A stunning Flemish tapestry compliments the contemporary furnishings in the living room. It is an elegant and eclectic mix, impressive and welcoming at the same time.
Monterey Country Club is a private gated community with guards on duty 24/7, patrolling 375 acres of homes and golf course greens in the heart of Palm Desert, centered in the Coachella Valley near Palm Springs. The landscaping is excellently maintained with beautiful seasonal planting of flowers and shrubs, mature trees and well-kept lawns. The grounds offer spectacular views of mountains, lakes and rolling greens providing 27 holes of golf on a championship course designed by Ted Robinson. There are 19 tennis courts, 36 swimming pools with jacuzzis, a fitness center, pro shop and driving range, with a recently remodeled clubhouse dining room, informal lounge and an outdoor breakfast, lunch and snack bar within a short walking distance of our home.
At 1,500 square feet, this deluxe condo is one of the most popular floor plans at Monterey Country Club. A heated swimming pool with hot-tub jacuzzi is a block away. The living room is spacious with a vaulted ceiling, wood burning fireplace, Sony TV with sound system, DVD & VCR. Time Warner Cable supplies High Speed Wireless Internet service which can be accessed throughout the house. The windows and sliding glass doors in the living room look West over the Golf Club’s 8th green, and glorious afternoon sunshine streams in. These doors open onto a private patio terrace which can be entered from the kitchen as well as the living room. There is a new Barbeque with a full set of tools, shade umbrella and a round outdoor dining table seating four to six people, along with comfortable garden furniture, recliners and side tables. The patio is a perfect place for intimate dinners al fresco, enjoying the sunset, and during the days you can watch golfers going by the eighth hole while you bask in the panoramic view of beautiful mountains and greenery surrounding you.
An elegant dining area between the living room and kitchen will seat six or eight people at a glass topped table with wicker backed Breuer chairs. The well equipped kitchen has an electric stove and a new side-by-side refrigerator with through-the-door ice and water dispenser. There is a Blender, Toaster, Cuisinart food processor, Coffee Maker and other small appliances and the kitchen is fully stocked with all the china, glassware, flatware, cookware, bake ware and cooking utensils you might need. At home catering can be arranged with an excellent local chef. An outdoor atrium is adjacent to the cozy den, which can be used as an office-library and has a pair of twin sized studio couches which could accommodate extra guests. The guest bedroom has a full sized bed, TV, mirrored wardrobe and across the hall is a bathroom with his and hers sinks and a shower-tub combination which can also serve as a guest bathroom. The large master bedroom has a king size bed, TV, DVD player and a twelve foot mirrored closet. It has its own adjoining private wood-paneled master bathroom with tub - shower combo, his and hers sinks. All linens, towels, pool towels and bed linens are provided and there is a separate laundry - storage room with a full sized clothes washer and drier, stocked with appropriate supplies.

As described by the owner, this condo is full of character and charm, created by this wonderful mix of antiques, modern and seventies furniture. The result is that it is interesting and more attractive than the usual rental to be found in the desert.The use of colour provides warmth and charm. The living space is very comfortable and the place grows on you daily. It is very well equipped for living and entertaining. The seating in the living room is comfortable with good reading light both day and night, The dining area cleverly blends with the antiques of the adjoining living room and is comfortable for family meals or entertaining.The bed rooms have lots of storage space / bureaus and large cupboards. The magnificent views of the mountains and the golf course are ever present from the patio, kitchen and living room.There is a short walk to the pool and club house. The MCC itself is close to many excellent public golf courses, shops, parks and the many activities offered in the desert. The owner is charming and helpful. As a full time resident of the area, she can answer most of your questions or at least point you in the right direction.. After a month's stay with friends we look forward to a return visit next yearRecommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, people with disabilities.

Rates
October - May: $1,575/weekly, $300/day; Utilities are included. June - Sept : $1,400/weekly, $250/day. Utilities to be paid by renter. Minimum stay is 5 days. Extra days pro-rated, discounts for more than two weeks. Housekeeping fees and Palm Desert city tax are included in rates for fewer than 31 days. Visa and MasterCard are accepted in US dollars, with a 2% convenience fee. A Refundable Security Deposit of $ 350 and 50% of the Rental are due at the time of Booking and balance of half the rent is due at Occupancy. For Holiday weeks or weekends there is a 25% premium on daily rate. Please, No Smoking inside.

We love Monterey Country Club, own two other condos which we rent and rather than putting furniture into storage after leaving Los Angeles to live permanently in the desert, we bought this condo to house our special things. We keep it for family and friends who come to visit us in the desert and now will rent it from time to time to people who can enjoy and respect its uniqueness.
