Enjoy the best that the keys has to offer in this custom built designer home that has everything to make your vacation a great and unique experience. This 2/2 sleeps 4-6 and has a refined tropical finish with serene views of palm trees and water. The only problem is that you won't want to leave!
Nestled at the end of a quiet street at mile marker 28, this home has complete serenity, surrounded by tropical views of crystal clear water. The home boasts a huge kitchen stocked with the finest appliances and utensils that would satisfy any gourmet chef. The home's luxurious finish and open floor plan is complemented with the most beautiful and comfortable tropical furnishings. You breath will be taken away by the details!
The spacious, tropically furnished master bedroom opens up to a 500 square foot screened in balcony and also has its own bathroom with shower views of the palm trees and water. The second bedroom shares its full bathroom with the rest of the home. Both bedrooms are very quiet and have lots of natural light and very comfortable queen size beds. If you need another bed, there’s a full size convertible couch in the living room, and it has a very comfortable mattress, so you’ll be sure to get a great night’s sleep!
The dock can accommodate most any size boat, and comes complete with fish cleaning table. Cool off from a day of fishing with a dip in the crystal clear water. The canal gently flows and is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking. A refreshing rinse in the outdoor shower will prepare you for relaxing under the coconut palms in the hammock with a tropical drink from the upstairs bar. Watch as the kids reel in mangrove snappers from the dock (the canal is full of them!) Don’t have a boat? No problem. We can help arrange for a rental boat or for a charter boat for fishing, diving, or sightseeing! For the boaters, a full service marina including boat ramp, fuel and marine repair is conveniently located within the community.
An oversized JennAir Grille is located on the downstairs patio. It can cook enough for an army with five burners, an infra-red searing section, and a great side burner for blackening your catch. It comes complete with all utensils, porcelain grille pans for smaller items such as veggies and shrimp, and cast iron skillets for blackening to perfection. Eat your catch on the screened in balcony on the second floor watching as the water flows by the coconut palm trees.
Key West is nearby with only 25 minutes of scenic driving in between. Visit Key West for its world renowned shopping and dining. We’ll give you our treasure map of the locals’ favorite spots, and check out our Captain's Log for discounts. Be sure to visit the Southernmost Point in the US and then take part in the sunset celebration at Mallory Square. There you will find fire-breathing street performers, an acrobatic show with trained cats, and a very unique one-man-band. In Key West, you can also visit many historical sites and museums, enjoy unique artwork from the numerous local artists and embark on a sunset cruise on a large schooner sailboat.
If you like beaches, then you will love Bahia Honda State Park. The beaches are some of the top rated in the US, and it is only minutes away to the North! Also in the area is the Key Deer National Wildlife Preserve where you can see this endangered species roaming around.
The Little Torch area offers peaceful serenity like nowhere else in the Keys, but has every modern convenience including hardware stores, tackle shops, a major supermarket, and lots of great, often hidden restaurants and bars. You will love exploring the area. You can also celebrate a special occasion by taking a walk to the ferry boat to transport you and your family to a luxurious dining experience at the Five Star resort on Little Palm Island.
If you dive or fish, then you have got to stay in Little Torch. Looe Key (a reef directly offshore of our home) is a Federally protected marine sanctuary with dive sites rated as the best in the continental US. It is simply breathtaking! You will be amazed. For the spearfishermen, we have some great locations for you to visit. There are lots of Grouper, Mutton Snapper, Hogfish, etc, and the lobster abound! As for the fishing, the offshore pelagic species feed aggressively in the currents as the Gulf of Mexico pours into the Atlantic Ocean. There is good daytime Swordfishing on the drop-off. The Dolphin (Mahi-Mahi not flipper) fishing is second to none, and there are plenty of Wahoo, Tuna, and Marlin. The reef fishing is awesome, and there is a lot to explore in the back country, too.
When you drive through the lower keys, you feel the pace of life slow down. Every minute reveals a new breathtaking view as the Gulf of Mexico collides with the Atlantic Ocean and nature abounds over the sprawling ocean flats of the Florida Keys. Teams of Pelicans crash into the water chasing schools of baitfish, herons and cranes wade through the shallow waters, and dolphins play in the channels by the bridges. Life abounds in this paradise and every modern convenience is right around the corner. It just doesn't get any better.
This is our dream vacation home, and we use it for fishing, diving, and just plain relaxing with the family. We are willing to share this with you and your family, but only if you will take care of it as we do. If you are looking to pack the house and party loud, then this is NOT for you. This home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Its furnishings are very nice and not suitable for partiers (or pets). We are hoping that you and your family find the same pleasures that we do and return season after season. We will do whatever we can to make your stay comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable!

