A very beautiful home in a great location! My husband and I along with 4 teens (ages 15-17) really enjoyed the home and property. The house was clean, beautifully landscaped, very comfortable and spacious. Don't expect high-end amenitites, as the plates were mostly plastic (fortunately had some nice wine glasses), but the beds were comfortable and linnens acceptable. We also felt very safe in this location. It's a five minute walk to the beach, which is also the only marina in Rincon, so many other activities are close (Katarina sailing, parasailing, snorkeling, Shipwreck Restaurant and horseback riding on the beach). The swimming is ok there, and the beach was deserted. Found some cool shells and sea glass. Unfortunately the parasailing boat had been shipped away for the low season the week before we got there. The local restaurants are fabulous - we ate at Pool bar sushi, Parrot Inn/Rum Shack, Shipwreck - and all were very good and quite fun. The house is not easy to find the first time, particularly at night. Our rental car and phone GPSs didn't get us there, but with some help from the local police (who don't speak english), we were able to find the road but not the house. When the property managers didn't answer, we called the owners, and John picked up immediately and was very helpful and kind. I would recommend getting good directions to the house before driving there. All in all a wonderful stay. When we weren't out exploring, we all spent our time not only around the beautiful pool, but also on the 2nd (main) floor balcony - great views of the pool, of a nicely landscaped neighborhood and a peek at the ocean. The roof top space is also great for early morning sunrises or late night star viewing. In PR, it's all about being outside, and this house provides a beautiful place to do that when you're not out exploring. This house was a high point for all of us on this great vacation. Highly recommended.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My family and I spent four days at Casa Ensenada. My fiance and I traveled from Washington DC and the rest of the crew from Minnesota. We were celebrating my Dads 60th birthday so I was a little hesitant about booking something like this for the first time. I must say though, with all sincerity, that this vacation is one we will never forget. The house, was over the top clean and perfect for our group of eight people. We could have fit at least another 2-3 if we had chosen to. All the amenities where there. We went out to enjoy the local cuisine and cooked at home. We never felt that we were missing anything. We used the pool everyday and there was beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, etc. We ere about a 5 minute walk to the beach, which was the best one to swim at and hang with the locals. It was a beautiful property. Hands down, would visit again. Thank you so much for helping create memories for me and mi familia! All the best- Maria SteelmanDid you find this review helpful? We all loved Casa Ensenada in Rincon! It's a great place to relax and to spend quality time with friends and family. I rented the place to celebrate my 27th birthday and I felt like I was on my own vacation home; it's completely equipped. Pool was my favorite part of the house, from morning 'til dawn, we didn't miss the beach at all, and I'm from Puerto Rico and as a local I love the beach. I've been in many vacation houses in the Island, Vieques and Culebra and I have to say that Casa Ensenada is my favorite one. Can't wait to go back! Gracias John! We stayed at this house for four nights and had a very good time. The house photos accurately reflect the furnishings and what is available for guests. We enjoyed the pool and the porches, especially in the evenings. Make sure you get an accurate map when driving from San Juan...tough to find the first time! Air-conditioning, water heaters, everything worked just great. The only improvement we could think of is the house could be cleaned a bit more thoroughly. Crumbs were found in the couch cushions and the shower drains were not cleaned upon arrival. All in all, a good home. John was very helpful and responsive. ThanksRecommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Our stay in Rincon, Puerto Rico was wonderful. There are many neat attractions in Rincon. Wonderful snorkeling and beaches and the light house was beautiful, too. We took a pottery class at Rincon Pottery and it was fun and therapeutic for my 4 children and my husband & myself. We also travelled an hour or so north & south to see some other attractions. Old San Juan is about 2 hrs away and also zip lining adventures, so spending a few days on the NE side of puerto rico is also a good idea. All of the people in puerto rico were polite and welcoming. If you don't speak much Spanish, most people at least speak some English or there are also many fluent Enlish speaking people in most places that we went. We loved shopping at the Econo grocery store right in Rincon. There are some great restaurants in Rincon as well. Our stay at Colinas Ensenada (our rental house) was wonderful. The pool was warm & clean. The house was very nice. There were lots of noisy birds that sang even during the night, so if you are a light sleeper, ear plugs might be helpful. We found Rincon & Puerto Rico very safe and had no problems with theft or security. The house is surrounded by tall walls and has a locking gate at the driveway entrance, so this also added a sense of security - although we didn't ever feel unsafe. We went to a beautiful lighthouse with cliff/ocean views in Cabo Rojo to the south. We also went to Arecibo to visit the radiotelesope/observatory which was a little scientific/techie, but it was also amazing & interesting - especially to view the telescope on the observation deck. There is also a cool cave that you can enter & walk thru to the end which is open on the side of a cliff with breathtaking views near Arecibo (called cuervo ventana i think). We also stayed about 1 day in San Juan to visit the old forts in Old San Juan which was amazing. Another day in San Juan area would have been nice to be able to take advantage of some zip lining opportunities. We had never snorkeled before & the locals at Steps Beach in Rincon (part of tres palmas marine reserve) were so helpful & also had snorkel gear for rent. Loved the house. Loved Puerto Rico. Hope to vacation there again! We have 4 children ages 7-14 & they had a blast.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 6/6

