  Marilyn's apartment near Veracruz is amazing. A very large and spacious penthouse apartment with great views in a peaceful setting. Falling asleep to the sound of waves and waking up to sounds of birds. The place had everything we needed along with a pool and morning yoga. Only 30 minutes from Panama City. Lots of great beaches and interesting sites nearby. Would gladly stay here again. Thanks Marilyn and Jerry!

• Experiencing Panama

  Great place to stay to experience Panama. Far enough away from the hustle & bustle but close enough to enjoy Panama City. We did not rent a car and had a driver/taxi service available when needed (saved money and headache of trying to find our way around in a city that does not have a lot of street signs). After reviewing all of the other locations in the city and seeing comments about noise, no water, no electricity, etc. we found our location to be perfect. The only things that disrupted our tranquility were the wind gusts off the ocean and the dogs across the street - things the owner could not control. Had we stayed in the city, we may have had city noise which was not my idea of a vacation. Marilyn & Jerry were wonderful to visit with and share ideas about where to go for dinner, etc.

  Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing.

  We stayed in the apartment because we too had some business in Panama City but wanted an ocean view without the noise of Cinta Costera and the construction all over the city. It took us such a short time to make the trip to and from Panama City and we never regretted our decision to stay here. Sitting by the pool in the evenings with the ocean right by us was so relaxing and an occasional dinner at one of the beach restaurants was great, and very affordable. We did drive into the city occasionally for dinner, and it was easy. Marilyn & Jerry gave us a list of their favorite restaurants and we had some great dinners. We had friends with us for awhile and the apartment is so large that we never felt crowded, not to mention that there are three bathrooms. Our friends did some sightseeing and said that the apartment's location just over the bridge works out well for them too. We would definitely stay again and recommend this place for people who want an ocean side apartment without being way down the beach near Coronado or in the noise and traffic of Panama City.

  We wanted to be in Panama City for business but aren't used to lving in a condo so wanted to stay some place in a neighborhood. This apt. worked really well for us. It was a short drive to the offices we needed to visit and we could be in and out before the commute traffic started. It was so relaxing being out by the ocean and sitting by the pool as the sun set. Marilyn and Jerry offered to arrange airport transportation for us, andwe saw a lot of taxis in Veracruz but we chose to rent a car. With the great directions they gave us we had no problem finding out way to Casa Las Olas from the international airport on the other side of Panama city. We spent quiet a bit of time at the Veracruz beach and beach restaurants but it was so convenient to drive into Panama City from this direction that we were able to enjoy some great restaurants there too. We recommend this apt. to anyone who would rather not be in the traffic noise of Panama City, but wants to be closer to the canal, Casco Viejo, city businesses, etc. than the beach resorts that are over an hours drive down the coast. I have to add that the apt. is even bigger than it appears in the photos. It's so roomy and the views are wonderful.

  This is a great apartment and location for visiting Panama! The location is perfect....no traffic and city noises, but a short drive to Panama City where we found great restaurants and shopping, as well as beautiful parks. We also drove about 20 minutes to the Panama Canal and museum, which is so amazing to see. It's also a good central location for visiting many parts of the country. We drove 2 or 3 hours and were in the beautiful little mountain town of El Valle, which is so quiet and charming. The Albrook Airport in Panama City offers many daily flights to other parts of the country. We flew to Isla Contadora in the fabulous Pearl Islands and spent two perfect days. The beaches there are the best I have ever seen. Back at the apartment it is quiet and relaxing, with spectacular ocean views and breezes. The apartment is quite spacious, and very clean and well kept. The owners are very nice, and were so helpful with information about what to do and see in Panama. There are also several nice, local beach restaurants that are less than five minutes from the apartment. The food there is good and inexpensive. We had a great experience staying there, and hope to go back sometime soon.

  Great views of the Pacific from the huge windows in the great room. Location is excellent to get to the country or the city. And no city traffic noise!! We especially enjoyed the restaurants on the beach where the food was delicious and inexpensive and just minutes away from the apartment. The owners were helpful and directed us to many places to visit that we would have never known about.

  What a wonderful place to be away from the city, but still be close enough to run in to shop or dine at one of the many fine restaurants. We enjoyed watching the shrimp boats as they pass by daily, the lights of the ships at night waiting to go through the Canal, the tidal extremes, and hearing the ocean lapping on the seawall. We had great dinners at several of the beach restaurants that are no more than a few minutes away. We loved the central location because we were able to explore many parts of Panama's interior and beautiful mountain towns. When we got tired of shopping or exploring, we had a shaded yard that we could sit in and enjoy the tropical breeze while we relaxes or read our books. Definitely a place we would love to go back to.