My wife and I rented this home for our vacation and had a wonderful time. The home is not your typical rental home and has high end furnishings and decorations. There are many things to do on and around Little Torch. There is an island right before you go out to the Atlantic called Picnic Island that many boats moor up one the sandbar, there is easy access to both oceans, Looe Key reef is right out front on the Atlantic side and is some of the best diving and snorkeling in the Keys, Key West is only 20 minutes away, You can take the ferry or your boat to exclusive resort Little Palm Island for a romantic meal, kayaking, biking, paddleboarding, etc. I would recommend this house to future vacationers.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

My Partner and I stayed here in 2012. It is a beautiful house in a quiet neighborhood. We loved our holiday there so much we rented it again for Dec 2012 Jan & Feb 2013. It is a very well maintained property. It has a fully equipped kitchen. It has a very nice back yard with hammocks and lounge chairs. The dock is brand new and the water in canal is clean and free flowing. This house is wonderfully decorated and cozy with a screened in porch over looking the canal. The pictures do not do the home justice, it's much nicer. There are many restaurants and local bars to choose from in the area. We tried several of them and were never disappointed. There is also a grocery store near by if you choose to cook with fresh produce and a wonderful wine selection. We were lucky enough to go our fishing and caught dinner for two nights. I would recommend this getaway to any one who is looking for a comfortable, pleasant surrounding on a quiet street. Anyone who wants to enjoy the sunny skies and the warm ocean breezes that the Keys have to offer, this is the place to be!!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car.

We rented this property for our first Keys vacation in 20 years. The home was better than advertised - the pictures in the listing don't do it justice. It is very well maintained, tastefully decorated, and the owners couldn't be more helpful. The location is central to most Keys attractions - minutes to Bahia Honda, and a short drive to Key West. There is a Captain's Log on site with lots of good information and restaurant recommendations. We tried them all. I would not hesitate to recommend this property.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

This property is perfectly located for those who want a quiet, relaxing place to stay yet be able to take in the many activities relatively close by in either direction on Highway 1. The home is newly rennovated, richly decorated, with great kitchen facilities. It is clean as a pin and very comfortable. The hosts were responsive and hospitable and attentive to requests, questions and needs.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

This is a nice location for fishermen. Launching ramp is very close with bait and ice. The dock at the property is new and sturdy but be prepared to provide your own buffering for the pilings as they have none. It is a short distance to the outside from the dock to open water and from there to the back country or the reef for lots of fun fishing. The filet table is handy with running fresh water. The bait freezer is very convenient. The house is newly renovated, very nicely appointed, and very clean. The screen porch is large and a great place to have meals on cooler days. The master bedroom opens on to the porch for a nice cool breeze. The kitchen is all new. The landscaping is attractive. Unfortunately the dishwasher quit part way through our stay. We acknowledged that this was no fault of the owner but we assumed there would be some current compensation for the loss of use of this advertised feature. The owner did not voluntarily offer any. When approached on the issue he offered only a discount for a future stay. His reply to our request for a small pro-rata refund “I find it very unfortunate for you that such a minor inconvenience could cause such an unpleasant experience for you during your vacation. …we simply cannot provide any refund for such a minor issue.” Nice place, but owner’s attitude left bad taste.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: We were happy that their stay was "better than expected" as stated, but did respond immediately to the report of the dishwasher breakdown, and ordered the part for repair. I don't know of any attitude conveyed, but did in fact express our being sorry for their inconvenience for those days, and offered a significant reduction for a future stay.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2011
About the owner: The home is owned by a few great friends: a pharmacist, a banker, and a high-end home builder, who all share a love and passion for the ocean and enjoy the keys lifestyle. We all enjoy bringing our families down for vacationing. We love to fish, dive, and cook our catch!
Why the Owner Chose Little Torch Key:
We have been coming to the keys for years for fishing, diving and just plain relaxing. We have stayed on most every island, but It was this area that we truly fell in love with. It is only in this stretch of the keys that you can have the best of everything. You find yourself surrounded by complete serenity and the most breathtaking views, and you still have every modern amenity and convenience at your fingertips. The area is removed from the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas, but you are only 20 minutes from Key West.
The fishing and diving off of the Little Torch area is the absolute best in the keys. There are several protected marine sanctuaries renowned to have the most pristine and beautiful reefs in the continental US. Offshore, the pelagic species feed aggressively as the Gulf of Mexico pours into the Atlantic.
When we found this house, we had to have it....it is awesome!. We knew we found our paradise.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Serenity - The home is located in a non-touristy area, at the end of a quiet residential street that has virtually no traffic. It's relaxing!
Convenience - Everything is at your fingertips. There are great restaurants and bars nearby, many that deliver. There are marinas, supermarkets, etc. And you're close to Key West without having to live in the madness.
We have a flow through canal - This is important and little known. Unlike most of the keys canals, ours was engineered with openings at both ends so that the water can freely flow through on both tides, always being replaced by new water. This is important because our water does not stagnate and is perfectly suitable for swimming and snorkeling.
Personal connections / discounts - We will give to you our favorite fishing / diving spots as well as a list of the best places to go to eat, etc. Many of these places extend discounts to our guests. We want you to have a great time and we want you to return again and again, so we try to show you the best the area has to offer and steer you away from the not-so-great places.
