Beachwood on the Bay is a roomy two bedroom, two bathroom condo with all the amenities of home. The Master suite has
a king size bed, private bathroom, dressing area, shower and sitting area with television. It has a private sliding door that opens out to the screened lanai. From here you can watch the birds, dolphins and manitees in their natural habitat or lie leisurely in bed while enjoying the breathtaking view of the sunrise over the mangroves from your master bedroom window. The second bedroom offers two twin beds with a window facing Bonita Beach. From this room you can see sunsets in all their brilliance as they dance over the gulf of Mexico. Enjoy making a home cooked breakfast in your full kitchen and then grab your beach chair, towel, sunscreen and favorite novel for a leisurely day in crystal waters.
Beautiful Bonita beach is located a short walk across the street from the front door of the unit. Here you can walk the white sand
beaches for miles, find beautiful shells for souveniers, swim in the turquois waters, or take a nap in the warm sun.
On the bay side, we have dock access for fishing available, bring your tackle box, rod and reel and see what you might catch for dinner. If you prefer a pool to the gulf of Mexico, you'll find a very private pool area on the bay side with an outdoor shower. Dad can grill his catch on the barbe while mom tends the children in the pool.
Black topped bike paths are located directly in front of our building. Travel on them to the south and you will enjoy viewing the Florida foilage, and residential palm tree lined streets. Doc's Beach House is about a mile and a half down the road and boasts relaxed beach front dining. For the adventurer you can rent a jet ski or go parasailing from here. Lovers key is a short trip to the north of the condo and offers walks through a natural preserve.
Every evening, barring clouds, you will see spectacular sunsets over the gulf of Mexico. These can be viewed from the front door of your condo or directly from the beach. Raise your glass with a loved one and make a toast. It's a sunset tradition.
For a night on the town, take a 30 minute car ride south to Naples. Here you will find restaurants of every type of cuisine. Dress to impress and do some window shopping along streets lined with art gallerys, unique boutiques and rare jewelry stores. After hours on the weekends some of these eateries have been known to double as a dance club, so bring some dancing shoes or buy them there..
Naples Tin City is filled with unique shops for those looking for unusual souveniers. Back in Bonita you will find Fleebees Flea market on Bonita Beach Road, near 75. This Flea market is only
open weekends and offers great deals on just about everything. Enjoy the treasure hunt.
For the gambler the dog track is located on Bonita Beach road, and you can find Indian run casinos throughout the everglades.
Take a ride 30 minutes north to Ft. Myers Beach and enjoy many options in waterfront dining, shopping and sight seeing. Ft. Myers peir is a lovely place to see the sunset or walk with that special someone. Don't forget to stop at Kilwin's and try their amazing Turtle apple. Buy one and slice it up to share.
From Ft. Myers you can take a 3 hour Cruise to Key West for the day. In Key West you can see the home of Earnest Hemingway, shop, eat and drink. Here you can find boats to offer you great snorkeling, or diving exhibitions. The night life in Key West bubbles over with excitement.
Bonita Beach is one of those rare and special places that offers the best of both worlds. While the condo is tranquil and relaxing, brimming with the natural beauty of southwest Florida, Those desiring more adventure and activity in their vacation will find it a short car trip or boat ride away.
Educational experiences are everywhere, Ft. Myers offers the historical summer homes of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford, See one of the first in ground heated swimming pools, tour the summer homes of Edison and Ford and Thomas Edisons work shop. It's fascinating for the whole family.
The Florida Everglades are about 45 minutes south and offer many places to experience air boat rides through the everglades. Bring a camera, you're sure to see a few alligators up close and personal. While you're there stop for lunch and try eating gator for a meal. I've tried it, and I have to say, it tastes like chicken.
The Naples Zoo is one of the nicest zoos we've ever been to. Meander down tree lined paths and enjoy the many labeled varieties of flora and fauna. Much of it is shaded, so even on the warmest days, the zoo can be a very enjoyable place to visit. It's not as large as some zoos but what it doesn't ahve in size it makes up for in charm. My boys love the boat tour through the monkey islands. You will also see lions, tigers and panthers. They have various shows throughout the day as well. Fun for the whole family.
Life in Southwest Florida is what you make of it. Relax and enjoy the natural beauty all around, or explore the adventures that await. I hope you choose to experience our home away from home. You won't be disappointed.

