  Stayed at this property for 8 nights and enjoyed every minute. The management company was helpful and thorough - even called our first day to make sure everything was ok. The location was perfect...right across the street from Kahalu'u Beach Park - perfect for snorkeling. The unit was nicely decorated and updated. I am a wimp in hot weather...central aC was awesome. Loved the lanai/outdoor living space with a great view of the beach and ocean. Everything you need was furnished; entertainment, beach equipment (toys, chairs, towels, etc), kitchen things, and supplies (I don't expect to have enough soap, tp, laundry supplies for over a week). We appreciated the infinity pool, spa, and used the grilled in the pool area. Came with my spouse and 2 adult children...great condo - would stay here again.

  Well appointed, comfortable for 4 adults and 2 children, close to beach and snorkeling, close to shopping and has a very nice pool.

  My husband and I stayed in this unit with our two teen-aged grandchildren for a week. We loved the lanai--it was a perfect place for our casual breakfasts and for watching the sunsets. The kids loved that there were movies and televisions in their rooms, and we appreciated the quiet time this provided for us. The condo was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay, including beach chairs, snorkel equipment, and towels for the beach.We enjoyed the location, especially the proximity to Kahaluu Beach where all of us enjoyed snorkeling and viewing the sea turtles. We also enjoyed music from the beach on weekend evenings while sitting on our own lanai.All-in-all, the condo was a perfect place for us, and we hope to return to it someday soon.

  We love Kahaluu Beach (and Magic Sands a mile down the road), and we love to stay at the Beach Villas because it's so convenient. Wake up early, coffee on the lanai, take a walk/run, swim in the ocean, then off to the pool/hot tub!!! Keauhou shopping center is one mile away (movies, drugstore, supermarket, etc). Downtown Kona is just a bit further. Staying in a hotel room just doesn't cut for a family, a condo is the way to go. Load the fridge up with all the amazing fruits/veggies from the farmers market in downtown Kona, get some fresh fish and eat like kings!! Beach Villas is so much nicer than all those other condos along alii Dr. that were built 40 years ago. We'll definitely stay here every time we go to the big Island.

  Our family had a wonderful stay. The condo is well furnished, spacious, andcomfortable. The Kahalu'u Beach Park is only a quick walk across the street,and the convenience of not having to load up the car and drive somewhereto swim or snorkel can't be beat. If you're a runner, you should know that ifyou head north on Ali'i Drive from the condo, you will have to run on theshoulder of the road and deal with parked cars, since there is no sidewalk. Ifyou head south, you'll have some gravel and paved shoulders but far lesstraffic, and soon you'll come to sidewalks and beautiful views. The kitchenwas fully equipped, much better than other condos we've stayed at. The lanai offers a lovely view of the beach.We would definitely stay here again.

  We spent a wonderful Christmas week at the Beach Villas at Kahaluu on the big island of Hawaii. Unfortunately two of our party were unable to make it due to air line cancelations. So that left plenty of space for the three of us. This condo is located right across from Kahaluu Beach and the green turtle sanctuary. A great snorkel site. The condo has everything you need from beach towels to a well stocked kitchen. The location is perfect for site seeing in any direction. It is perfect for a family. I would not hesitate to stay there again. It was great fun.

  This was our second Abbey rental experience in Kona and I can't wait for a third! This particular property was most convenient as we could walk across the street to some of the best snorkeling on the Island! We enjoyed the Beach Villas very much, beautifully decorated, comfortable & very clean. I would recommend renting from Abbey Vacation Rentals to anyone and I know we will again in the future!

  The five of us arrived very late at night after a long trip from Plymouth, MA, and as promised, the key to our condo was exactly where it was supposed to be, making the end of our long trip hassle free. The condo is lovely, and easily accommodated my husband, and our three children, two in their 20's and a teenager. The well appointed kitchen, two full baths, and 3 bedrooms gave everyone elbow room! The condo is very well furnished, including a large TV and comfortable furniture, is extremely clean, and is located across the street from a great snorkeling beach! The view from the lanai can't be beat! You won't be disappointed in this property - it even boasts a lovely infinity pool. The main shopping area is just a short drive away!

  Our 3 bedroom, 2 bath condo was perfect for 3 adult couples. What we liked best was the balcony which overlooked the pool and the Kahaluu Beach which has great snorkeling and gear can be rented right there. Grocery shopping was very convenient, located just up the road from the condo. We will definitely come back for another visit.

  We spent 10 days in this property. The first day was complicated by a faulty air conditioner, and made for a pretty warm night BUT repair personnel walked in as we arrived, and Abbey called the next day to make certain we were in the cool. Thereafter, everything was perfect- there's a view across the street to a very agreeable park and snorkeling beach we enjoyed nearly daily. The proximity to Kailua allows you to shop and dine, but it's distant enough to be quiet at night. We cooked plenty of meals there, my only complaint being the lack of a good knife- if that's all one can complain of, you know it's good. The beds are very comfortable, the breeze heavenly , and the decor pleasant and classy. We are trying to figure out how to get back! P.S. the concerns about the 2 flights of steps are overrated, in my opinion- we took my 80+ year old parents and they did just fine. We wanted to let you know that a new set of kitchen knives have been purchased for this unit, and we look forward to having you as our guests upon the next trip to the Big Island!

