  Context: 8 people total: 4 kids aged 5-10, 3 parents, and one grand parent. For my family it was our first time to Maui. After 4 days in a hotel it was a very welcome change to be in a house. You really are just minutes away from the best beaches in Wailea and the house was stocked with towels, boogie boards and even beach chairs which was a real plus as we didn't have any of that stuff. Most of the basics were already in the pantry, so take a look there first before heading to Safeway (just 10 minutes north). The kitchen was pretty well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, etc. so we were able to do a bunch of cooking which saved a lot of cash. There were even some games for the kids to play (monopoly, etc.) after a day at the beach. The house was clean with a lot of space - we had 8 people and it didn't feel crowded at all - grandma was on the main floor bedroom so didn't really have to do stairs. Two bedrooms upstairs were great for the kids and the wife & I were in the main bedroom. The lanai was a welcome place to hang out with a great view and we enjoyed eating out there or just hanging out. We were there in April and the only air conditioners that were needed were in the kids rooms - we were able to do very well with fans otherwise. The only downside was light - at night we could have used a few more lights in the house and it was a bit dark in the main room. As others have noted, it's pretty centrally located and it's not far to head up to Paia or Kaanapali. I'm actually glad it wasn't directly on the beach as it forced us to go out and explore what was around us, and when we got home it was a very quiet neighborhood so it was easy to crash and relax after a long day adventuring with the kids. In all we had a fantastic time there and would look to rent it again if we ever needed a place in Maui for 2 families.

  Enjoyed our stay, the house was spacious, plenty of room for our group of 10! The house was very clean, great view from the lanai and plenty of beach supplies, chairs and towels. The outside of the house does not do the inside justice and the backyard could have been better landscaped.

  My family of ten plus an infant spent a wonderful week in the Maui house. The Lanai was my favorite place with cooling breezes always available and a gorgeous view of the sea, and islands. The house was very clean and everything well maintained. Decor was pleasant and linens nice quality. Had a little trouble with the icemaker and an overflowing coffeepot, but perhaps it was our problem? The only problem was the heat. The downstairs bedroom had no air conditioning and with the heat and humidity, the fan coolness was limited. With window open and fan on, the master bedroom was comfortable. The other two bedrooms had box air conditioners which helped a great deal. The living room and dining room were especially warm once the breezes calmed down. Also, limited lighting for playing games or reading. Sooooo--just spent our evenings visiting on the lanai where it was much cooler--had dinner out there several nights too. House comes equipped with just about everything one could want. Plenty of beach chairs and "toys" and all necessary cooking items (we ate in, a fair amount). Never did find any dvd's which was surprising for a rental. Yard has some nice fruit trees but there is no grass--just dirt and wood chips so a problem for little ones wanting to run around. Great location for a number of nice beaches and not too far to drive to Kanapali or Lahaina for an outing. Right on edge of Wailea and close to its lovely beaches and hotels. (restaurants and Happy Hours) Somteimes difficult to connect with the owner regarding information and arrangements but all went smoothly, including directions from airport and house entry. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend as it's in a nice quiet neighborhood, close to beach and stores (with a car) and the view from the lanai can't be beat!
