Charleston house description
The carriage house was built in 1813, which makes it one of the oldest structures in the historic district. It is located upstairs and the private balcony overlooks historic George Street and the gardens. It is located directly across the street from the Spoleto Arts Festival ticket office, and in easy walking distance from all the shops on King Street, and art galleries, restaurants, the carriage rides and shopping in the Slave Market.
The 1813 Carriage House has a a private staircase leading to the balcony and door. On the balcony is comfortable wicker furniture perfect for reading and relaxing in the mornings over coffee and for cocktails in the afternoon.
There are three separate rooms in the 1813 Carriage House to allow for room to spread out. A kitchen, separate living room, and one bedroom and bath. There is a door to separate the bedroom from the living room, to allow for quiet sleeping while someone else is in the living room watching television. Also, the sofa in the living room, opens into a queen sized bed if needed for up to two children.
The interiors are decorated with exquisite period furniture and antiques, comfortable chairs, rugs and art, making for a perfect vacation in old historic Charleston. There is a full kitchen to allow for cooking meals and a small eating area. All cooking and eating utensils and pots and pans are provided.
The 1813 Carriage House is the perfect Charleston get away, an exquisite gem in the heart of Ansonborough district, and old Charleston.
