• Perfect beach house!!

  We absolutely loved our time at the Sun and Moon house. The house is beautiful, comfortable, clean and served our family perfectly. Our group consisted of my husband and myself, our 26 and 24 yr old children and my husband's parents. We all had plenty of room and our own space to enjoy. Everything we needed was there for us. Loved the great beach chairs, cooler and beach cart for the short, gorgeous walk to the beach. Dealing with Larry was a pleasure, and he even went the extra mile to personally mail some forgotten items to our daughter. Already planning our return trip - maybe this fall?!?!

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

  Owner response: We thank you so much for your kind review. It's quite a compliment that you may try for a second trip this fall - especially as you must travel from Colorado. You'll see some changes on your next visit as we make some improvements in our both our Sun & Moon and Mermaid homes each year. This September both get resurfacing of pools and paver stones to cover the entire pool deck for a really fresh look, as well as gaining a non-slip surface. We do look forward to your return!

  The house is amazing, as is the the island. Larry and Donna take great care and pride in the place, and are ALWAYS available for anything you might need. 5 stars is not enough for how great the house is, it's even better than you can expect. We have been to many places and rented many houses, but this far exceeds anything else. We will be going back for sure!!!

  Each summer, we have a family vacation on Captiva with our daughters and their families. This house was just perfrect for our family. The bedrooms are situated far enough apart to allow for individual privacy but being in the same house is great for family activities. The house was extremely clean, and the owners made sure that there were sufficient necessities, such as soap, tissue, and toilet paper, to start the week. The beach buggy and umbrellas were put to good use at the beach, as well as the floaties and other toys available for the grandchildren. The pool is refreshing, after spending a few hours on the beach, and the patio is great for a family gathering and cookout. Restaurants, the beach, and many activities are all within a minute walk, and we rarely used our rental car. My family highly recommends the Sun and Moon House for a perfect Captiva Island family vacation!

  What gracious hosts Larry and Donna are! Our stay at the Sun and Moon house could not have been better. The house is situated on a very private lot, with everything you need for time at the beach, leisurely relaxing on the upper deck,which is located outside of the master bedroom, convenient barbeque, and warm pool! A fully stocked kitchen, washer and dryer, cleaning supplies. All you need for a wonderful week on the most beautiful island is at your fingertips. Donna called us on Sunday morning to see if all was well, and when I mentioned we could not figure out the cable tv, Larry came over and left instructions. I would recommend this house to families looking for comfort, a beautiful location and pool.

  We spend a week in Florida each January with 2 of our adult children and 2 grandchildren from Fairbanks, AK and this year chose Captiva. The Sun and Moon house was absolutely perfect for the 6 of us. First and foremost for our group, the Sun and Moon house is extremely clean, bug free and comfortably furnished. The grandchildren and their parents had 2 very large bedrooms and adjoining baths on the second floor and we had a suite in the back of the first floor that could be closed off from the rest of the house. The privacy afforded by the floor plan works very well for extended families. We may have stayed in more luxurious villas in Florida but never in a home so well equipped and well cared for. We didn't even need to replace paper products during our stay! The kitchen is very well appointed with quality dishware and cooking equipment. It is obvious that Larry and Donna take great pride in the home and have put a lot of thought into providing for the comfort and convenience of their guests. Everything you need for the beach is provided and they have even reviewed local restaurants and have suggestions for shopping and activities in the area. From the home you are a short walk to the beach and many restaurants. Our favorite feature was the heated pool in the large screened pool area that the grandkids could use even when it was too cool for the beach. We loved the whole experience and will go back next year. Thanks, Larry and Donna! You can't go wrong with one of their properties or Captiva.

  We arrived at Sun & Moon after dark to find the beach house inviting with lights on and music playing. We felt welcome from the start. The house was immaculately clean, and cheerful. It was the perfect beach house. Everything we needed was there. It was so comfortable. We loved being able to walk everywhere and especially the convenience to the beach, restaurants, grocery store and shops. We had bikes to ride and everything we needed for the beach, including a wagon to get it there. Very handy. The beach was beautiful, and the sunsets were wonderful. We loved walking in the morning, taking millions of photographs, shelling in the sun, and taking the Captiva Cruise to Cabbage Key. Wonderful cruise line - we saw dolphins both going out and coming in. It was spectacular as they were right next to the boat. The owners, Donna and Larry, left us a book explaining any instructions we needed and helpful information about the area. Even the light switches and tv equipment was labeled so we knew what switch did what. We loved listening to the owls at night and the tropical breezes. The only thing we didn't like was having to leave.   We just got back from our family vacation in Captiva staying at the Sun and Moon House. We were very pleased with everything. Larry and Donna really pay attention to the details that make the vacation experience less work and more vacation!! From the bikes and buggy to haul stuff to the beach to the dishwasher liquid and toilet paper amply supplied, it is all there. The location is also fantastic, 50 yards from our favorite restaurant RC Otters!! I'd also like to add a quick shout out to the best waitress of the trip: Ninna aka "Ninja"...Great job!!

  This was one of the best vacations my family has taken the house was beautiful and bright. Had every amenity we could imagine. The walk to the beach was approx 3 min down a quiet shell and tree lined street. the beach was beautiful and not very crowded. This is a perfect place for a restful vacation.

  Our family has stayed at the Sun and Moon House many times and we have always enjoyed our holiday. The house is very well equipped and tastefully furnished. There are many personal touches such as the CD collection and beach equipment. This year the master bedroom had been refurbished which has added to the charm and comfort of the house. We particularly enjoy relaxing on the sun and moon deck and taking the short stroll to the beach. The house is very convenient for local shops and restaurants and the owners couldn't be more helpful.

  Captiva Sun & Moon House was a delight. The interior color scheme created a happy upbeat feeling and the welcoming music upon arrival instantly set the tone for a relaxing stay ahead.   Owner response: As the owners, we personally take charge of preparing our Captiva houses each Saturday for our incoming guests. We're the last to close the door prior to your arrival, so we know quality control is high. You'll find everything perfectly clean and organized, both inside and poolside, all beds perfectly made, beach chairs, umbrella and beach cart ready, extra propane for the gas grill, and the house lights and music on for your arrival.
