Enjoy our cozy cabin this winter season! Just about a quarter of a mile away from the Bear Mountain Ski Resort.
The 'Bear Vista Retreat' is a 3 bedroom 2 bath cabin that has comfortable sleeping for 6 people. All the bedrooms are on the entrance level. We have a queen bed on bedroom 1 and 2, and a twin bunk bed on the third bedroom. We provide all linens and towels so that you don't have to worry about that on your next trip.
Upstairs is the main living area with the living room, kitchen, dining area and access to the yard. The living room has a flat screen TV with cable, wood burning fireplace (firewood not provided) and a bathroom. A great area for the family to congregate and have a good time after a day of skiing or venturing around town. We have great views of the ski resort too!

My family and I have been staying at this cabin for the past 3 years. We generally head to Big Bear once at the beginning of winter and once in the spring with a few exceptions. For as long as we’ve used it, we’ve always walked in to find a nice and clean place. This cabin isn’t one of those rundown places. I believe it’s been sold once or twice while we’ve used it but the management company has always been the same. They have maintained the home in good condition and have resolved all the minor issues we’ve come across. We enjoy our visits here alot. We have 3 children that LOVE snowboarding but us adults can’t keep up with them every day of vacation. Having a house that’s walking distance to the resort is crucial for us because they can head over there any time they want to and come back whenever they want to. One thing I am not so crazy about the home is that the entrance level is the floor with all the 3 bedrooms. The main floor is upstairs with the living room, kitchen, dining room, etc. I would choose to have it the other way around. I’m guessing when they build the house they did this because of the view. I found it a bit odd. I have recommended this cabin to a few friends and they’ve loved it as well.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, pet owners, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My vacation research for a nice place to stay while in Big Bear, I looked at listing accuracy regarding location. I am very sad to report that the property looked as if it needed to be dusted & vacuumed "before" our arrival. One of the key items was that it was not a pet-friendly property and the first thing I noticed was the amount of dog hair (light/light brown) everywhere. A family in black, jeans, and luggage, the hair was very noticeable:( Secondly, WIFI was unavailable due to password invalidity...The property managers supplied us with two (2) passwords, both did not work. As for the property managers, I do know that when called prior to our arrival in CA and while here, they were not familiar with the property...referred to Cesar...who supposedly visits the property...but could never get him on the phone or via callback...the assistance with our two issues were somewhat met. They did send someone to tidy up the property, yet upon our return to the home...realistically she could not get remedy the dog hair situation. It is still everywhere, especially on the bedding:( I am hoping that we would be able to notify the "owner" of the property and bypass property management such that the owner knows firsthand of these issues that are being used to market vacationers to stay at Bear Vista Retreat and in hopes that the owners may follow-up with Property Managers. Otherwise, property is very close to Bear Mountain... a big plus. Somewhat walking distance, but smart to drive if you spend the day skiing or snowboarding. It is an uphill walk from Bear Mountain. Place is very easy to find!Recommended for: Pet owners.
