This house was surprising and wonderful! We loved it! The kitchen is fully stocked! We pre-made our meals before our trip and now we know that won't be necessary next time. It will be a breeze to cook while there the kitchen has everything you need to make all kinds of meals! This house has so many surprises! The bedrooms are plenty roomy with comfy beds and there are extra pillows everywhere! (Wonderful!) The Loft was a happy surprise! It's HUGE! Perfect place for kids to hang out or adults that need some time away from others. Even though it is above the garage it was plenty warm! That was a nice surprise! The garage is game room central! A Foosball and Ping Pong table await for some serious fun to be had! We were surprised to find the house was very large! So much space for our crafting weekend and the views were terrific! The deck was wonderful! We were only sad that it rained too much to enjoy tea on it. Also we were not able to use the fire pit and the rain was like buckets coming down. Two experiences we will enjoy on our next visit. The property is very well maintained, parking is easy and plentiful. We had four cars there. The house was very clean and full of amenities! Shampoo/conditioner, towels, washer/dryer, extra light bulbs in case one goes out during your stay. Lots of attention has been paid to these minor details that really made our trip less stressful and easy! The owners are very friendly, kind and helpful. All our questions were answered quickly and fully. Wonderful people! A fantastic find is Owl's Antiques, we found many treasures! There is also a grocery store two minutes up the road. The Mexican restaurant was affordable and delicious! We are making plans to return again very soon! I highly recommend this rental for anyone. This house can accommodate many different types of vacations. We loved it, absolutely loved it!

This place is amazing! The description is 100% spot on, everything is exactly the way it looks in the pictures. It's clean, comfortable and roomy with all the necessary amenities and then some. All around wonderful! There were 5 of us so each had our own bed and with the loft over the garage it was nice for those that wanted to go to bed early and those that wanted to sleep in - the noise didn't carry. It was surprising how warm it was in the loft, being over the garage I expected cold but it's well insulated and stayed cozy. I would happily stay here again and hope to in the future.

We had a Great time..it was so clean and comfortable. There was plenty of room. We had a bon fire,,did wine tasting right accross the street..grilled frest oysters..played games. We didn't want to leave. We can't wait to come back again. Very relaxing. Thank you for sharing your place...it is Wonderful !!!

We really enjoyed our weekend retreat on the beautiful Hood Canal. The view is amazing! The property was was even better in person. When we arrived everything was super clean and just what the owner had described. We were not disappointed at all. There is a lovely winery across the street and just a few blocks down was a grocery store, Stottle Winery and shops. We had a great time down on the beach and enjoed the fire pit and BBQ that night. It was so relaxing and peaceful. I look forward to coming back soon. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us!

A girls get-away to Hood Canal. Beautiful spot on the canal. great home with plenty of room and plenty of light. Jim was easy to work with and willing to share the history of his family wall photos. I will return soon. Thank You Jim

The place was clean and comfortable, it was easy to find and the owner was very agreeable. It is RIGHT on the beach, so picking oysters with the kids was a highlight. The neighbors brought crab to share with us and the kids played a lot of foosball and pingpong.

This is a beautiful house with a deck almost hanging over the Hood Canal. Sea lions were chasing birds in front of us. Lots of room in the shed and garage for hanging dive gear. Friendly helpful owner and housekeeper who gave us lots of flexibility. Short drive to Sund Rock and Octopus Hole. Couldn't be nicer so stay away and leave it for us.

We rented this house for the Thanksgiving Holiday and it was wonderful. Fully stocked with everything we needed! The house was great and very comfortable. We will definetly plan a return visit soon.

We had such an amazing stay at this home! The pictures don't do it justice......Every feature of the home was so comfortable and relaxing. We had 6 adults and 2 small children and we all felt very comfortable and had enough space throughout the house to move around and relax. The loft was great and the kitchen was perfect and had everything you would need for a great meal. We had a big seafood cookout on saturday and enjoyed being able to all sit around the large dining room table. Having cable TV was a bonus for the kids and the adults really enjoyed the ping pong table in the garage. I recommend this house 100%! Don't think about it, just rent it.....you wont regret it!

