This is a beautiful two story home at the top of the Kona Paradise area featuring three bedrooms and two baths above and a huge ohana and bath below, each with a large lanai in front. It is distinguished by its' location which, at 1000 feet above sea level, affords gentle ocean breezes and a temperature which is comfortably ten degrees cooler than that of the beach below. There are expansive views of the ocean and of the coastlines to the north and the south. The great room is very large, open, and airy and provides the full feel of the ocean environment. It is complimented by bamboo flooring and open windows on three sides. Sit here and absorb the beauty of the universe around you. Or look out to the ocean and pay homage to the seafarers who came here before you.
The attached kitchen features spacious cherry cabinetry, granite counters, and modern appliances and utensils.
The master suite includes its own private lanai and the master bath has a jacuzzi and oversized shower.
The bedrooms are simple and elegant and all rooms have comfortable platform beds.
There is a private yard in back with a covered gas grill.
All of the usual amenities in this area including easy beach access (beautifull pebble beach is at the bottom of the hill), snorkeling, kayaking, bicycling, and hiking, are easily accessable. The drive to Kona will provide tourist attractions and nightlife but there is also excellent dining locally in Captain Cook and nearby Kealakekua.
The beauty and seclusion of this home are protected by a rather steep drive and stairway which, while contributing to your fitness, may be a disadvantage for the infirm.
This home offers beauty, calm, and comfort in Hawaiian style. It is available as three bedrooms and two baths or as a four bedroom three bath arrangement for larger parties.

I stayed with my boyfriend on our vacation in september,2012. It was one of the best experience ever. i have travelled a lot in my life , always rented houses on islands, and other countries. Believe me i never got anything close to what this house offered. This place has my heart set on it. i would even buy it if owner ever wants to sell it at any cost. OMG , the views from this house are still fresh in my eyes after all that time actually i am planning to go back this year for my mom and dads anniversary. Can't find anything else this good. Owner is just so nice, mini n mike the best couple with taste and style who cares abut their guests, they made us feel comfortable at home. Please read no further , if you want best experience of cleanliness, modern house at the beach , well equipped this is it. I wish everyone great time like i had.buck well spent.thx, hope it helps.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This house is the perfect house we've ever rented. It has a spectacular view of the ocean with an open concept that would take your breath away. It is spacious, clean and has everything we need. They have beach stuff that you can use like snorkel, flippers, body boards, chairs, umbrella and beach towels. You can make waffles everyday and smoothies, just pick up some fresh fruits from the fruit stand a few miles down the road. Eat breakfast/ dinner at the lanai and watch the sunrise / sunset. You'd be in awe. My favorite place is the chaise/ daybed facing the lanai where I take a short nap after a full day in the sun. And last but not the least I am so grateful to find the nicest and most accommodating house owner and the caretaker of this zen place.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We rented the second level of this beautiful house for 10 days and had a wonderful and rejuvenating time! The property is breathtaking with arguably the best view in the neighborhood. All of the rooms are like a photo out of a catalogue –tastefully decorated, warm and inviting! At 1000+ feet above sea level, there is a nice breeze and the temperature is perfect for sleeping. The driveway is steep as with most driveways in the neighborhood, but I found that the textured surface provided more than enough traction for our car and we never experienced any problems. In addition, lights line the edge of the driveway from top to bottom and provide a well-lit guide for the evening. The water pressure is strong and the heater is efficient. We never had water issues when taking showers – We have stayed at other properties in the neighborhood that had weaker water pressure due to the rain-fed catch basin. Not the case with this place. The backyard has a covered built-in grill and a wrap around deck for entertaining. As for the homeowners, Mini and Michael are wonderful and very easy to work with. They were very attentive to any issues we had and even provided us with tips on places to visit/shop etc. The neighborhood has its own beautiful black pebble beach that is minimally occupied! We will definitely be coming back in the future!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

My husband and I booked and paid for a 3 week stay here for Feb. 2013 and then found shortly after that I was pregnant and in fact due Feb. 13th 2013 so we unfortunately had to cancel our vacation. Cancelling a long trip you've already paid for is difficult and stressful. I had trip cancellation insurance but they wouldn't cover pregnancy and I was left out in the cold (read your policies CAREFULLY). Mini and Mike were so completely wonderful and understanding, they fully refunded my money with no hassles and I can't fully express the relief and help they provided me. Even though I haven't actually stayed at the property I felt it important to let potential renters know the type of people they are dealing with. There is an element of trust required when dealing with a private rental and I wouldn't hesitate to place my trust and my money with Mike and Mini again. As soon as we are able to take our new family member on a trip I will be looking to them first for our accommodations. :)Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We loved this spot. We are a family of 3 and shared the rental with friends, a family of 4. There was plenty of room, everything was very clean, comfortable, vacation friendly. Mini and Mike were great, very easy to reach and work with. The house is modern, has lots of natural light, great view, in a quiet, lush neighborhood, and access to a black pebble beach at the bottom of the steep road. the ocean view from the top deck is wonderful. We enjoyed breakfast and dinners from this fantastic vantage point.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

My stay was an experience to remember. This reasonably priced vacation home is less than 1 mile away from a private beach and in my opinion its the best beach on the island filled with fish, coral, and smooth black pebbles, not sand. The is a beautiful house and the drive to town is nice. I will most difinately be coming back and recommending this place to everyone I know who wants a calm soothing environment with excitement around every corner.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

From my first inquiry with Mini and Michael I knew they were going to be wonderful to work with, they were the perfect hosts. We have rented many homes across the country and never has one been this nice, modern, CLEAN, and absolutely beautiful. We stayed with our four teenage daughters and never did we get in each others way. The house is huge and was stocked with pretty much everything you might need. The view is absolutely amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the sunset with a glass of wine. We happened to run out of propane for the hot water during our stay, but I left a message for the caretaker and for Mini and within a few hours it was restocked. Mini also followed up to make sure everything had been taken care of. They were so great to work with. We were very sad to leave, but know that when we come back we will without a doubt come back to Paradise Cove and stay at this house again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
