About the owner: I retired to Palmetto 12 years ago after working for 21 years in Charlotte NC as an auditor in the construction industry. Before then, I worked for 13 years at Michigan Tech University in Houghton, MI after serving in the Air Force for 4 years during the Viet Nam War era. I was born and raised in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and have degrees from Michigan Tech and Wayne State University in Detroit. I considered many other places to spend my retirement, including the Carribean, Central America and east coast of Florida, but chose the more economical and slower/peaceful lifestyle of the Gulf Coast.
Why the Owner Chose Palmetto:
The weather is incredibly beautiful the year around compared with places up north. The number of activities available is enormous in a relaxed smaller-town atmosphere without the hustle and bustle of a big city but with all the cultural and entertainment activities offered by Tampa and Sarasota. If you haven't been to the Palmetto area before, come and see us. Compare us with other areas you know and you will see why we live here.