Great view, location, scuba, house

This house is great for 2-4 couples or families with older kids. The two individual rooms are perfect for couples. The loft is directly over the double garage and perfect for couples that are ok with sharing personal space or for kids that are old enough to know how to use stairs and be separated from parents. The loft is very open and has four beds plus a crib for larger parties. The appliances are "vintage" but work fine. We loved the layout of the kitchen to the common area. Owner was willing to work with us and was very open to requests. We went scuba right off the beach from the house, caught crab, and grilled oysters on the deck. No luck in clamming from the nearby beaches, but only because Potlach was closed. Will head up to Duckabush next time as it is well known for clamming and not much further up the road. Only drawback was figuring out what light switches did what as the electrical seemed very "custom." We turned it into a game to guess which one did what. I would highly recommend this to a friend and look forward to our next stay.

Surpassed all expectations - a beautiful house with all the touches of home

Everything about renting this house worked out flawlessly, and exceeded all of my expectations. From communication with the owner (who is super nice and great to work with), to checking out, seriously loved every minute of it. My first thought when walking into the house was "I can't wait to come back here". It is even more delightful in person than in the photos. The owners have really gone out of their way to make this place feel comfortable and welcoming. Small touches like coffee filters, toiletries, zip lock bags and staple pantry items like flour, sugar, and spices go so far to make the place easy to stay in. It was just two of us staying here for a long weekend, but the layout is great for multiple families and children to enjoy, the garage has ping pong and foosball, and enough room that I was able to get in a great workout (thanks for the radio out there!!). The view and location are incredible. We quickly got to the Staircase park entrance for hiking, spent a day at Alderbrook resort kayaking and enjoying their spa, and we drove North to check out the rest of the canal along 101. It is so central to everything this region has to offer. The only thing that would have made the trip better was if it was twice as long!!

i stayed at this home with some family and friends for a wedding that took place in Hoodsport, and we couldn't have found a better property. It's easy to see that the owner is very thoughtful and takes pride in this place. It's extremely clean, organized and well-kept. The place itself has a great layout with plenty of space for a couple families to share the house for a Hood Canal vacation and it has everything you will need (and some things you didn't know you needed). I particularly appreciated the attention to detail, here are some examples (we cook a lot, so much of this is related to the kitchen :) ): the owner provides everything you need for a canal-side bonfire, it was so easy to find things in the kitchen, and there were already glass mugs in the freezer for us to use upon arrival! Some of my other family members stopped by to check it out and now they want to reserve it for themselves. Thanks, Jim, for an awesome stay. We will be back!

This was the perfect place to stay with our 18mo old and 5 year old. The loft upstairs provided a quiet place for the baby to sleep without the rest of us having to be silent as well. The house would work well for someone in a wheelchair if you can get them in the garage and up 2 stairs. The bathroom by the kitchen is big enough for a wheelchair. The kitchen is wonderful and open to the family room so you can be a part of the action. The winery is across the street and also sells select micro brews. So relaxing!

Wonderful Week On The Canal

What a great place we chose to celebrate a 60th and a 40th birthday. The beach house was wonderful when we had a house full the first weekend with all the room there. The loft bedroom is quite an added bonus along with the table games in the garage. The deck was plenty big for everybody to sit out there, BBQ, and eat comfortably while enjoying the spectacular views. When the weekend was over the wife and I got to enjoy the whole place to ourselves and enjoyed every minute of it. There are so many great places to go and see without having to drive forever. Hoodsport and this beach house have a lot to offer and I highly recommend them both. Thank you Jim and family for sharing your jewel on Hood Canal with others.

