We stayed at this beautiful cabin in October 2011 for a week. The pictures do not do it justice, the house has beautiful decor and everything you could ever need for cooking. While you are there you need to visit Alexander's in Blairsville, you will love it. The scenry is beautiful on the way up to the cabin, with wild turkeys and deer. The cabin is soooo relaxing, we enjoyed just staying at the cabin, putting a puzzle together or listening to music on the big wrap around porch.... instead of sightseeing. Close to everything that you might want to see and visit. We plan on renting this cabin again in the spring and fall next year.

our extended family has enjoyed Almost Paradise for 6 years! Large, comfortable cabin - perfect for family games, stories and building memories. Grandchildren look forward to the "mountain cabin" each year.

I would recommend this house to anyone. It is a beautiful setting; it is large and very family oriented. The thing I enjoy most, is sitting on the porch and looking into the valley. For a family there is so much near. If you like the outdoors, there is fishing, hiking, white water rafting, and many other things. My family has been there three years. The weather is always beautful and much cooler than down south. The owner is very helpful. I have never met her, but I feel as if I have known her for a long time.We have never had a problem, but she always wants to know if we need anything. We always have a large group on our vacations, and this house allows us to spread out and not be in each others way. I pray we are able to continue to get reservations each year.

We had a great stay at Almost Paradise - it is definitely appropriately named!! It was all it was described as being - very clean and well-maintained. The owner was extremely helpful in answering all my questions before our stay. We had room for our two adult children and our grandchildren - a great place for our family to be together. I would definitely recommend this facility to others. We especially enjoyed our visit to the John Campbell Folk School which is a short drive from there. The town of Hiawassee has a beautiful park with beach area, play ground, and picnic area.

I recommend that you book this home as soon as possible. It is much grander than the pictures indicate! The upstairs is spacious and open, and the two floors can be separated completely if you rent one or the other. However, the inside staircase can be opened for a large group renting the entire house. Each floor is well furnished with essentials and each has its own porch. The loft is arranged in a way that it is secluded, though open. It is perfect for children or teenagers. If you are interested in an adult getaway, five couples could easily stay here with room to spare. Elderly or handicapped people can easily access the home, including bedrooms, a bathroom, and the porch. Parking is plentiful. Beautiful Lake Chatuge, great for fishing, skiing, and boating, is a short drive away. Although the location is rural, grocery and drug stores, and even a hospital, are less than 15 minutes away. The home has the look of a professional decorator, but it is not adorned in a way that you cannot enjoy it with your children. While the inside is nothing short of stunning, you will not spend a great deal of time there because the panorama from the wrap around porch/deck is simply spectacular. I have visited this area all of my life, and this is one of the most memorable views I can recall. Morning coffee on the porch can turn into an all day event! We have rented accommodations many times and in many places, and this ranks at the top in terms of location, beauty, quality, and economy. Whether you are interested in a quiet, relaxing stay or a base from which to adventure out, you will not be disappointed.

Just wanted to drop you a note to tell you how beautiful your home is and how much we so enjoyed staying there this past weekend. You have it decorated so pretty, it just makes you feel so right at home. There were a lot of things to see in Hiawassee and the surrounding area, but the most we enjoyed was just spending time out on the porch on the picnic tables. I don't think any of us ever set at your dining table, we would fix our plates and go right to the porch to eat. We met your neighbors, they were so nice & sweet. She even brought us some veggies and a watermelon, back in the city you just don't find people like that, so loving & giving. Thanks again for your hospitality in sharing your home with us.
