  We almost skipped Oahu on this trip- being tired of the Honolulu hassles. This place was absolutely perfect!! It gave us a quiet wonderful well-equipped home base to go from and we have never enjoyed Oahu as much as we did this trip. Unbelievable ocean sunrises were right down the street. The unit was exceptionally clean and cooking in the kitchenette was easier than in many kitchens. The owner was cordial and helpful. We hiked recovered from jet lag, hiked Diamond Head, visited the North Shore, went snorkeling, did downtown Waikiki and explored Kailua all in 3 days. This is the ONLY way to do Oahu in our opinion. The little courtyard was cute and secluded, we never even needed the available air conditioning because of nice breezes. We would definitely stay here again and definitely recommend to friends! Parking was no problem either.

  We spent 11 days at Holiday Palms, and we couldn't be happier with our choice! The location is perfect. We are a family of five (two adults, three kids), and we all slept in the bedroom using an extra air mattress. We were all completely comfortable. The clean kitchen provided everything we needed for cooking--we used the electric skillet a lot. We ate in most evenings to save money for sightseeing, and we loved eating out on the private patio. There is a plant on the patio that has the most delicious smell in the evenings! The kids loved the pool, but with so many beautiful beaches so close by, we found that we didn't use it much after the first few days. We explored the island--the location is so convenient! The owner is a gem and provided us with everything we needed for our stay. She was very gracious, answered all of our questions, and went above and beyond in showing us fun places to go. We rented a kayak at Kailua Sailboards & Kayaks for an afternoon (recommended), and we spent more money at Island Snow than we want to admit. We walked to the beach, which is very close and a lovely walk, when we weren't exploring other parts of the island. The center of town, with food stores (even a brand new Whole Foods Market), shops, and weekly farmers' markets, is also very close. We are already planning a return trip to Holiday Palms!

  We spent three nights at Holiday Palms after leaving the hustle/bustle of Honolulu and Waikiki. This location is perfect, within walking distance to the beach in one direction, and downtown to shops and some great restaurants. My husband and I traveled with our teenage daughter. There was plenty of room in the bedroom for the three of us, using the futon. The kitchen came with some basic supplies and a bowl of fresh fruit! We had a private patio, nicely landscaped. We used their backyard pool, which we had to ourselves. The owner is quite lovely, and was very accommodating. We will definitely be back when traveling in this area!

  We found Holiday Palms to be a great location for us to walk both to the beach and to Kailua Town. The bus is nearby and, like us, you might not even want to have a car for most, if not all, of the time you visit. Since our stay was two weeks long and we do much of our own cooking, we particularly enjoyed having the clean, spacious kitchen with appropriate cooking utensils (and outdoor BBQ). We appreciated so many things: a separate bedroom/sitting area; a quiet neighborhood; the welcome fruit and breakfast items; and the wi-fi that kept us connected during our entire stay. The air conditioning wasn’t even needed during our February stay and we found Kailua beach so alluring that we didn’t use the attractive pool. Maybe next time. We enjoyed our privacy and found the hosts to be very helpful and friendly. This was our fourth trip to Kailua and we definitely expect to come back to Holiday Palms!

  We stayed for 3 nights and found Holiday Palms to be excellent value for money and very accurately listed. We were 4 adults (parents and 2 grown sons) so utilized the fold out futon also which was a double bed size. It does not have an oven but does have a full size fridge, toaster, microwave, coffee pot, and plug in 2 burner on top of the counter type of hot plate appliance. We used it to cook a simple meal one night. We found a lovely bowl of fresh fruit, orange juice, ground coffee and milk waiting for us when we arrived - nice touch, thank you! We did not need to use the air conditioning as there was a beautiful cool breeze through the apartment. The property is clean, well maintained and perfect for access to Kailua beach - no need to drive to the beach but if you desire to there is plenty of free parking in the beach park. There are plenty of restaurants and a grocery store within a 3-5 minute drive. There is a Kayak, Windsurfing, snorkeling rental place between the apartment and the beach - also does lessons. The owner happened to be away but the "replacement" host was very gracious and accommodating. I would definitely recommend staying here..

  This is the best place to stay in Kailua! Previously living on O’ahu, Kailua remains my absolute favorite place on island. Beautiful beaches, clear blue water, quaint town, amazing view of the mountains, etc. The house is in a very quiet neighborhood but close to so much (7-Eleven, shopping, grocery, BEACHES, etc). Very clean house with fresh towels, linens, beach gear, access to laundry, etc. Updated, modern appliances, furnishings & decor. Even has air conditioning! Not much use for AC on the windward side of the island with the great trade winds, but so nice to have at night! Took us just seconds to get to Kailua Beach Park every morning with a cup of coffee in hand to watch sunrise almost every day. No better way to start the day in paradise! The private entrance has its own lanai which makes it feel like you are in your own home. The owners respected our privacy, but are so friendly and helpful anytime you needed them. This is an ideal place for anyone- families, couples, single traveler, etc. Cannot wait until my next vacation to my private little Kailua get-a-way!
