My husband and I moved to Winnsboro to trade the pressures of urban life for a little slower pace without sacrificing the urban amenities. Winnsboro is so charming, lots of small town living, family friendly, progressive, and forward moving. And yet it has great restaurants, fantastic shopping, music and art venues, a spa for pampering, and loads of outdoor activities in the area, especially fishing in one of 7 area lakes. We are active in the Main Street program, improving the local amenities for all the residents. We have owned and operated Burton Star Properties for many years and have built many commercial properties, from apartments to shopping centers to restaurants, across the country. That same attention to detail and professionalism is evident in The Leaves of Winnsboro.

We knew Winnsboro had a need for quality lodging, so we built the Leaves in order to have a quality, gated apartment community available for the residents. Winnsboro has been voted "Best Little Art Town in East Texas" because it has so many artistic venues, shops, and restaurants. There's even a great coffee shop that serves coffee drinks and sandwiches, and is a mini-art gallery.