  Perfect set up for our family of 4 with 2 grandparents. The accomodations were well supplied and clean. We LOVED the lanai overlooking the ocean. The snorkling wasamazing at the state park. The pool and hot tub were perfect. We also thought it was a great location for our trip to volcano national park. We would rent with them again without hesitation.

  We were 3 couples who rented this property together. We were very happy with the condo. It was perfectly located across the street from Kahalu'u Beach. We snorkeled every day by just walking across the road. It was clean and comfortable with all that we needed to enjoy our stay located in the spare closet: extra beach towels, beach chairs, and while we didn't need them being seniors, shovels and buckets for the kids.We were attending a wedding at the Outrigger, so again, the location was perfect. We also enjoyed the music several evenings that locals played and sang at Kahalu'u Beach. We overlooked the beach and enjoyed the sunsets from the lanai.The kitchen was more than adequate for our needs and the beds comfortable. A grocery store was close, yet we were not in the congestion of Kona. The pool was well kept and private. We definitely would rent this unit again.

  The Penthouse 3 unit was very comfortable with plenty of room for the six of us. 2 Adults and 4 children 16 to 11. The decor was stylish, bathrooms were awesome, great kitchen and the balcony was great for breakfast overlooking Kahaluu beach. The location in South Kona was perfect for us to explore Kona and the south coast. Lots of green sea turtles at Kahaluu and good snorkeling. It was close to shopping for groceries, great surfing across the street with board rentals only a short walk away, White Sands beach was a short drive also. The pool and barbeque area was clean and hardly used. We enjoyed our week in the unit and have awesome memories of our vacation. It was great being on the top floor and the high ceilings made the unit seem even more spacious. I would highly recommend the unit and we would definitely stay there again.

  When looking for our vacation condo this time we wanted to find a spot where we could be close to the snorkling and boogie boarding locations. We found it at Kahaluu Beach. This was our first trip to the Big Island and the website at Abbey Vacation Rentals took all of the guess work out of making our decision. We rented the 3br penthouse unit and found more than enough room for our 3 teenage and up children, mother-in-law and my wife and I. We spent 11 glorious days snorkling at Kahaluu Beach, boogie boarding at White (Disappearing or Magic) Sands Beach, which is the best on the Kona Coast and only a mile down the road, and traveling to other beaches and resort areas. The condo itself was everthing it showed on the Abbey Vacation website. The bedrooms were spacious, the bathrooms huge with extra large showers, the living area was large enough for 6 people, and the lanai for the dining area gave a special feeling to our breakfast and dinner times. We had visited Maui twice previously and this was our first trip to the Big Island. I will definitely go back and stay at the Kahaluu Beach Villas. It really had everything we were looking for and more. Our stay was trouble free and the staff was fantastic. On our way to the airport when leaving, it was discovered that a "most treasured" stuffed friend was left behind. We contacted the rental office and they gladdly made arrangements for us to receive our friend by mail, which we did shortly after arriving home. Thank you Abbey Vacations for the holiday of a lifetime. (My mother-in-law still talks about it, not bad)

  We spent a week at this palacial and splendidly appointed condo with our 2 sons and their mates. There was ample room for 6 adults and the location was awesome. Easy access to Kona, scuba, snorkeling, restaurants, etc. We will be back.

  Everything about this rental was outstanding. Location was excellent, across the beach from a decent surf spot. Snorkeling was excellent. There is a another snorkel spot at the Place of Refuge 20 miles south of the condo. The size of the condo for 6 people was perfect and the amenities were great. No problems w/ parking, neighbors were pleasant, lanai was very nice w/ great view. I highly recommend this place and would stay there again.

  We had a great time at the Beach Villas at Kahaluu in Kailua Kona, HI. We rented for a week and had 6 people (4 adults and 2 children). It comfortably fit all of us. The outdoor deck/terrace was were we ate dinner and had a view of the ocean. Swimming on the beach was a 1 block walk. This beach, while you can suntan, is really built for snorkeling/swimming. The location was close to nearby grocery store, so you can buy whatever you want to cook that night. There is a communal grill on this property which we used one night (it's by the pool). There is also a pool and hot tub. Overall, we had a lovely time and highly recommend this place.

  this is a very nice condo, convenient to snorkeling, diving,&downtown Kailua-Kona. The unit we rented was very nicely furnished very clean and had everything necessary for an enjoyable stay including a balcony and use of the pool, hot tub and barbeque.

  Our family felt immediately at home in this condo. It was extremely comfortable, very clean and well maintained, with every conceivable convenience available for our use. The location is great, being close (but not too close) to town and also a stone's throw from a handy supermarket/shopping mall where we especially enjoyed the Sat. a.m. Farmers' Market, featuring all local produce and Hawaiian foods and live music. The beach across the street is perfect for snorkeling; turtles abound and we also enjoyed the hotel bar with tide pools right below. But the best place to eat (and view sunsets) was on our own lanai, with drinks and food made in our own state-of-the-art gourmet kitchen. It was truly a condo in paradise!

  We stayed here for a week in Feb. '08 and liked it so much that we are returning in Mar. '09!This condo has everything you need and more.All the arrangements and check in details were handled promptly and efficiently by Abby Vacation Rentals.The condo is located accross the road from an excellent snorkel beach. This island does not have many sandy beaches, so the location can't be beat. There is also a supermarket a short drive away, which is convenient.The furnishings and decor are very nice. There were thick beach towels, spices, a well equipped kitchen, laundry soap, playing cards... all the small items you need to have a great time were there for your use.Overall, it's a great value.
