Staniel Cay guest house description
The Beach Cottage is adjacent to our personal home of over 35 years on Staniel Cay. Still a small 'out island', Staniel cay's village atmosphere of small shops, stores, church, dining spots, yacht club and docks, and some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet will make for a very special vacation experience. Fishing and diving can be world class. Including the numerous surrounding islands and cays, you can swim with pigs, snorkel in the famous James Bond 'Thunderball Cave', visit Iguanas on a deserted island, dine at a 5 star resort, take a boat ride to the 'Exuma Land and Sea park' where the beach combing and snorkeling is fantastic, or just relax on the many surrounding unspoiled beaches.
The Cottage is just a little over 2 years old and perfect for the couple wanting to get away for a while. Described as an open, airy tropical setting with a fantastic location and outstanding views. It even has use of a private dock 50 meters down the sand beach. The furnishings can include the bedroom with a king size bed or two twins.
Contact Nikki Ferguson, the on island manager for all your needs (golf cart and boat rentals, fishing outings, etc.). She will see you are met upon arrival and transported to the Beach Cottage, as well as making sure you get back to the airport on departure day.

a perfect cottage, a perfect vacation
a perfect cottage, a perfect vacation
the beach cottage was better than i expected in every single way - i give this my highest recommendation. it is the first vacation rental i have ever stayed in that was "undersold" - it was cleaner and prettier than the pictures could depict. there were only 2 or 3 other neighbors in the entire bay - we LOVED being on the quiet side of the island, a 10 minute golf cart ride to the yacht club. i am SO glad we didn't stay at the yacht club, this place was paradise, we got the best of both worlds. sunrise from the cottage is amazing - and there is an epic sunset spot about 1/4 of a mile away. we were there for 10 days, we rented a golf cart the entire time, and a boat from "fredricko" for a few days, he was an amazing tour guide and captain - we swam with pigs on major, sharks on compass, dove thunderball grotto, plus the exuma land and sea park, and fed iguanas on bitter. my husband also rented a jet ski, which he loved. the cottage comes with two kayaks and two bikes. the bay in front of the cottage has a plane wreck in 2-6' of water and just beyond the wreck is a channel with awesome free-diving / snorkeling. both locations are an easy kayak away - don't forget to take some rope to tie off. pack water shoes / water socks with a thin sole for easy jogging or walking. the kitchen had all the basics, wine opener & can opener!!! the bed was comfortable, the couches were comfortable - the wifi worked, the cable worked. the view, the breeze, the island were all incomparable - i cannot capture it in writing. the cottage has cards, uno, dominoes and some puzzles. we shipped in some vegan food to accommodate our diet. if i had it to do over again, i would also ship wine because the wine selection on the island was so-so and over priced. (i paid $45 a bottle for something bottles that would normally come in around $10). the shower was a little small and the heat of the water seemed to be intermittent but nothing i would complain about. everything was clean. nikki and her staff were amazing and helpful, there whenever you needed them. we flew to fort lauderdale intl - then we went through watermakers air for the trip to staniel - everything was perfect. relaxing, rejuvenating, adventurous, romantic. if you want to get away from the rat race, this will do the trick nicely - it was truly the BEST vacation!

A week in paradise
A week in paradise
My boyfriend and I just returned from spending the last week of June at Beach Cottage in Staniel Cay and we couldn’t be happier with the whole experience. The house is very spacious for 2 people and is lovely decorated – very summery - and everything is colour matched, even the beach towels! The kitchen is well equipped for those days that you don’t feel like going to any of the 3 restaurants in the island (we cooked there quite often). The satellite TV has all the channels you could wish for and internet is surprisingly fast and reliable (when there are no power cuts in the whole island). The house has windows in all 4 directions, so although the AC worked perfectly fine on those super hot days, most of the time there’s a pleasant breeze blowing through that it’s more than enough to keep the house cool. The best bit of the house is, however, the porch. The first time we climbed the stairs and saw that view and the ever-changing colour of the water we knew we’d spend quite a lot of time of our holidays just sitting there! (or swimming just 10meters away from it!) The house is located in a very quiet area of the island providing a sense of peace and remoteness. We never saw anyone else in “our” stretch of beach. However, because the house comes with 2 bikes, you can just be anywhere else in the island – shops, yacht club - in about 5 minutes, so it’s perfect. We didn’t get around using the 2 kayaks, but I’m sure they would have been perfect to explore the little islands and creek that are just in front of the property. Also, the owner’s brother and his wife live close by and they made sure that we were happy with everything in the house and they even took us out one day in their boat to a nearby island to see the iguanas, they certainly didn’t have to do that and it was a lovely gesture for which we are very grateful. So we would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful getaway from “real life”. No complaints/downsides or whatsoever.

Debbie & Dave Shieber May 25, 2013 at 1:09 am Thank you Nikki! This was our first time on Staniel and it was a dream come true! We stayed at The Beach Cottage and it was paradise. Right on the water and beautifully clean and stocked. We didn’t want for a thing. It was the perfect cottage for us! Nikki made the reservation process easy and she and Monique took care of us from the moment we arrived on the island. We will never forget our first trip to the island and we will definitely be back next year! Thank you 3Ns! See you next year!

My girlfriend and I spent 5 nights down in Staniel. Ran the boat down from Jupiter. Everyone said how amazing the Exumas are but until you get there no picture does it justice. The cottage is the perfect size for two people and is on a secluded little cove on the south end of the cottage. Sunrise every morning on the front porch and sitting on the porch in the evening with the cottage blocking the sun is the best. Very quiet on this end of the island and not much going on around. The bikes are alot of fun and are more than adequate to see the whole island. Perfect place to get away from everything. Nikki is always a phone call or email away which the house has wifi so you can still stay connected if you want. Dock was great and could see fish swimming and was able to moor a boat there with a shallow draft. Definately coming back again. By far our best trip to the islands.

Shell family stay
T. Shell January 12, 2012 at 6:23 pm My husband and I spent three weeks on Staniel Cay and cannot wait to return. We stayed at the Beach Cottage and couldn’t be more happy. It was sparkling clean, the kitchen had anything you could ask for. Amazing views and beautiful artwork all around. The property is surrounded by luscious flowers and sits right on the water. We were very impressed with Nikki’s services. It was our first time on Staniel Cay (definitely not the last), and she made us feel right at home. When we needed assistance, she went out of her way to help. We will never forget her attention and her kindness.
