This home is in Waialua, a short beach cruiser bike ride from Haliewa (5 minutes by car). It has a very secluded beach that rarely has people around. Great swimming is just a couple hundred yards away. In the winter, enjoy a front row view of one of the best tow in surf spots on the islands with 35-40 foot giants during an XXL swell. The location of this home is perfect for the person that wants to be on the north shore but avoid the traffic jams that happen in the east side of Haleiwa but have access to the best the north shore has to offer.
BIKES
We have 5 beach Cruisers available for use while you stay here. (biking to Haleiwa is a lot of fun)

Loved this beautiful house on the beach! We rented this well appointed and clean rental to celebrate my 50th birthday in Oahu with family, and there was plenty of space for 6 people (adults and kids). Beach right out the back just like in the photos, and a well manicured garden from back door to beach - we loved the garden and the hot outdoor showers too. Photos accurately portray the house and amenities. Owner answered all our questions in a timely manner. We didn't really have any major concerns with the house once we found it (tricky to find on the first night even though Lanny emailed me excellent directions, since we arrived in the dark). Great stay! Walked the beach every morning and every night, fell asleep to the crash of surf. Kids swam, snorkelled, and used the Boogey boards (provided at rental) every day and even in the rain! Enough privacy from the street/neighbours from plenty of surrounding foliage and an awesome sliding entry gate. Kitchen was great to cook in and we ate "in" most nights with dinner served on the deck. Lots to do in the area including the "must not miss" Old Sugar Mill that has the best shave ice (not to mention some colourful characters). Haleiwa is close by with shopping, restaurants, and a Foodland. The Banzai Pipeline (at Ehukai beach) and Waimea Valley are "must sees". Don't miss driving the beautiful North Shore and enjoy rural O'ahu'. We would definitely recommend this destination, including this rental property as home base. Thank you - we would love to come again!!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed here in January Upon arrival, we were met by Lannie who was very friendly and informative. I don't remember what was advertised in description, but I wasn't disappointed. Very Clean house, linens on bed, bathrooms. The house is gorgeous, beach front is true. Twenty steps from the back garage door and you are on the sand. Outdoor showers! I didn't take one shower indoors! Great kitchen! Outside gas grill to use. Could have used a toaster but I was on VACA in Hawai'i no need to whine about that. Quiet neighborhood at night! You could see whales offshore. You are minutes from the Sugar Mill where you can get great shave ice, and minutes from Haleiwa, and beaches and breaks Waimia, Bonzai, Sunset. You will not meet better people like Lannie and his family Deena and Christian, who went out of their way to make you feel welcome! Lannie just check on your bikes neither of them had tires that would fill. :( I will recommend to my family and friends that are looking for housing on North Shore to check out this place!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

My Husband and I choose the north shore as our location for exploring the Island. This Property meet or beat our expectations at every level. Steps from the beach we had access to swimming, snorkeling, beach walks and of course amazing views and very private and quite. The property was beautiful with wonderful craftsmanship. 3 full baths and bedrooms make this great for a large family or two families with Kids. Having beach toys and bikes was an added plus. The location was great as we were mins from Haleiwa where there were coffee shops, cafes and shopping. Also easy access to all the North Shore beaches for surf action and shrimp shacks. Honolulu was about 35 mins with no traffic. Lanny & Deena were great hosts. They meet us when we got there (10:30 pm) and gave us a tour of the property and lots of great info on farmers markets, places to eat etc. Will return here again and again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary in this wonderful home. The location stunning, the home beautifully laid out to accommodate the six people in our group. The pocket doors in the living room and master bedroom opened from wall to wall to give the illusion that you were actually outside, sitting on that golden sand. We stood outside every night to view the lovely sunsets, wine in hand, the turquoise water lapping at our feet. As with any rental, there were a few things needed to be repaired or replaced, but nothing that affected our comfortable and relaxing stay at this beautiful home. Lanny, the owner, actually texted us to make sure everything was going well. The younger adult members of our group, explored the coast, hiked to Kaena Pt., met interesting locals (Aaron and Nugget, the dog board paddler), rode bikes to Halei'wa Town and had shave ice at the local General Store. (YUM) Having spent my younger years here in Hawaii, it was so nice to have a place to come home to. We were very happy with the accommodations and hope to be fortunate to stay here again. Thank you so much!! PS We would love to send you some pictures of our stay so we can fill up that album on your coffee table :)Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/6