I stayed in this condo February 2013. Lots of space and everything you need is there. Loved the access to the ocean (across the street) and the view of the leeway at the back. Building is quiet and safe. Many residents are owners and very friendly to visitors. I knew the Bonita Springs area from previous vacations, but there way still much to see and do.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing.

My family stayed at this beautiful condo for 2 weeks (early March 2010). Although there were 3 adults and 2 small children, the condo was spacious and most accommodating for a family. I had stayed in this same building in a unit on the second floor the year previous. But this 4rth floor unit has much better views of both the Gulf and the inland waterway...spectacular to be able to view both sides from one unit! The building is small, very quiet and houses mostly owners...so I considered myself very lucky to have found this one...especially for a 2 week rental. The pool area is cosy and never busy so one can enjoy the water with one's family. The pool is suppose to be heated...when we arrived it wasn't...we asked and was told the heater was broken....however with its seclusion surrounded by hedges it gets very warm there even if the air temps are not cooperating. Bonita Beach is an oasis of restfulness from the March madness of Fort Myers and Naples. It still maintains open areas of beautiful sand dunes along the beach front. The beach is just a convenient 3 minute walk across the street...but watch out for the traffic of Bonita Beach Rd! The condo was newly painted and tiled when we arrived last year in appealing "Floridian" pastels...very soothing for the eyes and mind. As well the furniture has been carefully selected to blend in with the "coastal lifestyle". The beds were most comfortable. For good times at the beach, the owner has left a good selection of beach toys, towels, and chairs. The location of the condo is central to outlet malls, the "nightlife" of Fort Myers/Naples, close to the airport. We discovered an amazing waterpark just a short drive away as well. Next door is a plontoon boat rental which I highly recommend to discover by water the inland waterways and observe dolphins and mantarays swimming beside you...as you enjoy the ecosystem of this area. My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and we are delighted to back again this year.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children.

I stayed three lovely weeks and was very comfortable. This condo is lovely, updated, well-equipped, and clean. I spent my early hours out on the lanai . . . the sights and sounds of the bay so enjoyable. I was pleasantly surprised to see dolphins or manatee make their appearances virtually every morning. Most of my lazy days were spent on the beach or lounging pooIside. My evenings were spent exploring the region, enjoying the parks or nearby shopping and cute, interesting little hot spots. I love that the area is near to fun nightlife, but not in the middle of all the commotion and mayhem. This condo is a tucked away little paradise. . . I loved my stay here and look forward to enjoying my time here again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.

About the owner: I'm inviting you and your family to come and enjoy our home away from home. For many years our family has traveled to Bonita Beach for vacation and for as long as my boys can remember Bonita Beach has been our second home. Our family has enjoyed all the beauty of southern Florida, we've made life long friendships here and now we look forward to sharing some of the sights and experiences we've enjoyed here with you. In the past we've had long term renters who have recently been unable to return. I'm hopeful to fill the empty months with people who enjoy it as much as we do. Please let me know if you're interested in making some of our favorite places some of your own...
Why the Owner Chose Beachwood on the Bay:
My husband and I purchased this condo because I'm a beach lover and he was a boater/fisherman. This condo offered the absolute best of both worlds. It has the beach within very close walking distance and boat docks located a stones throw from the lanai. The bay has direct access to the gulf of Mexico so unlimited boating is possible. Fish Tale Marina is located about 10 minutes north of our Condo, 20 minutes by boat. Fishtale Marina is a wonderful marina offering rack storage if available, a full service department, boat store and sales department. Many mornings my husband could be seen boating on the gulf of Mexico while the boys and I played beach side. Around noon my husband would swing in to pick us up for lunch at one of the many fine eateries with dock access. His favorite place was Cabbage key above Sanibel Island. It can only be reached by boat. It is said that Cabbage Key is where Jimmy Buffett wrote the famous song Cheeseburger in Paradise. If you've ever been to Cabbage Key for a cheeseburger you might believe it.
