Beautiful Oceanfront Condo - Two Pools - $110 a Night!!

  This unit could be a very nice little rental if some updates were made and needed items were provided. The couch in the living area was very uncomfortable and actually felt broken. Both beds in the bedrooms were very uncomfortable too. They all creaked and were very lumpy. The pillows were all very flat too. The kitchen was not supplied with any dish liquid, dishwasher detergent, trash liners, paper towels, and there was only 1 knife and 1 dish towel. Also, there were broken chairs on the patio. There is also quite a bit of road noise from all the busy traffic on the Sea Wall. The pools and hot tub were not cleaned either. My friends and I purchased all items that were not provided as well as extra kitchen towels and rags, 3 beach chairs, an umbrella and batteries for the remotes. They were missing some as well. We felt for a vacation rental, more should have been provided and that the unit should be made more comfortable for guests.

  The place has received reviews as being dirty but my feeling is it was just really run down and in serious need of some TLC. New mattresses wouldn't hurt. And the futon (only seat it the living space) had no support left. Don't expect even coffeefyers...salt and pepper were all besides the mismatched dishes. But it served our basic purpose of a one night stay for a triathlon. I won't return though.

  Had just the right amount of space for our needs. Great view from the balcony. Nice sitting out there and watching and listening to the ocean. Kids saw dolphins first morning there. Close to restaurants and grocery store. Only issue we had was when they were pressure washing second morning we were there we had a small flood come under the door. Other than that we found the accommodations just what we needed for our short get away in Galveston.

  It was very nice and had everything you need. The only thing they didn't have was a iron. But I really enjoyed it and will be staying with you all again. It was so roomy!!

  We stayed in this condo for the 1st weekend of Mardi Gras 2013, This is the 3rd time we have rented this condo in the past 2 years. We have always had a great stay here, Absolutely Gorgeous ocean View from the living area, kitchen & one of the queen bedrooms The beautiful dark wood queen sleigh beds are very comfortable. The 2 bunkbeds are great to have for the kids or singles are comfortable as well, far enough away from the crowds that it was very quiet & peaceful. Yet close enough to some of the restraunts & walmart within a 3-4 min trip by car or approx 10 min walk. But with the ocean right there who minds a nice short walk. The full kitchen was so nice to have it saved us lots of time/money on meals by being able to cook full meals or just have cereal or waffles sausage, juice & coffee for breakfast.Again while enjoying the view. The only thing we could possibly find remotely wrong was the fold out futon couch could have been more comfortable But then again what futon is that comfortable. Overall We had a Awesome Time :) We will be Back for Sure :)

  We had a wonderful time and the place was perfect for our needs. Slept 8 clean the living room was small but who was there for that!! Overall great place will call and stay again!

  My family and I were disappointed in this unit primarily because it simply was not clean. It could be a very nice unit as the views were spectacular, but the condition of the unit was unacceptable. The description stated it was completely remodeled, but it clearly wasn’t (only had a new granite counter top in the kitchen). The chairs both inside and on the balcony were broken and dangerous. Paint was peeling from the walls in large pieces, floors simply had not been mopped (our feet were black on the bottoms from walking inside) and the A/C vent cover was completely covered in black dust and lent. While there were lamps in the bedrooms, they didn’t have bulbs. The dishwasher didn’t work. We’ve stayed at Maravilla before and enjoy the property grounds. There are much better units on the property. The pools are great and security is attentive.

  In a nutshell: Decent place. Going to the beach requires a car (or a LONG walk). Great pool. Pictures make it look a lot nicer than it really is. Although it had sleeping space for 6 people, we were a little cramped for space in the common room - had to bring in plastic chairs from the porch. The TV, wifi, cable, and dvd all worked great. The air conditioning worked fine but was loud (good cover for the squeaky beds) and all the vents were filthy. The pleather couch was cheap and saggy. It lays flat into a futon - very uncomfortable in both forms, and had scratched the thick paint off the wall behind. OK for kids but not great for grownups. The bunk beds were nice, and the two bedrooms were good sized. Both queen beds were VERY uncomfortable, saggy and squeaky. That said, all the sheets and bedding were clean and nice. One bedroom had a a gulf view onto the balcony, the other was a cave with one window next to the front door with a cool view down the runway of the (tiny) Galveston airport. Great pool area with two pools and a hot tub, charcoal grills, outdoor shower and bathroom. The kitchen was very nice. Granite counters, full size fridge, oven, stove, microwave, coffee pot, and dishwasher - all in good shape and well stocked with pots pans dishes silverware and accessories. Key retrieval instructions were clear and emailed to us a week before we arrived, and worked fine. Office staff was nice but answered everything with "contact the people you rented it from" - property manager did respond to my emails. We didn't use the (small) onsite coin-op laundry. There is a new go-cart track being built next door. The seawall across the street is not a beach - to find sand you'll need to get in the car. We liked Sunny Beach, about 3 minutes down seawall blvd. Overall this condo was fine for us - a place to crash with the kids. I have to say... from the pics and description we were expecting nicer - I hope the owners read this and invest in new mattresses for the beds. Maybe update the living room seating, and the bathrooms. Oh, and fix the bathroom fan. And spray out on the balcony for roaches, we saw two. Gotta love Galveston.

  The good: FABULOUS view. Two bathrooms. That was nice. The bad: Very small. Only one couch in living room and no other places to sit, other than bar stools. So with 4 adults and a couple of kids, we couldn't all gather around in the living room together. Also, the couch, which was a futon, had seen MUCH better days. The springs were broken and it was very uncomfortable to sit on, let alone, SLEEP on. The couch had holes and the paint was coming off the walls in the living room. The condo was very dirty. Our feet were black after walking around so we had to go buy a swiffer and clean upon arrival. We saw two giant roaches in the living room. The sheets on the bunkbeds were stained. There were no kitchen towels, not enough towels for the bathroom and no dust pan to go along with the broom. The lightbulb in the lamp in the smaller bedroom was busted and in pieces. The dishes in the cabinet were not clean and you could see lip prints and crust on the glasses. Also, it's a little misleading. Although it has a fabulous view, there is no beach area near it. We were there with kids and looking forward to just walking across the street for the beach, but we had to drive. Nothing but boulders and rocks across from the hotel. Not a big deal, but with two toddlers, we had been looking forward to the convenience of just walking across the street. I've stayed in condos in Galveston before, and it's very obvious when the owners actually use it on occasion for themselves, care for it a little more and add personal touches. I doubt the owners use this condo for little more than a place to clean up after a weekend of fishing. I would not stay here again.

  with the exception of not enough towels, or any kitchen towels, the condo was great. The view was to die for. The swimming pool was so great and since the gulf was entirely too rough to stay in, the pool was so good, the kids didn't show any disappointment at all. Everyone was comfortable. This was our first time to rent a condo for our stay in Galveston, but it won't be our last.

  Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, tourists without a car.
