Returning from the UK for a second time

Guest: Ole Anna (Weybridge, Surrey UK)
Date of Stay: 08/22/09 Review Submitted: 09/13/09

We have just re-visited Buffalo Creek Guest Cottage for the second time and had another fantastic holiday there for 2 weeks. We enjoyed the cabin so much last year that we persuaded my parents to join us and they stayed in the owners other cabin, Bridge Cottage. They thoroughly enjoyed it too. Beau is the most amazing host - extremely accommodating, thoughtful and generous. We also had some really fun evenings, watching the sun set over the Smoky Mountains. You never tire of the views. This year we brought our mountain bikes with us so we went on several long rides on nearby trails. Lulu's Restaurant in Sylva was recommended to us this year and we had a really nice lunch. The catfish was delicious.

Going back

Guest: Lin (Greensburg, IN )
Date of Stay: 05/08/11 Review Submitted: 05/16/11

My review will be a little different. My husband and I arrived on Sunday May 8th (Mothers Day) and left the next morning due to receiving a tragic phone call. We were in the cottage approx. 15 hours including sleeping time before we hurridly packed up and left for home (Indiana). We never met Beau, but Beau has been wonderful. We received a lovely card from Beau. The cottage was everything we had hoped for (clean and lovely) and looked forward to spending the week there and discovering Bryson City. We hope to return to the cottage at a later date.

Owner response:In Romans 12:15 we read..."Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep." My heart went out to you on your long drive back to IN but we will "rejoice" together in due time. Beau

English couple from London recommend this EXCELLENT cottage

Guest: English Abroad (UK)
Date of Stay: 05/01/11 Review Submitted: 05/16/11

We had an fantastic week at Buffalo Creek Cottage. It was everything we wanted - very peaceful, ideal size for a couple, good facilities, GREAT views and we were not disturbed by anyone else. Beau is a great host who made us feel at home. The nearby picnic site has superb views of the mountains and is a great addition to the cottage. The cottage is ideally located to tour around the Great Smokeys. We look forward to returning soon.

Owner response:It is always so much fun to have guest from the UK stay with us. I'm always amazed that they find us with the thousands of available rentals out there! The British people have that wonderful accent that complements their properness. We enjoy your company...come back. Beau

Even Better the Second Time

Guest: Brad & Crickett (Ding Dong, TX)
Date of Stay: 10/09/10 Review Submitted: 10/19/10

This was our second visit to Buffalo Creek Guest Cottage. All it took was for family members from Dallas to recommend this place the first time. After the first visit we knew that we would return. The cabin gives you feeling of warmth, comfort, seclusion, and romance. The view from the deck is simply stunning and breathtaking. There is so much to do in the surrounding area...ride the train, hike the trails to the many waterfalls, white water rafting, trout fishing, or just enjoy the scenery and friendly people. This time we were able to see bull elk, black bear, and turkey at Great Smoky Mountain National Park when we went to Cade's Cove. Beau is the perfect host. He can recommend good places to eat and enough things to do that can keep you entertained. On the first evening he sat on our deck with us and we sipped wine and swapped stories. Another evening we sat on his porch, drank all of his wine, and talked about meeting in San Antonio in January. We are already planning on returning, but will be staying at one of his other rentals, Buffalo Creek Lodge, with two other couples. Yes, we highly recommend Buffalo Creek Guest Cottage.

Great place to stay

Guest: Jim & Tina (Malabar, FL)
Date of Stay: 10/13/10 Review Submitted: 10/19/10

A beautiful piece of property. Centrally located for alot of different day trips, this is a great place to stay. The cottage is perfect for a couple and has two other larger houses available for larger groups. It has a large living area, a kitchen with all the nesessary equipment to cook whatever you could want and a beautiful view from the balcony. There is a grocery store and plenty dining within a very short drive. The owner Beau, makes every effort you could want to make it an enjoyable stay. We'll certainly want to make plans to come back again. Jim & Tina Breeden Malabar, FL

Wonderful

Guest: time2relax (Statesville)
Date of Stay: 06/10/10 Review Submitted: 06/14/10

I spent a few days at the Cottage and loved everything about it. Beau made the space so comfortable and warm. It is beautiful and the view is amazing. There is so much to do in the area that 3 days really were not enough. It felt like home away from home and I was heart-broken that I could not stay any longer. I would absolutely recommend this rental to family and friends (but I hope there will be some space left for me- because I definitly would love to go back). Thank you Beau!

Location, location, location. My wife and I had a great week staying here. A lovely cabin at a great price, and central to some great day trips. There is a full-size grocery 1.5 miles from the cabin. An hour's drive from Fontana dam. 15 minutes from Cherokee, and 20 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. We also visited Cades Cove and Gatlinburg. Very roomy with lovely decore. Stay Here!

My husband and I stayed at Buffalo Creek Guest Cottage in October, 2008. Driving up the road leading to this most beautiful cabin, we knew that we were in for a special treat. We loved every minute....Beau is a wonderful host, the cabin was perfect, location couldn't be better as it is close to Bryson City, yet one feels a world away! We will most definitely return, soon!

We stayed at the Buffalo Creek Guest Cottage for 9 days and had the most amazing holiday. The cabin is situated in an idyllic location with fantastic views but only a short distance from Bryson City which has everything you need in terms of restaurants, cafes and supermarkets. We thoroughly enjoyed our hiking, mountain biking and white water rafting trips which are also really close by. The cabin itself is well equiped and is really comfortable and homely. Beau was a fantastic host and he certainly made our stay far more memorable. We will definately be re-visiting!