I returned to this great home vacation after being there on July with a group of friends but this time I went with my family. They loved the house and love even more the private pool. This is the perfect place to get away from stress. The house was very clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, again the downstairs air conditioner and television did not functioned. But everything else was great and the sunny weekend was the perfect getaway for my sister who came from San Francisco to enjoy a family weekend at this beautiful rental home. The owner always answered my emails rapidly and was very nice. We just had a hurricane pass our Island last week and the home was in perfect condition in the weekend when we got there so the company that gives maintainance does a very great job. Hope to be back again soon.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for the review. We had the maintenance company check to find out what was happening with the air-conditioners and it turned out to be a breaker switch which had the wrong amps on it. We have fixed it and please always let us know if something is not properly working. We have also installed new LCD Flat Screen TV's upstairs and downstairs and switched from the local cable company to Direct TV to avoid any further interruptions with service.

Changes were made due to this double booking. A new system implemented for short time did not worked as expected with two points of reservations. One failed to communicate to the other point of reservation, causing an unacceptable review. From now-on all reservations will be directly with the owner and outsource department has been terminated. As mentioned by the prospects, DCrenters, I tried everything to find them a place to stay, but I was not successful and returned they full rent on the spot, immediately per there requested without any delay. I am very sorry this had caused the DCrenters the inconvenience of time wasted during their vacation looking for another place to stay. This was the first time since the house was build and I ensure any one this will never happen again. Sincere, J.Velez-Owner.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

My boyfriend, his brother, sister-in-law and myself recently rented this villa. We had a great time here. The house was clean, open and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the salt water pool. The house is within walking distance to the Shipwreck Bar and Grill, which has the best food and dessert. The house was well equipped with dishes, appliances, and electronics like an iHome stereo which made our stay even more enjoyable. The house is located within walking distance of a few other restaurants, some water sports companies and the beach! I would definitely recommend this villa to anyone. John is so nice and he makes sure that you are very comfortable. He is prpompt in responding to questions. He really goes the extra mile and we were very impressed by him and the property! Mr. Velez double-booked this property after we had paid in full well in advance, and he did not inform us that someone else was already in the home until after 2 p.m. the day we were supposed to check in. The substitute properties he offered were not comparable (including one where substantial, noisy, early-morning construction was going on next door) . He was perfectly nice and apologetic, but the scramble to find a new place to stay from a different property owner and to ensure that Velez would return our money promptly cost most of a day of a short trip.Did you find this review helpful? The house is amazing. Large enough for 2 families; but also secluded enough for a couple looking for a romantic getaway. Walking distance to the beach with ocean view on every floor of the home; including the pool deck. The property is completed surrounded by by an 8 foot wall with a privacy gate at the entrance. Perfectly landscaped with palm trees around the pool and other tropical plants. The pool is so relaxing. It's warm 24 hours a day so anytime is perfect for a swim. We liked to take a morning swim in the pool, then head to Steps Beach for some amazing snorkeling in the afternoon, and then take a night swim in the pool again! Steps beach is a world famous surfing beach and when the waves are small its world famous for its snorkeling. Steps is just a couple minutes from the house. Huge balconies, pool toys, boogie boards for the beach, privacy, and an i-home to play music with your ipod. We couldn't decide if we wanted to go the beach or just relax in the pool all day! We can't wait to go back. I would definitely recommend this home for anyone going to Rincon, Puerto Rico! Great Job on the house!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I stayed in this beatiful home during this past summer and I tell you it was the best vacation home I have ever stayed in. The kids loved the pool and the accomadation was tremendous. Plenty of room and some. I had the in-laws with us and there was still room for more family member. I would recommend this house to anyone that would love to enjoy the scenes of Puerto Rico and some. The weather was great and just having everything there in the house made it even better. All we had to bring was the food and plenty of energy. We are planning to rent the house once again next summer except this time we are planning on satying two weeks instead of one. This is a great deal of a rental to stay in and I would recommend this house to anyone that is looking in seeing Puerto Rico and doing some serious beach going and having some Pina Colada by the pool.