An absolutely beautiful house with plenty of room. For a family outing, this was near perfect. The house easily accommodated 8 adults and one toddler. The three story house features two spacious master bedrooms on the top floor, along with an additional 3rd bedroom on the ground floor. One thing to keep in mind is that the ground floor bedroom opens up to the main all and living area via double glass doors, so it is obviously not the most private of the bedrooms. The kitchen features all the modern amenities you could hope for along with two large dining areas. This is all in addition to decks on all three floors. The basement is almost an apartment all unto itself, featuring a basic bedroom, full bath, large living area and kitchen. The basement deck also opens up to a hit tub, though we did not use it. All in all, a wonderful secluded vacation home. The owners were friendly and responded quickly to any and all questions. A few things to consider: -Pates Ford Marina is .3 miles away. An easy walk there, but a straight uphill climb back up. -Marina features a decent bar/restaurant, but it is only open 3 days a week. Pretty good food, fair prices, live music on weekend. -Don't count on the marina "store" for much as far as supplies. Not a whole lot there other than friendly folks. -Closest supermarket is a roughly 20 minute drive, with a Walmart a little further down the road. -River Watch Golf Course is approximately 30 minutes away. Well kept course, and worth a round. -the house is not "on the water", it's a nice little hike through the woods to get there. Fun if you're fit, rather unbearable at 95 degrees! Great place to relax and spend time with the family. Would highly recommend.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers.

If you want to get away from the 'rat race', this quiet secluded home is for you. We slept seven adults and five 10-14 year olds and had all the gathering room plus quiet decks, porches, and nooks that one could ever want. It is less than a mile to the Pate's Ford Marina and restaurant but the 105 degree temps made it a little harsh for a family walk even though I did take early morning walks. We rented a very new 30' pontoon from the marina and spent eight hours on Center Hill Lake and had a great time. Center Hill Lake is a true deep water lake, i.e. no shallow beaches near the bank to amount to, particularly since the water levels were down. The best part about the home in the scorching heat is that the air conditioning system was sized to defeat the heat, it kept us all very cool after being in the sun all day and cooled us perfectly for the upstairs bedrooms allowing a restful sleep. This is a very large well organized house for multiple families and being on three levels you will have some stairs to climb. My son and I did walk to the lake from the back of the house and it is a 'hike' and IMO not recommended for those who are not adventurous and decent physical shape. Since Center Hill Lake is a Corps of Engineers managed waterway, one cannot build on the Corp’s property to make the hike to the water easier and that heavily hard-wood area almost completely obscures a view of the lake when the leaves are on. It must be beautiful in the late fall to very early spring. Watch out for the deer if you drive in the early mornings and late evenings. We arrived on 6/29/2012 and left on 7/02/2012 for a reference point. The secluded nature of the home had only one drawback, you had to travel 15 miles to the Wal-Mart in Smithville but that 30 minute drive came in handy for all the little things you forget to pack. Cell phone coverage was hit/miss and had to use the Wi-Fi for calling.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

About the owner: My husband and I enjoy having a place for people to come and fine peace and tranquility this is house was built with that in mind , you won't fine a more relaxing place in this area. It is spacious and great fun to stay at. We have taken time to make it a beautiful place We have furnished it with things that are appealing and nice to see , The decor is lovely and has great colors it aamazing home
