  We just got back from a week at Villa Shacks. Not one complaint. Property is beautiful and well-maintained. We enjoyed snorkeling, surfing and paddleboarding right out front. Restaurants and shopping all close by in a very safe and friendly area. It was a pleasure to work with Mark. All of his recommendations were perfect. We will definitely return!

  What an incredible place to stay! This place has it all; great views, beach access, snorkeling, surfing, great owner, fantastic pool, close to airport, close to grocery and restaurants. We had a great stay at Villa Shacks. The unit was terrific and we had a great time. I will highly recommend this place to all who are interested in traveling to the Western part of Puerto Rico. The owner, Mark was very hospitable and great to get to know. He was very helpful with getting us setup with SUP's, telling us where good restaurants were and any other questions we had. I will definitely be making a return trip with the family.Thanks Mark for allowing us to stay with you!

  I had been to Puerto Rico a few times before surfing during the winter months, but wanted a place I could bring the whole family during summer when the kids were not in school. We started looking on VRBO and found this place and said lets give it a try. WOW--What a Find indeed! This place is definitely a little slice of heaven. The owner Mark greeted you like he had been your friend for years, and I hope to be his friend for years. He has the area wired too for all the great things to do. A must is the horseback ride on the beach from Tropical Trail Rides, the kids loved it..and me too! Craig and his wife Michelle will really take care of you and have a safe ride. We will be back soon. Like all the reviews have already stated this is truly an amazing place, so close to the water and awsome snorkling right there off the beach. I hear the surf is good right out front as well. Thanks Mark for a great time and we will be in touch.

  It is rare when a vacation booked online meets one's expectations, and even more rare when one exceeds it. Villa Shacks did just that. Wow, what an incredible place. This was my second visit to Shacks Beach, and first staying at Villa Shacks. I plan on making it my annual winter vacation spot. I'm a surfer and kiteboarder and this is the ideal place for both. The kiting directly in front of the villa is awesome. It also has a nice reef break for surfing. In addition, there are numerous surfing spots within a 5-10 minute drive, for all skill levels. The info packet Mark gave us was spot-on. We tried many of the restaurants on the list and none of them disappointed. We also purchased fresh fish and cooked on the outside gas grill a few evenings. The location is amazing. The ocean is literally at your doorstep. After a full day of surfing and kiteboarding it is mesmerizing chillin' on the porch with a cold beverage, watching the sun set, over the turquoise ocean. I'd have zero reservations recommending Villa Shack to anyone looking for a Caribbean escape. This place is a gem.

  I just wanted to take the time to thank you for the vacation on a lifetime. I was content to never leave the property or our balcony over looking the ocean the entire ten days. the sunsets, the sea breeze, the beautiful beaches right out our front door. It was the first time I was away that after a week I didn't just want to be home. Did I mention the insane surf and kite surfing sessions that were nonstop the entire time we were there?   My boyfriend and I, along with another couple, had the pleasure of staying at Villa Shacks for about 5 days in late February. It was a fabulous experience overall. The unit is basic, but clean, functional, and very cozy. We were in the bottom unit, facing the ocean, which provided a spectacular view and insurmountable energy from the ocean. Several days we took off and explored the island. Rainforests, coffee plantations, waterfalls, and surf spots are all fairly close by and easy to reach. The resort next door is nice for a nite of "dressing up" and dining....and is a very short beach walk away....and the food was amazing. We will definitely make a return trip at some point I hope :)

  This has to be one of the best spots all around in Puerto Rico if you looking to get away from the mainstream crowds. Great for traveling couples and friends alike. The owner has it so dialed from booking to delivery dotting all the i's and crossing all t's. His support staff is terrifice, place is super clean, quaint and stylish. The pics do not do it justice. The location could not be better in Isabella capitalizing on the remote feel but with the convenience and plus's of low key but beautiful resort with nice resturant & bar right next door, walking distance to friendly, simple good food and drink Lolas Resturant down the road, or a short drive to the Thai Resturant nearby all that you would not know were there unless you wanted to. If you kitesurf, the set up is perfect. You can surf in the morning before the wind comes up out back or take a short drive to Wilderness, SUP, or swim/snorkel on the inside of the reef. All right outside your doorstep. The pool deck set up is like having the perfect stage to watch the action or take in the tranquil scenery. In the evening sitting with my girlfriend and friends watching the locals, all of which are super nice, rip right out back was almost as enjoyable as my own sessions in the line up. Never did it get too crowded. I would recommed this place to others. We will be coming back for sure. Thanks again Mark.

  We had the opportunity to stay at Villa Shacks in February and had a fantastic time. We were two couples traveling together and looking for a location near great kitesurfing and surfing. If this house got any closer to the best kiting in Puerto Rico it would be IN the water. You only have to walk off the deck to launch your kite. Shacks beach is a small community/neighborhood overlooking a beautiful coral reef beach. It is a great location for anyone- kiters, surfers, families and anyone wanting to relax in style. Villa Shacks is at the end of the beach by the Villa Montana resort, and has unobstructed views. You may be hard pressed to pull yourself away from the deck. The house is newly updated, contemporary and comfortable. It is a special spot, and Mark, the owner, goes above and beyond to make sure you are settled and comfortable. I noticed how many people staying near by wanted to move to his house. It will quickly become the "it" spot, and we are already contemplating booking our next trip before he fills up! A few couples or small families traveling together should book the entire house for a more exclusive experience. The two front units offer more in views and personal lounge space, while the back units have no views, but a little more interior space.

  We were lucky enough to visit Villa Shacks between Christmas and New Year's Eve. The accommodations were even nicer than the photos give credit, the beach was great for water sports, swimming and snorkeling, and Mark, our host, treated us like family. The other guests staying in the units were very nice and sharing the pool and deck area was never an issue. The unit is literally right on the beach, feet from the ocean, and one could spend hours just watching the kite boarders and surfers from the balcony. Maybe next year I will get out there myself.
