Elegant, but comfortable home
Elegant, but comfortable home
My mother and sister and I stayed at La Cristina the whole month of February. We've visited Ajijic many many times, but this is one the loveliest places we've ever stayed. While the home is not in the village, depending on your preferences, that means no church bells, traffic issues, parking problems or on-going festivals. La Cristina is wonderfuly peaceful and quiet, located on a short lane in a quiet development. The staff that attends the house and grounds are very attentive and we were able to communicate easily. The property manager is always available, and while we seldom needed her, it was nice to have her as a back up, just in case! We had a car available, but it would be just as easy to take the short ride in a cab, or catch the bus on the main road. Ajijic is a village, but has plenty to offer by way of shopping and a variety of places to eat. You can do as much or as little as you want with La Christina as your home base! We sent pictures to our friends, who were all jealous of our vacation location. You will be too!

About: We first came to Ajijic in 2003 and kept returning in Winter. Retired in '04. We grew tired of shoveling snow in Santa Fe, NM, In 2007 we came for the winter as usual, bought La Cristina, and never left. With the exception of visiting our children in the U.S. and the occasional European travels, we've made Mexico our permanent home.
We built a custom home for ourselves in another part of Ajijic and felt that others would love to experience what we loved and adored in La Cristina.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
What's not to love? Swimming and relaxing in the sunshine in the morning, afternoon or early evening without crowds or chaos. The gourmet kitchen is especially wonderful with it's spacious areas and a place for everyone to help out. It's also a great family home for holidays and vacations. Our children have been here many times. The cross breezes throughout are wonderful and it's just so pleasant.
