My husband and I are scientists and live half the year in Düsseldorf, Germany and half in San Diego. We recently fell in love with this beautiful city! As luck would have it -- we discovered this wonderful canyon home and completed a fresh updating of its interior just this year.
While away in Germany -- we are offering our special house to visiting couples or small families looking for a charming vacation home in Uptown San Diego.
Our close friend Kent will be managing the property in our absence. While we know we will miss it -- we are confident that visiting guests will enjoy this home as much as we do.
Keywords: This freshly remodeled Chalet-Style Home has high vaulted ceilings and an open Floor Plan. Tall sliding glass doors open to a charming walk-out Terrace and the tree filled Canyon below ... a serene and private setting for afternoon lounging and dining under the stars.

My husband and I were coming to San Diego to visit my brother, who also lives in Mission Hills. Usually we stay in La Jolla but decided to try a closer location. There were not many choices but Eagle Street caught our eye. We couldn't have been more pleased ! The house is just as described - on a quiet cul de sac yet near a bustling street with good restaurants, coffee shops, the flag ship grocery store, Von's. It is also near easy access to the airport, Balboa Park, routes to downtown. The house itself is lovely, light and airy and immaculately clean. It has two comfortable bedrooms, two stylish bathrooms, a full and gorgeous kitchen, living and dining area and a sweet deck where we ate our breakfast every morning, overlooking the arroyo. I think one of the aspects about Eagle Street that made it different from any of the many other VRBO places we have stayed was that it was clear that its owners lived there some part of the year - that is, it was FULLY appointed, not just for rental purposes. It was supremely comfortable, almost luxurious, yet homey. Kent, who manages the property when the owners are in their native country, couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. More and more, we have come to feel that the personal interactions we have in setting up the reservation set the tone for the visit itself and add a special magic to the experience. We can't recommend this property more highly and we will certainly hope it is available when next we visit San Diego.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children, people with disabilities.

I loved this beautiful home where I stayed as part of my 3 month road trip in southern California and Central America. It was a true haven in a perfect location for walking to markets, interesting shops, grocery shops and specialist food outlets as well as cafes and restaurants. I also loved being close to the independent Landmark cinema which showed some great films during my stay. I used the excellent San Diego public transport network every day and Hillcrest is perfectly located for travelling to all parts of the city, including downtown and the Bay, Balboa Park, Old Town, the beaches, Santa Fe Depot etc. Eagle Street is a lovely, quiet cul-de-sac where we enjoyed using the beautiful, spacious deck. Everything was as described, though it was so clean, tidy and comfortable with everything that you need provided, that I was reluctant to leave and face housekeeping duties at home. Kent was really helpful, made sure we were comfortable and made arrival and departure very quick and simple. Arriving back to grey skies, drizzle and freezing temperatures in the UK I am already planning my return trip to those blue skies of San Diego.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing.

This beautiful home definitely exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed every second at the property. Super clean & VERY comfortable. Especially loved the location, it was wonderfully quiet & calm. A little secluded, yet still accessible to tons of shops & restaurants in Mission Hills area. Kent was great! He automatically made us feel right at home. We appreciated that he kept in touch during the stay & made sure our questions were answered. We highly recommend staying here. Definitely coming back!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

My wife and I have just returned from our last visit to San Diego..and this one was both fantastic and special. And we have been out to visit many times before. Not only did we finally meet our new Granddaughter...we found a location so wonderful that we would happily stay there again...and plan to. The house is fantastic - the amenities are great - and I don't see how anyone could possibly be disappointed with this terrific property. It has absolutely everything one could want in a rental property - it was delightful. Everything available was top of the line....and there was nothing missing. And, Kent is very nice and easy to work with. We've been to San Diego many times - and really look forward to staying here again the next time we go. It was, indeed, ideal for us....it had everything we needed. Highly recommend the property.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We are a couple of snow birds escaping the rains of the Pacific Northwest. How lucky we are to have chosen this home as that is exactly what it is.. a home. We feel as if we are being allowed to share in someone's dream of the good life in San Diego. The accroutments are first class in every area. The furniture is all so comfy and the kitchen is a cooks dream. The bedrooms are seperated by the entry way with their private bathrooms which is perfect for two couples. We enjoy sitting on the deck with a glass of wine or having a barbeque with friends. We watch "our" squirrel run up the tree and enjoy the quiet. Eagle Street is centrally located and is minutes to most of what San Diego has to offer. There is a major supermarket and small restaurants and shops in walking distance. We recommend Oliveto's three blocks away for a delicious lunch. Hillcrest is a mile away where there is a plethora of restaurants and shops including a Trader Joe's. The San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park are very near and the beach is only a few minutes away. Having rented several other accommodations in Europe and the Northwest this is hands down the very best that we have ever encountered. Kent does a masterful job of responding to all questions and concerns. We can't ask for much more as it is perfect for us and will be for you as well.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing.