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Good location - can walk to restaurants/bars, beaches are 10 min drive. We (a group of four 40 to 50 something adults) stayed at Casa Ensenada in Rincon for 6 days in February 2010. The weather was magnificent (in the mid 80's) with cooling breezes and little to no humidity. This apparently is the norm in this area. The home itself is very private and the community surrounding it is quiet and safe. Rincon is a friendly welcoming town and local residents are friendly and hospitable. We were not sure what to expect of Puerto Rico as a vacation place, but wanted to extend our cruise vacation by a week and decided to find a place in Puerto Rico that wasn't over-crowded and that had access to beaches and other sight-seeing opportunities. We were very pleasantly surprised with our choice. Rincon and this particualr house made our stay very pleasant and we would return again. Rincon is a small community and is well located for exploring the west coast of Puerto Rico. The house's grounds are well manicured and the large private pool was a great place to relax and cool down. The home itself is new and spacious with comfortable beds, modern kitchen appliances and other amenities. It is very pleasing to the eye. The owner - John - was a pleasure to deal with and was very responsive to our every question and concern both while we enquired about the rental and while we were at the property. The house's free wireless internet service allowed us to stay in touch back home and to communicate easily with the owner about a few minor questions which he replied to very promptly. Grocery shopping was located within a close 5 minute drive and the beach was a five minute walk. The surf can be rough on some days so this home's pool provides a great alternative for sunning and swimming without having to venture to the beach. In fact, we spent most of our time at the house and ventured out only to do some sight-seeing in Cabo Rojo at Salinas Beach's (an amazing beach) and its lighthouse and to Crash Boat Beach. If you're wanting the highest end in luxury duvets, high-end art work and flat screen TV's than this is not your place, but if you want comfort, simple elegance, cleanliness and spaciousness in a lovely neighbourhood setting overlooking the ocean, than Casa Ensenada will meet and exceed your desires. We hope to return.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This is our second visit to this beautiful home and island. It truly is a special place. The owners have supplied this home with everything you will need. All you have to do is stop by the local Econo grocery store and stock up on groceries. The house and landscaping are very well maintained. We really enjoyed all the bright colors of the plants. The outside shower is a great addition. We never even used the inside shower. It was a real experience taking a shower and looking up at the moon and stars. We did a bit more travelling this time. We took an hours drive to Cabo Rojo Lighthouse. We visited the Salt Flats with interpretative exhibitions on the way. Don't let the dirt road or the pot holes discourage you...just dodge the holes...what is at the end is well worth the drive. Not only was the lighthouse something to see (they do have tours thru the lighhouse on certain days), but the beach we found below was beautiful. White sand and colors of blue you won't forget. We went back twice during our stay. Make sure you go to the end of the dirt road to be able to see the beach. Watch for the conch stand on the left hand side on the way back. Beautiful conches and very inexpensive. We enjoyed several sunsets at the Hotel Villa Confresi. Their bar and outside seating were just perfect for watching the sun drop into the ocean. Food was good and the coconut drinks very special. We found The English Rose for breakfast/brunch a place not to be missed. The food was outstanding. The road is a bit narrow, but worth the drive. Don't forget Happy Burger for a burger you won't forget. We had fun watching the surfers on the patio of Tamboo. Don't miss the lighthouse in Rincon. It has been revamped and is beautiful. It is another place to see beautiful sunsets. Playa Oeste is an art gallery and gift shop within walking distance of the house...just right around the corner. They have a wide variety of first class items to purchase. The Farmer's Market in the square is held the first and third Sunday of the month and interesting to see the local produce and goods. There is so much to do in and around Rincon. Fishing, para sailing, surfing, shopping, eating, or just relaxing by the pool or going to the beach. This home and island have so much to offer. There is something for everyone...young or old. It is the most relaxing vacation we have ever taken. We hope that you enjoy your stay as much as we have.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

So much more relaxed than a hotel. The pool was just the right size and we recommend the roof for completely private tanning. We walked to the beach, walked to parasailing, walked to horseback riding... what a great location! Pintos R Us are friendly folks and the guys at Flying Fish Parasailing are hilarious. The home was clean, well maintained with plenty of room we had 6 in our group. The pool is great to have the kids had lots of fun. The beaches are awesome you can surf or just relax there are plenty of beautiful beaches. Cabo Rojo had some nice and white sandy beaches Boqueron, Combate, and Playuela is a nice cove by the light house this one is a must see beach. We ate local foods El Cerdito had great smoked pork and they also carry fresh fish, lobster and shrimp. We bought 2 lobsters 3 to 4lbs each and cook them on the grill. Good restaurant before you get to Ricon there is an observation tower on RT 115 on the left El Coche has good food and service also next to it there is another small bar grill and they have the best shrimp or lobster empanadillas (turnovers) they