HighlandHouse surprises with over 16 pieces of original artwork and design details in every corner. Vibrant colors, bohemian chic, vintage charm and LA casual beach just start to characterize this cheery and inviting beach house. Before heading to the beach, soak in the sun on your very own private and enchanting landscaped patio space with upper deck off living area.
Two fireplaces, two gas grills, two furnished patio spaces, and two 'living spaces' complete this house that is ideal for groups or individuals. The upper house features a private keyed entry with full kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and deck with a reduced rate of $149/$179 (only available off peak) and accommodates up to 4. Rent the whole house to accommodate up to 6 for $349 (peak) & $249 (off peak). Main level living area offers a shared (lockable) entrance or a separate private entrance with bedroom, living room, bathroom, 42' led flatscreen, laundry & mini bar/kitchen setup including a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee station.
1/2 or full house option is available from October - April.
We supply beach gear such as body boards, beach towels, toys, surfboards, football, volleyball, 5 beach cruiser bikes, and chairs/umbrella. We also supply a pack & play and stair guard for the little ones.
Property is located in a prime walkable Manhattan Beach location West of Highland. 2 blocks from the water you are at the center of the beach universe with shopping, surfing, strand biking, & exceptional bars/restaurants all within a 5 minute walk. This is a classic two level beach house in a sought after and laid back beach community.
Laundry and parking for a mid size vehicle or smaller are included.

This great home lived up to its description: It was comfy and in easy walking distance to the beach and the attractions of downtown Manhattan Beach. We were able to have our grown kids use the downstairs space for their visit, and the upstairs was quite spacious. We easily accommodated a dinner party for eight, complete with cloth napkins and nice place settings. Biking, shopping, dining, running - we did it all from this wonderful home base. I highly recommend it!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I travelled to LA with my wife and 4-month old daughter in order to attend my brother's wedding. This house was the perfect property for our stay. It is very close to downtown Manhattan Beach (5-minute walk) with it lovely boutiques and the beach (5-minute walk). Manhattan Beach itself is a lovely community. The property itself is perfect! Everything was in perfect order for our stay. (A baby bed was included for our 4-month old.) The house was well stocked with the necessities and the rooms were large and spacious. The next time we come to LA, we would definitely like to stay here again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Just escaped from Hurricane Sandy in NJ and landed in Paradise. The home has a great feel, loved the decorating and they've thought of everything to make your stay fabulous. Great location near beach and town. We took the whole house because we were 5, but if my husband and I can get back again the top would be enough! It was hard to leave....Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We used this house as one of three we rented for a two week long family reunion. The house was our favorite and just as described - attractive and comfortable - and was great for enjoying time with our family and taking in the beach air. It is extremely close to, but not on, the beach and is in easy walking distance of tons of amenities. The master bedroom accommodations are beautiful. The other bedroom is very large and we had no difficulty sharing everything with two bathrooms and full laundry. The owner, David, was extremely helpful in volunteering lots of information about the neighborhood and things to do. I hope to return and definitely would recommend this property, location and David, to a friend or relative.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My 3 friends and I got in the car and headed from Phoenix to Manhattan Beach to stay here and it couldn't have been a better fit. So close to the ocean, you can hear the waves crashing and walk a few feet to the end of the street to see the glorious beach. The house itself is clean, functional, and it had everything we needed to cook all of our meals and relax. The artwork throughout is really nice and fits so well. Manhattan Beach is such a relaxing, tight-knit community and even during Memorial Day weekend it was not very busy which was nice. Yet it's close enough to go anywhere in the LA area. I used to live in MB so I wanted to rent a house rather than stay at a hotel for a family wedding in the area. This was the PERFECT location! Just two short blocks to the beach and it's actually a nice walk using the "walk streets." Also, it is a few blocks from downtown MB, so close enough to walk but just far enough so it's nice and quiet. The house has a very fun and creative style and everything is extremely clean and well maintained. Definitely one of the better equipped "vrbo" kitchens that we have experienced. They actually have decent knives that can cut through normal foods! : ) Great to have chairs, bikes, etc. to take to the beach. The garage is small so a sedan fits in there like a glove, but a bigger car/SUV would have been an issue (good excuse to rent a fun little convertible in LA!). Owner was incredibly accomodating and was even able to provide a pack & play and baby gate on short notice so we didn't have to pay for the extra checked luggage. We will definitely be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We rented the upper floor of this lovely house. It's not sprawling but the size was perfect for us. The house is impeccably decorated, down to the last detail. (If you open a drawer you'll find tasteful patterned drawer liners, etc.), there are great home furnishings, fluffy towels and robes and artful touches everywhere. Very cute. It's not right on the ocean, as explained in the listing, but it's a very, very short walk to both the beach and the main drag where there are plenty of places to dine. Or you can cook for yourself in the very nicely equipped kitchen. There were even beach cruiser bikes available that we used to take a great ride on the beach bike path. We loved it! Great place to stay. What an awesome cooking facility from the bbq'er to all the wonderful cookware and utensils. The kitchen is amazing. We invited family from the area over for a bbq and everyone had a great time at the beach and private patio.. which was sunny but not scorching. The description is very accurate and the location just 2 blocks from the beach and manhattan beach center made it easy to see all the sights. Rented the half house and we enjoyed our stay very much. The owners refined style, attention to detail (both design & cleanliness), and thoughtfulness about the functionality of the space is apparent. The unit was serene and close to the beach, which contributed to a very relaxing vacation. I have to say the description and customer service the owner provided does not disappoint. We will be back!
