Peaceful and quiet!
Peaceful and quiet!
Found this place last minute for the 4th weekend. I was surprised it was still available. House is on a peaceful street. The large kitchen and dining area is my favorite for entertaining our group. I love to cook so the high end appliances make it very enjoyable. Very close to the river run and easy access to the Ironman Tahoe bike loop.

Home amongst the Quaking Aspens
Home amongst the Quaking Aspens
I chose this house as a romantic mountain retreat for my husband and myself because of the photograghs advertising an open floor plan with tall windows and plenty of light, well furnished rooms with a comfortable looking upholstered furnature and attractive bedroom Linens. We were delighted with the home. It was so private and quiet with only the rustle of the quaking Aspen leaves in the breezes. The master bedroom on the second floor has gorgeous large windows that face into the Aspens and two sky lights that reveal brilliant stars in night sky. The house is located in the safe, family orientated community of Alpine Meadows. A neighborhood where strolling in the evening is typical. The house is a very short drive to the trailhead of the popular Five Lakes trail. Additionally, one can walk less than half a mile to a trailhead that will take you through the valley through the pine trees up to Alpine Meadows Ski resort, or in the other direction, towards Paige Meadow. In Squaw Valley we hiked up past Shirley lake to High Camp where we enjoyed amazing views of Lake Tahoe encircled by the Sierras, from the back of North Star to Heavenly, then we would ride the Gondola swooping back down to Squaw Valley's base. The spacious kitchen is well equipped with any utensil or gadget I wanted and the dishes were new and cheerful. Everything was sparkling and fresh. The owner was organized and responded immediately. We were able to make arrangement at the last moment. She was also thoughtful enough to return our deposit by the second day we were home. I have special memories of this particular home and will return as often as we can get away from our busy lives.