The one star rating is for the beauty of the house and the location. But this owner is trying to manage two units in rural Oahu from Arizona, which doesn't work when there is a need for an immediate response. An owner needs to have his eye on things. He does not seem to be aware of the extent of the wear and tear on the 3BR unit. This is basically a first-class accommodation, but the stairs are badly scratched, there is a thick layer of grease on the hood over the range, one towel bar has come off the wall leaving a hole and there is no towel bar at all in another bathroom, the slip covers on the sofa are filthy, there was a very minimum of toilet paper for 6 people. Security is a problem, as everyone seems to have access codes. Bicycles that were in the garage of our unit for our use disappeared from the locked garage one day. We saw them in the garage of the other unit of this duplex. Worse, the owner does not seem to understand how to deal with the gas bottles for the range. We were unable to use the range at all for a day and a half, and after the supply was switched from one tank to the other, the range still did not work properly, suggesting the second tank was nearly empty. And worst of all, a water valve blew in the middle of the night sending water shooting 8 feet in the air. Luckily this was outdoors, but we had no idea what to do. We found a temporary solution (at 2AM) that left us with no hot water. The plumber who came apparently did not do his job, because the same thing happened again a couple of days later. Meanwhile, we had trouble reaching the owner and he had no local contact who could handle these issues. Our post-vacation memo summarizing all of this went unanswered. In short, it seems the owner is trying to maximize his investment with a minimum of cost, which is not a first-class approach at all.Owner response: My intuition was barking when I rented our place to this person that I shouldn't rent to her. When she called me from our unit, I called her back within 15 minutes and we actually live next door to this house but were out of town and we DID have someone local that was caring for the property. After she left our place, she sent me the following message to shake me down for money to get positive feedback. I am not real big on extortion. "the house is beautiful, but didn't meet the standards we expected for the price and promised features. Given our experience and the lack of a local property manager who can be reached at all times with authority to respond in an emergency, we can't recommend this rental. We'd like to suggest a reasonable compensation for our inconvenience, $350."

Great views of the ocean and very peaceful! Nearby town of Haleiwa has several good restaurants and shave ice locations. We were there in June and with all of the windows in the house and the pocket doors that opened the house up overlooking the beach, we never had to turn the AC on...the winds kept the house cool and comfortable. We were lucky enough to meet Lanny & Deena, as they were there next door to us the week we were there. The house is convenient to all North Shore activities, and only about 45 minutes to Pearl Harbor & Honolulu. We were so glad that we opted to stay here instead of the overly commercialized Waikiki area!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/6

A truly magical place in a magical location, and one that we can't wait to visit again. I have stayed in a number of places that state "beachfront", but nothing like this .. it really IS waterfront! Next time we visit Oahu, we'll half the time we spend in Honolulu (lovely though it is), and spend the remaining time here. Is really is such a relaxing place, just a few days here feel like a whole week away!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Photos truly depict the beauty of this place. Private beach a few footsteps away. No crowds. View spouting humpback whales in the distance and see the turtles sun themselves in the backyard. The ocean waves lull you to sleep every night. Last home on the street and adjacent to open field/beach. Plenty of room for visiting family or friends and each bedroom has private bathroom. Toddler beach toys and play-n-pak available. Owners very pleasant and friendly. They let my husband borrow fishing equipment. Beach cruisers available to ride into Haleiwa, nearby Sugar Mill (lots of goodies there), and Farmer's Market. Perfect 3 mile jog on paved bike path alongside road to roundabout and back. Bonzai sushi in Haleiwa was our favorite restaurant when we weren't cooking in the well equipped kitchen. Wailua Bakery my favorite place for sandwiches, fresh papaya and baked goods. Thanks Lanny and Deena. We want to come back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Look forward to seeing you guys next year. :o)

We wanted to say thank you for making our honeymoon absolutely wonderful! We will never stay in another hotel as long as we are in Oahu, but instead be staying here (if it is available). Such a romantic place to spend with just my new wife and I. We even unexpectedly had some friends stay with us a night who were in town for business and they simply loved the fact that we had our own private beach! This home is perfect for that peace and quiet you ask for on a vacation. Will recommend to all our friends and family heading to Waialua.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
