you could want.

Owner response: Ahhh, those lovely sunsets! The great thing about our place is the unobstructed, from other buildings, view that you have. Truly, it is hard to equal our view.......anywhere!
We were very pleased with your condo. The views were great. It's well maintained & was very clean. We would recommend that the masterbath drain at the sink be cleaned, it is slow draining. We enjoyed our stay & would recommend the condo to friends.

Wonderful Condo in Brookings
Wonderful Condo in Brookings
Our family of 4 stayed for 5 nights in this spectacular condo while exploring the Redwoods State and National Parks in California. The view from this place is absolutely the best! The walk down to the beach was easy and the beach itself was very nice. We found many starfish and anemones along with some very pretty rocks/stones. The owners are very nice and quite helpful. If we are ever in Brookings again, I would not hesitate to stay here. I highly recommend this wonderful condo.

Owner response: It is wonderful that your family had such a nice time in our area! The Redwoods truly are an inspiring place to visit and are within just a short drive from Brookings. The view from our windows can't be beat and you never know what you are going to see. We had a front row seat to the tsunami that rolled in from Japan and also saw the Coast Guard practice life-saving techniques right by our place. Whales like to play not far from our beach. Yep, our condo is pretty spectacular! Thanks for coming!

Owner response: Thank you for sharing your experience at our condo! We love the view, too, especially when the whales are wondering back to Alaska with their babies. Often, they will stop and play in plain view out by the sea stacks.
Beautiful views! This condo exceeded all expectations. Owners were very helpful with my questions and unit was just as described! We loved every minute of our time here!

Owner response: Our family LOVES to come here, and we are happy that yours had a great time, too. There may be one, somewhere, but I can't imagine a better view than the one seen from our windows!
My parents visiting from Iowa were tickled pink (as was I ) with the incredible view of the Pacific Ocean! It surpassed our expectations! Amenities were abundant, and location prime. We did have a little trouble operating the TV (despite excellent directions) , but it may have had more to do with the Satellite signal, and we didn't really need a TV anyway!

We hope you spent some time exploring our private beach and that all of you will someday return. As for the TV, it is a bran new flat screen just waiting to be enjoyed!
We found everything as advertised. The condo was very well stocked and nicely decorated.

About the owner: We have greatly enjoyed our condo for the past decade. Until we retired in 2006, we were able to spend many long weekends, an easy drive from our home in California. It was always such a nice break from my husbands busy medical practice to relax for awhile at Rainbow Rock. Crabbing down at the wharf in Harbor, just across the bridge from Brookings and visiting local parks and beaches are what we like to do. We also love the nearby Redwood groves, forests and lighthouses along the Southern Oregon coast.
Why the Owner Chose Brookings:
We love the Oregon Coast! We also have a large family and wanted to provide a place for them to enjoy. We had looked at many possibilities up and down the coast and liked Brookings best. This area of the Oregon coast is called the banana belt because of its warmer weather. Brookings is big enough for good places to eat and fun things to do but small enough to not feel hurried. It is close to wonderful things to see like the Redwoods and small port towns. It is a great location and on the ocean, couldn't ask for more! Our grandchildren find lots to do here and love to come visit us.....that's a big plus!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Serenity, beauty, comfortable, safe gated community, nice people to meet, short walk to the beach through a lovely wooded area that is well kept, close to town, fishing, for starters. Wild blackberries grow along the mountain pathway below the condo and we enjoy picking them to eat and bake a pie. The Coastal Trail by the condo leads to a lookout over the ocean via a wooded pathway that crosses a little bridge, It is a nice walk through pines and ferns.
