Welcome to Oak Ridge. Located in an old growth wooded area of Somesville between Somes Pond and Somes Landing, Oak Ridge offers everything. Enjoy a walk to the pond for a swim, or down to the shore for a picnic. Bring your bikes or use one of ours to explore the other area ponds and watersheds. Watch the bald eagles fly over during the day and gaze up at the stars from the hot tub after dark while you listen to owls.
A large covered porch overlooks gardens and leads you into a living room with leather furniture, gas fireplace and a surround sound entertainment system. Adjacent to the main living room is a den with piano, love seat and reading chairs. The master bedroom is on the northern side of main level and features vaulted ceilings, flat screen tv and a private bathroom with jacuzzi tub. On the southern side of the main level there is a fully equipped state of the art kitchen with a breakfast nook and a formal dining area with an artisan furniture. For more casual dining there is a BBQ area with patio furniture on the back deck. A hot tub is located on the far end of the back deck.
The second floor features a king suite with ensuite bathroom, a queen bedroom, two twin bedrooms and full shared bathroom. All rooms are fully furnished and have books, board games and views of the wooded areas surrounding the house.
The ground level features a very large entertainment room with comfortable seating for 10, pool table, flat screen tv, video game system, movies, games and more. There is also a single trundle bedroom on this level and a door to a private back yard with gardens.
Oak Ridge offers wireless DSL throughout and is both family friendly and pet friendly.
Pick up the Island Explorer, the free shuttle bus to all Island towns, just a mile from the house. Dogs are welcome with a pet fee and written proof of flea treatment. $125 exit cleaning fee for parties over 8 people. Oak Ridge lends itself nicely to two families sharing a vacation home on Mt. Desert Island.
