Hi, My name is Darby Gardner. I bought this house while I was working and studying for my MBA at Fordham University and used it as my get away from the city. As luck would have it, a job opportunity took me back to my home town of Santa Monica and I sold the house to my parents who are born and raised Long Islanders who wanted to have a reason to get back to Long Island where all their childhood friends still live. My family uses this house once a year in August and September but rent it when we are not there. This house is a very special place for me and my family and we have many memories watching our kids fish on the dock, learn how to swim in the lake, BBQ's on the porch, bikeriding into the Village of Southampton, picking up Antiques for the house at estate sales, Beach days at Coopers and Flying Point Beach. Why the Owner Chose Southampton
I bought this charming beach/lake cottage because I am a native Californian who was working and studying in NYC and craved a get away to the beach during the Summer months. I particularly loved Southampton because it is more traditional and less hectic than the other towns in the Hamptons and also the easiest commute from the city. This was the first house that I saw on my first buying trip to the Hamptons and fell in love because it is located at the end of a private cul de sac on a fresh water pond where I watch the sun set, kayak and swim. Although, I loved the quite and peaceful location of my house, I also wanted to be able to go into town for shopping, dining and movies which is only a 5 minute drive or 15 minute bike ride to the Village of Southampton. Also 5 minutes to both Coopers Beach and Flying Point Beach.

my family stayed here last summer and we still talk about what a wonderful time we had. The home is so cheerful and clean. We just loved the short walk down to the dock where you can launch the kayaks and take a peaceful ride on the lake or just sit back and enjoy the quiet and beautiful sunsets. The house is walking distance to the small town where you can shop, but feels so far away from the main stream. All in all, we had a great time!
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

This house is absoulutely CHARMING. Stayed here about 2 summers back and had an amazing time with friends. The house is quaint and beautiful, would stay again in a heartbeat!
