This open and airy contemporary is set back in the lush park like setting of a lovely neighborhood overlooking the Narragansett Bay. It is a private oasis that comfortably hosts an extended family within minutes of beaches and shopping. Although with all the amenities at the house, its often most fun to just stay home and play.
The front welcomes you with wide decks that are the favorite spot for coffee and soaking in the sunrise over the bay. Walking in the main entrance greets you with two story windows with views into the large private yard.
Turning into the fully equiped kitchen with cherry cabinets, top of the line appliances and expansive Italian granite counters. This is an open and bright kitchen that attracts sitters and makes the heart of this home a chic and inviting place where everyone will love to spend time.
An enormous rec room off the back of the house is where people will often congregate. Vaulted ceilings with walls of glass and an expansive stone fireplace. There is a full size pool table, 60 inch plasma tv, bluray dvd and Wii. A long table is perfect to keep a group puzzle going through the trip and a full sized refrigerator in the corner limits your walks to the kitchen.
Stepping out the great room sliders provides peeks into the large and private yard with an acre of meticulously landscaped grounds that border open space.
The large terrace runs the length of the back and steps into an outdoor living space with fireplace and fully equiped kitchen. Stepping off the terrace reveals the fabulous 14 foot deep swimming pool with diving board. There is a tournament quality ping pong table and another beautiful seating area. This great outside space includes a cabana with the conveniences of kitchenette and shower.
Inside and out, this fun and inviting home will comfortably host your family within ten minutes of Narragansett center and fifteen to Newport.
We test drive Horizon often to make the home a great experience for friends and family to share. We feel its an ideal venue to bring people together for a number of days. Whether your up for a competitive game of ping pong, an impromptu game of billiards or a chat on lounges around the pool, getting people back together is what Horizon is all about.
So come experience a glass of wine under a blanket of stars watching over lights on the Newport Bridge. This is a wonderfully fun place to spend a little close and quiet time with the ones you love.

First and foremost, Jody was incredibly responsive to any and all questions, and was an absolute pleasure to deal with! She really made the whole process easy and stress-free. The property is beautiful. It's located in a quiet neighborhood, with water views from the front yard, and an absolutely amazing set up in the backyard. We stayed at the property in April so the pool was closed, unfortunately, but that did not stop us from enjoying the space. The paver-stones are beautiful, the grill is top of the line, and there is a great wood burning fire place out there too! The back of the home features a "man-cave" with a pool table, ping pong table, fridge & big screen TV! There were 15 of us staying at the house and we had no problems with privacy and sleeping space. Narragansett, RI is such a great town/city for vacations. The only way to improve upon that is with the right rental property, and this home offers just that.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed at this beautiful property for a long weekend in March. It was absolutely beautiful--an ideal location for a large family to spend a week. The newly minted outside patio has a fantastic grill and fire pit for evening gatherings and the interior has a large "game" room which is equally accommodating for a group that wants to spend some quality time together. The proximity to Newport is an added benefit--it's less than a 15 minute drive over the bridge that you can walk to the end of the street and see from the house. Added to obvious benefits of the property itself, the owners were incredibly responsive to our questions and requests. I would recommend this property highly to anyone looking in the area!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We all enjoyed the beautiful home and all of its features such as the pool table, games etc. We had some trouble with heat and hot water but it was repaired as soon as possible. We had a family gathering of 13 people coming and going as the house was centrally located. It was wonderful that family could bring their canine family members also. The listing was accurate, photos were accurate, property was clean and well maintained, owners were very helpful in answering questions and coming to the house to make repairs. I would highly recommend this house for family gatherings to both friends and relatives. We love Georges seafood resturant in Galilee.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay. the house was perfect for our stay in Narragansett over the Thanksgiving week. It allowed us to host Thanksgiving dinner and there's was plenty to do - playing ping, pong, shooting pool, playing cards and enjoying the walks near the bay!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Unlike many VRBO properties this was exactly as advertised. Plenty of room for the family to spread out, a beautiful yard completely enclosed and a well appointed interior. We were very pleased with the selection of games, kitchen accessories and other items that make a house feel like a home. Owner was very responsive to us and the property met with everyone's approval. We will probably rent again and have already recommended to friends. Great biking in the area and central to various local hotspots. Great experience all around.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home in Narragansett. From the huge living spaces to the large kitchen, we thought the space was both enjoyable and functional. It was too cold for us to enjoy the pool area, but we spent lots of time in the large rec room and living room. I would highly recommend this rental, and we hope to return sometime very soon.Recommended for: Girls getaway.

This house got two thumbs up from everyone. The fact that it was pet friendly made it a no brainer, since it's hard to find houses that are. The pool and deck area is beautiful, the house is large and spacious, and everyone had fun playing ping pong and pool in the rec room. We would all definitely go back there again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.

We enjoyed the view, but couldn't walk to the beach. Couldn't sleep on mattresses on bunk beds (used air mattresses on floor). The kids liked that. Not enough bathrooms (there were 8 of us). We scheduled shower taking. It worked. We liked the house a lot. The pool was great. We all had a good time. We would come back again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for the review. None of our adults had ever slept on those hard mattresses. Thanks for flagging it for us; we ordered new mattresses. The beach is about a 10 minute walk from the house. If you stay again, ask for directions. It is a great beach.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2011
About the owner: We bought this house as a 3 generational family so we can enjoy a few weeks a year together.
Why the Owner Chose Narragansett:
We have vacationed in Narragansett for years and always viewed houses while here. When we walked through Horizon, everyone felt the extended family would be comfortable in the space. The rec room with pool table and 60' hi def tv, the large pool, multiple seating areas inside and out gives everyone places to share and still find a quiet place to read.
And we always stay amused in Narragansett. It has great beaches for the little kids, kitesurfing beaches for the older kids and sporty adults, and typical New England downtowns for shopping and hanging out. Horizon is 10 miles from Newport, an hour to Foxwoods and Mystic Seaport, slightly longer to Boston.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The backyard is truly an oasis. The kids will have a blast diving into the 14' deep pool. Lounge by the cabana, read with a view of the bay, or eat by the garden. This house has 3 decks and 2 yards - plenty of space to play together or in separate groups. in 2013, we will have an outdoor kitchen and living room.