I stayed at this wonderful house with my two children, mother, and sister and there was plenty of room for all of us. It was just like living in my own home except with a better view, as the house was stocked with everything one would need. It was decorated nicely and we felt comfortable being there. The house was easy to find and well located to Hoodsport. The owner was easy to work with also. I would recommend a stay at this house and plan on staying there again in the future.

We had such a wonderful time at this charming house. The house was very clean, beds were comfortable, the kitchen was completely stocked, we loved the open floor plan and the garage and loft for the kids was perfect. We will definitely be back. This vacation property is everything it promises to be, which is such a refreshing change compared to other experiences, that it seems even better upon reflection 4 months later. I'm happy to see that everyone who has been lucky enough to stay here has had the same positive experience. I can't think of anything new to add that hasn't already been said, except "Congrats Jim" on creating the perfect vacation home. Your parents would be proud.

A group of us stayed here in June on a dive trip to Hood Canal. The views from the deck are fantastic and the location is perfectly situated just outside of Hoosport for those wanting to explore on land, above or below the water the many beautiful sights of Hood Canal. The owers were great to work with and really cater to divers. There is plentiful and easy parking for groups, and did I mention the view? Awesome place. We will be back again.

GREAT place for a family gathering!

My family spent two nights at this house in June. Included in the group were my kids, ages 4 and 7, my husband and my parents, ages 82 and 92. The sleeping loft and garage provided space for my kids to play and be goofy while having the two bedrooms on the main floor, along with the two bathrooms, offered privacy and convenience for the adults. My dad has limited mobility. With only four steps up into the house and one-floor access to the bedrooms, baths, kitchen, living room and deck, he could relax and just enjoy being with his grandkids. The easy access to the beach was perfect for my kids who, even on a cool day in June, got into their bathing suits, jumped around in Puget Sound, and spent hours gathering up crabs, digging, and playing on the beach. And we could watch all of the action from the deck. It met all of our very diverse needs extremely well. I must also add that although we did not meet the owner, all of our interactions with him were highly professional, thoughtful and timely. This is a treasure of a place and I hope we are able to go back again soon!!

This house was perfect for our family. We have three young children, the house and deck were very safe for kids. We had plenty of space to move about, so much next time we will invite another family to come with us. We were very happy with all of the accomodations. It was a great getaway from the city.

We came to this home as two families, it fit all 8 of us comfortably. The kids loved the Ping-Pong table and being able to come and go to the beach as they pleased. Sitting on the deck watching wild life and the kids feeding the birds was priceless. Listening to seals and watching them play in the water sure became a highlight for the kids. The morning sunrise was phenomenal as well. The owners were so easy to work with and made the transaction very smooth. We all can't wait for a return trip so we will definitely be returning the home.

We stayed here for a weekend in January. The owner was very helpful in making sure we found the home and enjoyed our stay. The home is very comfortable and nicely furnished. It's right on the water and the view was beautiful. It's clear that the owner has taken quite a bit of time in making sure the home is a comfortable place to stay. We were also here to dive this weekend. The house is in the perfect location for divers. We will stay here again next time we're in Hoodsport!

We spent four nights at this Hoodsport home over the New Years holiday to relax and go scuba diving. The home is located right at the water's edge with large windows to view the sunrise every morning. The home was spotlessly clean and the owners even provided us with a bottle of champagne to celebrate on New Years' eve. Both bedrooms downstairs are directly across from their own bathrooms. This was very convenient for the four adults who stayed here. The kitchen is very well stocked. Even though the home was close to the roadway, we never heard any vehicles. It is also a very short drive into the town of Hoodsport where there's a grocery store, restaurants and the Hood Sport 'n Dive Shop. The short distance to the dive shop was convenient for filling tanks and there are many dive sites nearby. We really enjoyed relaxing and looking at the beautiful scenery. We also played some ping pong in the garage which has been converted to a game room. The owners were very helpful and made sure that we felt at home. We will definitely be back!
