My family and I just left Tranquility yesterday. I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay and what a beautiful rental home it is. Our only hiccup was the power going out twice the first night but Cherie was on the phone with me right away which I appreciated so much. My husband passed away in January after a long battle with cancer and this was a trip for me and our two adult children to spend some much needed time together without the interruptions of daily life. Even though Im a floridian I have spent alot of time in the mountains throughout my life and they give me peace of mind that no other place does and this vacation was healing for all of us. So we wanted to thank you and the owners of Tranquility for such a beautiful place to spend time at. We will definitely be back next yearDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

About: We have been retired for 12+ years.....Win from insurance sales and management and Carol from Congressional District Administrator. We love to travel, enjoy our Bernese Mountain dog, and new experirences.
Why Dillsboro:
Actually we built this home as a place to get away from the heat and humidity of summers in FL. For 5 years we have spent each May through Oct. living here and soaking up the friendliness of the natives.
It is only 8 hours from our winter home and is all 4 lane highway thus making it easier for young grandchildren to visit during their summer breaks,
It is only 45-50 minutes to the Asheville airport .
The Unique Benefits at this Chalet:
We love being within 15 minutes of the Great Smokey Mountain National Park to enjoy all it has to offer, as well as, being able to view a nearby elk herd, spend time at the incredibly beautiful Biltmore House and Gardens, take grandchildren to Dollywood amusement park in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area, and enjoy live theater in Franklin which is 20 minutes away. Another favorite of ours is taking Rt. 64 from Franklin to Highlands. It is a national historic route and one not to be in a hurry when you're driving it.