also have a deck with a view of the beach front where you can enjoy some local rice and beans with tostones (fried plantain) and empanadillas. La Parquera has the Bioluminescent bay its 6 or 7$ for the boat ride but you get to swim and you glow in the dark. Night trip only the boat usually leaves at 6-7pm at sundown. Went to Old San Juan to El Morro the Spanish fort scenery is beautiful but allot of traffic to get there. The rain forest was awesome if you like nature we went to El Yunke the view from the top of the hill is breath taking. Went swimming on one of the river falls the water was nice and cold. Overall the house was great plenty of room and the owner was a great host. I would recommend his house and the area to all my friends, family and anyone that wants to listen and have a good time. The whole west side of the island is less congested than San Juan. I hate traffic San Juan area is not for me. Good luck finding your dream spot!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

"We made our first visit to Puerto Rico, my wife and I landed in San Juan late on Wed eve, spent a half day in San Juan exploring old town and then drove to the laid back town of Rincon on the west coast side of the Island. If you like lots of traffic, crowds and touristy things, stay in San Juan. If you wish to rent a beautiful home with a pool, near beaches, coffee shops and nice restaurants, then this would be a great place for your vacation. The owner was wonderful to deal with and the folks he has caring for his place are 1st class. While we were there we experienced wonderful snorkeling as the sea was as calm as glass, to a major wave condition where the best surfers in the world flew into the island to take advantage of 30 foot swells. Only one of our four kids was able to join us later in the week and it was very convenient to pick him up at the Aguadilla Airport. There is a folksy local map of Rincon that can be ordered online and we found it was very helpful to get your bearings. Very easy to get around once you get the lay of the land, but dark twisty roads if you are new the the area. GPS was useless as roads were so twisting, the little voice was constantly stating she was trying to recalculate our position. The house was extremely comfortable, very safe, no bugs during our stay. There were some barking dogs from a neighbors house but not enough that I would not hesitate to return. Next time, less San Juan and more Rincon. We could not have had a better first vacation to Puerto Rico and I thanked the owner for allowing us to stay at his home. I told him I would be happy to be a referral and I am sure he would provide my e mail address or phone number. Iowa City, Iowa"Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We brought our daughter, son in law and 4 yr old grand daughter with us on this vacation and found this home to be perfect! It offered privacy as well as togetherness. The accomodations are as described, neat, and well maintained (the 4 yr old was anxious about the strange man working in the garden!), and the pool is beautiful. We were more than comfortable here! The owner was very helpful and attentive to our needs, making our stay non-stressful. The internet access was a plus! The home was clean and quiet , except for the carribean alarm clocks (roosters) and a few dogs that were lonely and couldn't tell time (but we travel with earlpugs so No Problem!). We felt safe in the neighborhood and the house is close to both the surfing beaches as well as the calm beaches for children, each within walking/short driving distance. We found nice restaurants that were both casual and gourmet, all very good. (Happy Burger, Lazy Parrot/Smiling Joes, Tamboo, The Spot, Calypso, the donuts from the stand by the Econo are a must, the English Rose and more. There is a dinner delivery service that came highly recommended but we didn't order ahead of time so we missed out) My daughter and son-in-law went horse back riding with Pintos r us and loved it ( a sunset ride). Snorkeling at Steps Beach was fantastic, though hard to catch it calm. We visited the Zoo in Mayaguez, small but the 4 yr old was enthralled. Ricon in general was a comfortable place to visit, the weather perfect, and we would not hestitate to return, since there's lot's more to explore! It takes about 2 1/2 hrs to get there from the airport in San Juan, and is easy to find. 413 is indeed the Road to Happiness! We would love a chance to return to Casa Ensenada!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We had an amazing vacation- the house was perfect. There were 2 families in our party (four adults and four children) and each family took one floor. Our hardest decision was where whould we eat: your patio or ours. Having a pool with children is a HUGE plus. They must have spent hours in there every day. We loved cruising around to the different beaches in the area, coming home and cooking up some dinner. We had everything we needed. We loved having access to the internet and the ipod ready stereo. Nice touches!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

E' un posto che consigliamo a tutte le famiglieRecommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What a beautiful home. This was the most relaxing vacation we have ever had. The biggest decision was "Do we go to the beach, or sit by the pool?" We usually did both. The home was fully equipped with everything we needed. Just needed to make a stop at the local store for groceries. Weather was ideal, sunsets were beautiful. Make sure to go for a "Happy Burger"....just down the road a bit. We did take a side trip to Ponce...a couple of hours away. Beautiful countryside. We will come again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had such a blast! There was more than enough room for the 6 of us. We spent the days playing on the beach and the evenings hanging out on the patio. Very peaceful. Great location to great beaches. We definitely will be back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/5
